Good coach or not. The points you try to make with the references you give show a lack of many things. IF you are asking my personal opinion, with a complete set of things I consider that make a good coach, the answer is fairly easy....no, he was not a good coach but it really has nothing to do with this thread now does it? You make reference to someone who had not been around for 5 years. Not sure I understand your point but I will take Reitz over Sullivan any time.

It will come down early on how the Camels handle the press. If they do OK there, then it comes down to a little outside shooting, then it will come down to making their free throws when given the chance. The camels, like virtually all Mason opponents are overmatched. Hopefully, the camels play loose and with high expectations and make a statement for themselves. However, I will say this, the camel team of January will not be the camel team of March.

Campbell County will be fine on the varsity, jv and freshman level. This could be frustration on a few that want better than how it turns out. I believe the Camels last year could have done better but in tournament play, you are one and done. This year team has a solid senior group and a solid junior group and a solid sophomore group. Frankly, I am interested in what the team will do in the spring of 08 rather than a supposed screwed up game on the jv level in 07. I saw the game, it was a questionable call but the umpire did describe his call making the rule a judgement call, end of story. This same umpire did many jv home games and no problems prior. Can this put it to bed? Campbell will have solid players at many positions. Not a few great but just very good across the board. Those kind of line ups have a tendency to produce. Oldteacher, you have evidently been around and sounds like you may have gone away. Are you coming back? Where you one of the ones who were let go a few years ago and now its payback? Not trying to find out mods, and do not want to know just trying to make a point. You make some points but there is an edge to your points to some pretty good and fair folks. Camel staff, develop a thick skin like ball gloves, it will make it easy to catch the high and tight throws.

Great to see the Old Guard of Campbell County is out in full force. This coach had a problem. He was not in the fold of the athletic crowd. It is a joke to send this coach walking but still keep the girls basketball coach. I wonder if one of the mothers on the team who is a teacher in the system stabbed the coach in the back. She has a history of that.

Considering the bravado and ego of the Boyle principal I can see how this would start.

Under the old 10th configuration, anyone could have won that district. As I said, average and that is nothing to brag about. Never went to a game?! Maybe want to understand the smiles! Campbell won plenty of district and region titles in the 80's and that was in the much stronger 9th. Been to more games than many people combined. Sorry for your misunderstanding 81. Simply saying, average and there is nothing wrong in pointing that out. I do not think Campbell will be the force people think it may be this year. Also, this group has yet to beat Scott with its current staff. That will be a challenge again. Pitching, the thinking goes will be a Camel strength may actually be a weakness. Time will tell but the standard bearers of accomplishments, Harrison will be at the top again.

The program would be better served to look forward instead of living in the past. The size and feeder programs for Campbell should make it a consistent and dominant force at district play every single year. It use to be that way, year in and year out. Now, there is satisfaction and bragging on a record that is really not all that much. The jv game last year was the result of brossart coach having the team come ready to play and the camel coach not. How a camel team not be up to play Brossart is lost on me but that is a coach responsibility. There is more support to being outcoached at the jv level by the fact the varsity coach had to enforce discipline and team rules during a jv game around the time of the Brossart game while the jv coach was lost about it. I believe a player was kicked off the team over it. I think there is great potential in the Camel program. But I see a comfort on the coaching staff that is not working that hard and has not worked hard. Some of the coaches do not even show up for practices and just before the game! Kids are suppose to be impressed by that? This is a situation that can be improved on. If that offends some, so be it. The site always talks about how to improve a program but I fail to see where some coaches do not hold themselves in the same light. The successful ones do.

Campbell can clean up some of its jv game problems if the coaching staff became aware of the rules and worked on the basics. That jv game by Brossart is simply being outplayed and outcoached by Brossart. Same thing is said for a few games at the varsity level.

A couple of these posts are sounding like a few statistics happy parents that we have no choice to listen to in the stands. Strange, these were the same ones who complained about the old coach and now this one? I feel bad for these parents. They are use to their golden childs scoring 20 in AAU and now they don't or not even play. Strange, it just seems weird seeing the posts of what I hear.

I attended Western's Homecoming this year and many state finals for several years. Yes, Bowling Green could handle the crowds with the restaurants and its hotels. The huge problem is it takes a pretty good coordinated effort to move people out of one game at Western. How in the world could they handle the inflow and outflow of 6 games? The parking around the stadium for homecoming existed on campus property lawns for goodness sakes?! Are you serious about championships? The simple fact is the city of Louisville handles the entire championship, a U of L basketball game, downtown events, etc. and does not miss a beat and no one gets in each other's way. Put 6 games in Bowling Green over two days you will have an entire shutdown of the campus area and plenty of upset people. Sorry Western folks your site is good for many things but the logistics for several games is not an answer and paying customers should not be put into that spot. If this really is a serious debate, try this - Paul Brown Stadium.

Rome wasn't re-built in a day! Actually, Rome was never rebuilt.:lol: Saying that, I think it is very unfair to force Brossart to spend its resources and time to go after students who are being sold on NC that live in the area of Brossarts boundaries. I know this fight has gone on forever and I know some at St. Joe who take advantage of it for NC. I do not know for a fact but it seems Brossart's building efforts to improve, paid for by its supporters are always held back by the bishop and maybe others (behind the scenes). Brossart should not have to deal with that kind of lukewarm vision.

I am happy the Brossart faithful believes in its future. Make no mistake the Camels have just as strong faith. The fact is one of the middle teams lost to one of the feeder schools and would not beat the other one. There are two and talk of three middle school teams for each grade level. The JV team, if some of the seniors would have developed would force a few juniors and soph to play jv and that would make a different story. Sad fact is the last coach played politics in keeping parent happy choices on the team last year. The new coach who I don't know clearly has set his expectation level on his first day. The freshman, hands down very good and will show great things. The 8th and 7th grade teams are very good. Add to the mix is the word an elementary school league will be in the mix starting next year and now the Camel pipeline will fill up. Plus having the best facilities, improved support and frankly, what has happened is a sleeping giant woke up. The enrollment is going up while other schools have gone down or stayed flat. The kids from the private schools is growing each year after a decade of decline. Something is going on and the something is for the first time ever, Campbell County is actively making a statement of being in things to win.

Great job Camels! Everyone should note the Camels are young and inexperienced but showing great potential.

There is a rule in place that states it as wrong under the sportsmanship rule. There are examples provided by some who are involved in the game at the high school level. What does this really say about so called professional educators that would stoop to the point of deliberately violating a sports principle. One, is it OK to do it in girls bball because it is not as important or two, it happens in boys bball too. Regardless, a coach who does this, an AD who allows this, a principal who looks the other way and a superitendent who pretends not to know speaks volumes about that school! Great example!

If the players are returning please let it be by the decision of the head coach and not the meddling of parents. Words spoken about this are disappointing, if true. Chemistry is more than elements that are mixed in a classroom.

What a display of poor crew work. To remove a score is horrible, to take two is just not acceptable. As to the game, it never really was a game at any time. New qb shows some great potential and the mix in run and pass will make the Camel O come to life going forward.

Does anyone have the stats for the game. My take is Conner really had the personal fouls and Campbell seem to be in response but both had calls against them. There was a sequence where Conner had fouls one after another.

Coach Warner consistently will win and is developing a solid program. The rest in 6A would be well served to learn from him. He is one of the very few coaches that has a good record in post season play in the large school divisions.

More than 3???? There was three in two plays in start of 4th plus many more. All of which added to Campbell. Just not smart or focused.
