North Hardin 40 Whitley County 6

Featured Replies

Final

Whitley County had a solid performance, but couldn't match the speed of North Hardin.

Whitley County's offensive and defensive line is LEGIT. North had a hard time running the ball in the middle. Actually is wasn't happening, so North went outside and pass the ball.

Whitley's passing game was excellent. QB is very accurate and athletic. When North was able to get pressure, then the wheels fell of the Whitley Co machine.

North Hardin's made Whitley turnover the ball, example 2 Interceptions for TD's, 1 fumble recovery for TD. Whitley short passing game and screens are very effective. North was able to tip several passes.

Good win at home for the Trojans.

Listening to the game, the announcers made it sound as if this were a physical mismatch, that the QB was indecisive, and that 5 turnovers were killers. Sounded as well as if North's running back was the real deal and a handful for the Colonels.

I didn't get that listening to them although I will agree that they were hard on the QB. They also tend to be homers and if they were saying that QB was struggling then it was more than likely accurate.

Any Stats on the Game?

Jim Black took full responsiblity for the loss, he went onto say that his team never really got to show what they could have done defensively because of the numerous turnovers.

Jim is a stand up guy and will not make excuses...the announcers might but not Jim.....lol He has too much class to exaggerate the facts.

Good win, Austinman, and thanks for giving us some details on the game. For some unknown reason, the North Hardin results are always very late in being posted on the KHSAA Scoreboard.

Obviously, both the new offensive and defensive schemes are starting to come together. It seems you made a similar vast improvement like us between games 1 and 2. Keep it rolling and we'll see you at the Pizza Palace! :thumb:

What is up with Mark Terry one carry, after seeing him last year I thought he might have a shot at Mr Football.

Any Stats on the Game?

Team Stats Whitley Co-96yds Rush (Jefferies 17 carries-61 yds)

North Hard- 237yds Rush (Terry 20 carries- 134yds)

Whitley Co Passing-179 yds (McCumbers 13-30 4-int 161 yds)

North Hardin Passing- 84 yds (Autrey 6-11 1-int 80 yds)

Whitley Co 8 fumbles lost 2

North Hardin 4 fumbles lost 2

Turnovers killed the Colonels, if the QB threw 4 INTs then you can't be too hard on him.

Thanks for the stats.......
