Rumor has it that Blake Freeman has suffered a knee injury and will not be able to play this week. Not for sure if this is totally accurate but from my sources he maybe sidelined for quite some time if he even gets to play again this season. Blake is a quality person and I truly hope he recovers completely.

No doubt the gate would be better and the local interest in the game would be higher. I hope this move takes place. It would be better to lose to Mboro or Corbin than to be defeated by the Raiders.

I would look for the Jackets to not renew the contract with McCreary for the next two years. I think the Jackets have been defeated by the Raiders at the middle school level recently and with the departure of a nice senior class would not fare too well in the upcoming matchups with the Raiders. Of course they could be looking to add a tougher non district opponent like Middlesboro, Corbin, Paris or someone like that as well.

I would think the Jacket players will have to be dismissed from school early in order to make the trip over to Stearns. This always causes a stir among other sports team and such. I can not see why the McCreary officals would want to play this game at this time, but it is their home gate. I would move it to Saturday during the day so I could have a better crowd.

I agree withe these comments. Coach Jewell is a fine man and a good Coach. I would say not many people have a complaint with him. With that said, expectations are still present and the past two weeks looked very shaky on offense. Hopefully they can fix the offense before the defense gets disheartened and lets up.

Some people have more than a clue. Differences of opinion happen all the time. I think given the last two seasons something is not right. If South pulls a four year sweep the clues might be revealed to a few more folks as well. Hope we score 60 and then I will eat all the crow you can muster up. Winning the district is not the big prize. Some have higher expectations.

Why not move to the Burg and play under the cool lights and have a decent crowd....it would be foolish to play this game on Friday at 4:30....at least move it to Saturday during the day so the fans can make it to the game.....Is there any truth to this?

Sounds like Root is out of the same mold as former Wburg great Chad Price...he went onto a nice career at Cumberland as well. Maybe the Patriots will find a place on their roster for Mr.Root.

Things will get better when we get to the district. It will turn around again this season. Just wish we could beat some of the better teams on the schedule especially early in the year. I see a repeating pattern.

Great Coach who has seen his better days....enough said....if Big Jewell relies on him and Little J then he might be in trouble soon...... Duncum is ready to assume the role of the offense if given the chance..times change....one has to adjust.....just an opinion...even Michael Jordan knew when to get out......lol..

I might surpise you with my football knowledge....I know a few things...at least I am brave enough to say that the offense stinks....kids do not know their roles or assignments...Farris is not a God...... It is time for change.... we have a QB with a cannon....why can we not use him....we all want the same result...just difference of opinion....I have as much P and V as Farris btw.....he does not scare me...:ylsuper:

Seems to me like the offense make me sick at my stomach.....kids either do not understand it or are not in the right places.....frustrating to watch..many long time Redhounds were leaving in the third quarter with some extremely long faces....

No one can claim that the Campers play a weak non district schedule. Coach Mitchell will not back down from a challenge. His teams records over the last 25 plus years reflect that too. Lynn Camp is one of the best Class A teams in this end of the state, most seasons. I would say they are a top 25 program overall in Class A as well....

I was not even going to respond to Mr. Fun's last post....thanks LC for revealing a few things that have happened since 2000 in the Tri- County football circles.

Woods is one the best offensive minds in the state. I wish he was calling the plays for my Hounds....Black is a solid coach in all areas of the game and has learned alot from Darrell. Difference is Jim can get along with players, parents and administrators...he is a bit more polished..IF the Jackets wanna hang their hats on their schedule then that is fine. I just think in the up years it would be more benefical to play a little tougher non district schedule. As was mentioned earlier Coach Herron did not schedule these teams. It will be interesting to see what he does next season.....when he has full control of things. All the coaches at WHS are good guys, they work hard and love the " Little School that Could".....My point was no one is going to respect wins over Jellico, McCreary as compared with wins over Cawood, Hazard etc....I dare to say that the district games are the only ones that truly matter to football playing schools...Cumberland does not play a tough non district schedule either so they have little room to talk...maybe the reason for a lack of post season success in the last five years or so for the Skins.

I think this will be a close game.....too close to call at the moment. Corbin may not be able to run the power game of the past with 140 pound backs....if they give Campbell and French some touches then the power stuff may work for them....the other backs are just to small. The offensive line has to give Cashen more time...6 to 10 sacks a game are way to many to be giving up.....Defense has been solid...South will be fired up and play their best game of the year to date this Friday.... I will hold off on my prediction until later in the week when I know the facts and how the injuries are.

Jim is a stand up guy and will not make excuses...the announcers might but not Jim.....lol He has too much class to exaggerate the facts.
