One of your wide receivers did not play wide receiver in high school. Is someone messing around with this list?

These are really difficult. Are we choosing based on players who had the best pro career? Or the best college career? Or....the best players in high school. It could be three totally different list of players.

I can not get the picture of the Purdue player's foot touching the out of bounds line, uploaded on this site. Maybe someone else with more IT savvy could help me.

I went to the game and because of that, I missed many of the replays and commentary. I do not think the NCAA allows controversial replays to be shown on the big screen at the games, because we sure didn't see any. After having a chance to look at replays this morning, a whole lot happened in the last 3 seconds of this game. I can't speak to the blocked shot being off the Purdue player. I haven't seen a replay that would change the call on the court as being Purdue's ball. On the inbounds pass, the Purdue player took a LONG time to inbounds the ball. Should it have been a 5 second call? I thought so, but I did not have a stopwatch on it. Bang bang call. Did the Purdue player step out of bounds before the 3 point attempt? I'll let the attached photo speak to that. Was there a foul on the three point attempt? I say yes/no. Without going into it, I do NOT think a foul should have been called. I think the official bailed out the Purdue player. The official should have called the players feet out of bounds and the foul/no foul would have had no bearing. It was a poorly officiated game both ways, but I say Tennessee got jobbed in the end.

A proven winner, but comes with some baggage. There is no doubt, he knows the game. Would be a winning hire, IMHO.

Interesting story. I wouldn't put this on here if I didn't think it made some sense. I have been told that P.J. Washington has a broken toe. The cause was from kicking something during "horseplay". To be continued.....

To me, the play of the game was the weak box out on Zion's free throw. Basketball 101 teaches that the defensive player with inside position on the free throw (Dawkins) move into the Duke player (Barrett) in a backwards direction and then rebound a missed free throw. That is NOT what he did, rather, made a forward movement towards the basket, allowing Barrett to walk him towards the basket into a poor rebounding position. There was no push in the back by Barrett, but poor fundamentals by Dawkins. Duke went from down three, to up one with the Zion and/one and the Barrett put back. HUGE!

This would surprise me because UCLA has never been one of the high paying jobs. But...stranger things can happen. Here is my breakdown of Cal's statement: I’m coaching at the University of Kentucky. True statement In my opinion, there is no better job in the world to coach basketball. True statement My plan and my desire is to retire at Kentucky. Plans and desires change I think the university feels the same as I do and we’ve talked openly about it. I tend to believe this Now let’s focus on this game tomorrow. He (again) has a team that is talented enough to win it all, this is a good idea Coach Cal (true to form) has not answered the direct question, but rather diverted it. With his skillset and strengths, I do think he is the perfect person for the UK job. I do NOT think his model is one to win championships. As a general rule, experienced teams win championships and UK will never be an experienced team under Cal. If he goes to UCLA or anywhere else....fine. The next great coach at UK is......???

So you are ok with UK's young teams making the Sweet Sixteen and then bowing out? Moral victory for the youngest team in the country (again and again and again)? Cal's 11th year has yielded some very talented teams, yet just one championship...the level of expectation for the University of Kentucky. Experience is the obvious missing factor each year.

Oh, and the officiating yesterday. They were awful. This is from someone who usually refrains from blaming any loss on officials. I have closely reviewed the game tape. Reid Travis was called for 5 personal fouls. I honestly do not think ANY of the calls on him were actual fouls. I really like Grant Williams. But after yesterday's game, he is getting away with murder and making officials look like fools because he is so good at all the fine points of flopping, the arm bar, hooking, and baiting. He needs to clean it up, and the zebras need to put him on notice that it will not be tolerated.

Sorry for coming into this discussion so late. What I saw yesterday, was a veteran team tightening up and focusing late in the game. And a young team (again) having some adversity and wilting and losing focus late in the game. This is, and probably will be the story every year with Kentucky. We will see this in the SEC semi-finals and the NCAA tournament each year. The Kentucky model is not one to win championships. When these super talented freshman face pressure and adversity, they are often times not experienced enough to focus and handle it. Cal has a very nice team this year with lots of good parts to it. But.....I just don't see the opportunity to make a run at a championship, which is the standard at Kentucky.

I really thought I saw a selfish Scott County team in the second half today. They didn't pass the ball around until they found the open man like I have seen from them all year. A lot of forced shots, especially in the 4th quarter.

Really good defense on this play. Held their ground and arms straight up.

So sad. Tom Terrific was one of my all-time favorite pitchers. My Mother suffered from this disease....just awful. Prayers to the Seaver family.

I have seen it at Rupp, but I can't tell you the last time. I've been going for about 40 years and it seems they all are beginning to run together.

But effective. He is a master at working the referees to not call a foul on his Cardinals on every play in the game. Advantage......Scott County.

The Rupp Arena court has the ability to be converted to high school size. After tonight's game, they will put the additional panels in for the UK/Florida game tomorrow afternoon, and then take those panels out for the high school games Saturday evening. The court is converted to 84 feet (high school size) for the Sweet Sixteen.

A "healthy" 2019 Scott County is better, but Moreno is not 100% and will have a hard time elevating against athletic opponents. Might become an issue in this tournament.

I have seen Scott County about five or six times this season and have not seen Covington Catholic at all. Michael Moreno is not at 100%, but he is playing through his limitations. One statement made on this thread makes me think Covington Catholic might have a difficult time in this game, even with Scott County star Moreno NOT being full strength....."Covington Catholic guards are small and don't respond well to pressure". If the Cov Cath guards can't handle the pressure it will be a long game for the Colonels. Scott County CAN turn up the heat. Can't wait to see this exciting first round match up.

Congratulations to Scott County! Senior laden team in which many have been four year starters. Their experience and hard play led them to a convincing win over the Blue Devils. Henry Clay did not play well, but they were one of the top teams in the state, and McPapa....they were better than Frankfort, in my opinion. Good season, Devils!

Nice post! I agree with #1. Henry Clay plays small and has some great ball handlers, so the pressure that Scott County usually applies will not affect them as much. #2. is true. Unless the Blue Devils have a poor shooting night, they should be right there in this one. #3. it is kinda sad that this Scott County team has been one of the state's top teams for three or four years now, and the Moreno kid gets hurt midway through his senior year. He is NOT back 100%, is rusty, and seems to have a lot of trouble elevating off the floor. It is understandable. I will be rooting for Henry Clay and I think the Devils can win this one. They do need a good game from star junior guard, Marquez Warrick. Billy Hicks has done a nice job in all three meetings of these teams this year in shutting "Quez" down. Smart....he the one who drives the Henry Clay team. Henry Clay needs efficient games from seniors #4 Keaston Brown and #32 Harris Hawkins and hopefully, #5 Ramon Jackson can match is outstanding performance versus Scott County in the district final victory. Jackson MUST stay out of foul trouble. Go Devils!
