If the Bobcats come out and play they should win a close one.

This may be a fun game to go to anybody know where the game is played.

I know Coach Parsons he is a very smart person and that in it self will help the Bobcats have great success on the football field.

I hope very much that things go there way.

What happen to Somerset to go form 2-7 and 0-9 to 9-4 and the state semi-finals?

John Derossett [130 wins in a career] at Betsy Layne '92-'95 has the most wins with 15 and the most seasons with 4 years and Jack Hall [ 200 wins in a career that also had a state title] at Betsy Layne '85-'86 comes in second with 9 wins.

Not really Betsy Layne had a better team that year. P-burg played there best game of the season and a little luck to pull off a 4 and long pass and catch in the final play of a double over time win. The team was so spend after that lose that Allen Cent. came away with a huge upset winning '13-12' scoring two touchdowns in the final 8 mins on questionble calls after the bobcats lead most of the game '12-0'. Betsy Layne also beat South Floyd '33-12' and Phelps '36-22' both playoff teams on a schedule that had 6 playoff teams. My final point why the schedule was so tough is this the last two teams they faced top 5 team Whitesburg and the state champs Breathitt Co. The Bobcats played a great half not a camplete game aginst Whitesburg lose '30-8' half time it was only '14-8' before the bobcats where overpowered by the states best running game compared to P-burg lose to the same team 49-0 and 35-0 at the half. Allen Cent. did even better losing 66-14 to Whitesburg. Now for the second time in Betsy Layne Bobcat history that they where to play a team that would go on to win a state title 15-0 Breathitt Co. losing to them 45-0 and there lead was only 14-0 at the half Betsy Layne just played a better team that day. P-burg lost to Breathitt Co. 55-0 why Allen Cent. lost to them 69-0, but at the end of the day Betsy Layne had a tough schedule and a good to OK team that year.

Ya it was 1995 6-4 team that was able to compete in the district. That same year 3 of the 4 county teams made the playoffs P-burg 4-7, Allen Cent. 5-6, South Foyd also made it at 3-8. The 1995 season was a crazy year for high school football.

Betsy Layne had a better run in '94-96' because they where in class AA. 1995 at 6-4 they started the year off winning the first four game before they lost to P-burg on a forth down pass to the end zone for a touchdown at '14-12' double overtime game that cost them the playoffs that season. Tho in the '80's they where ok in class A and the best years where '83-86' 5-5, 3-7, 3-7,and 6-4. Now on the that 1986 Bobcat team poeple know so well may had ben the best team because they started the season 6-1 even beat a pretty good whitesburg team '47-26' after that they when on to beat P-burg '12-8' in the only lose the Backcats had to a Foyd Co. team. That 1986 Bobcat team hopes of a sub-district title and the playoffs ended at the hands of Pikeville in the seasons final game '30-8' in that Betsy Layne lead at the half '8-3' before turnovers cost them the game.

Corbin won the district and was number 1 in the state when P-burg beat them in the Quarterfinals.

Prestonsburg had a good run '80-'85, 1980 lost to Pikeville class AA for the sub district title P-burg went 8-3 with a 11 game schedule. 1981 P-burg with a 11 game schedule went 10-3 beat Johns Creek '27-8' in the Quarterfinals then went on to lose to Somerset '10-0' in the semi-finals. 1982 P-burg with a 11 game schedule went 10-3 beat Whitesburg '26-6' in the Quarterfinals then go on to lose to Corbin '28-0' in the Semi-finals. 1983 P-burg with a 10 game schedule went 10-2 beat MC Napier '20-0' in maybe a sub-district battle then go on to lose to Somerset '17-0' in the Quarterfinals. 1984 P-burg with a 10 game schedule went 9-2 losing in the first round to Hazard '19-14' in a big big upset. 1985 P-burg with a 11 game schedule went 12-2 beating Hazard '47-7' then went on to beat Corbin '27-7' in the Quarterfinals after that went on to lose to Newport Cent. Cath. '20-7'

Ya your right but I think looking at the records they changed the sub-districts up every two years but I am not a 100% on that, if so one knows please post it for me.

The best run they had was in class AA 94'-96' nothing great at 5-5, 4-6, 6-4, and 3-7 so if they are on the right track making the playoffs last year at 3-8 with improvment this year team can be a very good. Allen Cent. has the most coming back, losing just two players off a 7-4 team in that distict. Pikeville and Paintsville are going to be good no matter who is good in this class A distict, all in all this should be a great year for the blue white.

Ya when I looked at the playoffs form '79-'86 some teams had to play a playoff game so they could play in the Quarterfinals like we do today. Why other teams first game in the playoffs was the Quarterfinals, how was the playoff format set up, does anyone know?

I have to say it is great to hear that so many great schools are looking at Kentucky high school football players.

I hope they can build on last year's playoff team and make a bigger run this year.

It is great to see a mountian Back sign with any big time schools on 1A level. Congrats to Fugate on the commit to the Vols and I can't wait to see the big guy play this fall.

SV would be a great job to great they have alot coming back.

The Rebels had the most wins in school history when they went 7-4 2008 { beating the 6-5 record set in 1990}.

Allen Cent. could make alot of noise next year with almost the whole team coming back.
