  1. ...what about all of the other AP media outlets, television and radio stations, who are qualified to cast ballots but do not participate? I feel like a citizen of a former communist-bloc country who did NOT have the opportunity to vote, and was amazed that many citizens of western countries who DID have the PRIVILEGE chose not to exercise it. Their lackidasical attitude destroys the potential validity of the poll. :irked:
  2. I guess Madison Central is just a suregate member of the Mountain Region, who annually plays against the Lexington 4A Region each year. If they finally keep the Mountain Region from being swept by the Lexington 4A teams in the playoffs, I'm SURE you will then accept them like your long lost brother.
  3. Considering the large number of eligible media sources statewide, it is a total embarassment that ONLY 17 cast their ballots. I DO NOT fault the WKY or EKY contingent for dutifully casting their ballots, which often include the teams with which they are most familar. But your presentation here, westsider, does answer a lot of questions I had about the overall validity of these AP Polls. Shame on the NKY and Louisville media who DO NOT participate. :irked: :irked: :irked:
  4. Is Madison Central not considered a "fringe - EKY" team? They are #8 in the BGP 4A poll (ahead of unranked Dixie Heights, Connor, Ryle). Is this a reverse bias? Also recheck your AP Poll and you WILL find that Madison Central is #10, this week. :argue:
  5. I am going to presume, Hoosier Eagle, that your exclusion of the 4A ranking from this discussion means that there is at least one BGP poll which (at least at this point) does NOT show show a NKY bias over EKY teams. If your acquisation of bias is true, why do we have this one inconsistency?
  6. Bert noted earlier that the Archdiocese did not support trinity and that since 1994, they have been a separate entity. I also thought this was the case until recently when I found out that $6,400,000 was contributed by Archbishop Kelly to trinity to finance their latest expansion plans and stadium renovation. The magnitude of this "non-alum" donation shocked me, especially in light of the fact that he did not assist Holy Rosary when their alums, students, and supporters had raised $800,000 of the $1,000,000 needed to keep the school open. Most of this money is the result of previous and current donations to the Archdiocesan Fund, which is collected from parisheners at all the Catholic Churches. I don't think that many of us knew when we made our contributions that this much money was being allocated to a football stadium and other academic and non-academic facilities at trinity high school. This doesn't seem right. :irked:
  7. Alum donors are the way to go, but I have major problems when Archbishop Kelly writes out a check for 6.4 million to one school while offering nothing to another and causing it to close. I'm now reconsidering my donations to the Archdiocisean Fund. :irked:
  8. ...you have been on a FULL SCHOLARSHIP at my expense as a taxpayer ever since you entered public school. Those who attend St. X. , who do qualify for financial assistance, still MUST pay some tuition, plus participate in a work study program similar to those required in college. NO ONE gets a full ride like you are getting. This is therefore NOT a private school advantage, but a private school disadvantage. Financially, you are on EASY STREET, but sadly you are incapable of appreciating it. :burger:
  9. There's just an aura present at ole Manual Stadium. For me, maybe part of it is just watching the young men run up the little hill after scoring a touchdown in the east endzone. I have a lot of both good and bad flashbacks everytime that happens. :thumb:
