We are replacing all of our light towers at Pikeville! Much needed I might add!

But I would like to commend some of the team leaders on that team! They acted like men and came out to shake Pikeville's hands even against their coaches orders! Way to show class even when your leaders don't!! :thumb:

I agree totally with your post! The only thing I didn't mention was that I was taking into account the fact that the rest of the region would be down too. I think in comparison to the rest of the 15th, Pikeville will still be fine and one of the best.

I'm not sure I understand. People pay money for taking BP? If so, you must be running a pretty smooth operation over there! Keep it up!

I know they lost Steve Blevins as well as Sunny Maron? ...Two key players from last year that they will definitely miss! I think they should still be pretty competitive.

Lawson...No matter what certain people have to say, you can't argue with success. I think you will be able to see it especially this year because Pikeville lost a LOT last year! I don't expect them to miss a beat!

Your right, Automatic...Parents take things way too personal. But how can you blame them for wanting the best for their kids! I just wish they would react with a little more maturity!

Sounds like our practices to a T! After this routine, it might be good to start with a round of infield.

IMO it depends ENTIRELY on the pitcher...Any individual player has his own limits and while that may be 50-75 for one player, the next could easily be able to handle 100+...It depends on how in shape the pitcher's arm is as well as the rest of his body. For example, a former player I know threw 15 innings in one game. I do NOT recommend that for any player, but my point is, the very next day, he came down and practiced with the team. Just go with your instinct. Usually you can tell when a pitcher has hit his limit. Also, teach your players to be honest with you and themselves. Pitchers know when their done!

Hmmm...That could be a pretty touchy situation! In a perfect world there would definitely be nothing wrong with it, but I could definitely see some parents who would get very upset at this! Are you going to make the entire team tryout again? If not, then you could let some of last years players do the fundraising. People who you are sure will make the team when February rolls around. But, again, leaving some people out who THINK they will make the team could make some people angry!

Another good fundraiser for next year could be to sell hams, turkeys, etc. My team sells them around October for Thanksgiving or Oct/Nov. to get them in for Christmas.

If you have an Applebee's around your area, they are always willing to sponsor pancake breakfasts as long as you can find a date far enough in advance that agrees with them. At Pikeville our Applebee's is always willing to help! Also, a good, quick fundraiser could be to hold a camp for younger players (ex. ages 8-13). Have players on your team work as the "counselors" and tutor the kids.

As for the fields that I have seen, Corbin deifintely takes the cake...I played out there for the Sectional tournament this past season, and I was very impressed! Also, Pikeville's field is second to few...It is definitely top notch!

Tomorrow night (Friday) the Panthers Of Pikeville take on the Shelby Valley Wildcats at SVHS. With the support of their fans behind them, I predict Pikeville will come up with the upset and squeak by Valley with a score of: 64-61 Get 'em Panthers! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa

Looks pretty good to me Buck, but I think it is entirely possible for Allen Central to move up a spot or two. They defninitely looked pretty good in the tournament last year!

In the 15th, Pikeville will be strong as well as Allen Central, Paintsville, and Johnson Central.

None of these guys IMO have anywhere near the kind of speed that Chase Huffman and Max Pafunda have at Pikeville! The only people who beat either of them last year were David Jones, and a guy who for the life of me I cannot remember! I do believe he graduated though! I think his name was Nate!
