  1. No. I never saw a Camel baseball game or any game in my entire career.
  2. The program would be better served to look forward instead of living in the past. The size and feeder programs for Campbell should make it a consistent and dominant force at district play every single year. It use to be that way, year in and year out. Now, there is satisfaction and bragging on a record that is really not all that much. The jv game last year was the result of brossart coach having the team come ready to play and the camel coach not. How a camel team not be up to play Brossart is lost on me but that is a coach responsibility. There is more support to being outcoached at the jv level by the fact the varsity coach had to enforce discipline and team rules during a jv game around the time of the Brossart game while the jv coach was lost about it. I believe a player was kicked off the team over it. I think there is great potential in the Camel program. But I see a comfort on the coaching staff that is not working that hard and has not worked hard. Some of the coaches do not even show up for practices and just before the game! Kids are suppose to be impressed by that? This is a situation that can be improved on. If that offends some, so be it. The site always talks about how to improve a program but I fail to see where some coaches do not hold themselves in the same light. The successful ones do.
  3. Campbell can clean up some of its jv game problems if the coaching staff became aware of the rules and worked on the basics. That jv game by Brossart is simply being outplayed and outcoached by Brossart. Same thing is said for a few games at the varsity level.
  4. A couple of these posts are sounding like a few statistics happy parents that we have no choice to listen to in the stands. Strange, these were the same ones who complained about the old coach and now this one? I feel bad for these parents. They are use to their golden childs scoring 20 in AAU and now they don't or not even play. Strange, it just seems weird seeing the posts of what I hear.
  5. I attended Western's Homecoming this year and many state finals for several years. Yes, Bowling Green could handle the crowds with the restaurants and its hotels. The huge problem is it takes a pretty good coordinated effort to move people out of one game at Western. How in the world could they handle the inflow and outflow of 6 games? The parking around the stadium for homecoming existed on campus property lawns for goodness sakes?! Are you serious about championships? The simple fact is the city of Louisville handles the entire championship, a U of L basketball game, downtown events, etc. and does not miss a beat and no one gets in each other's way. Put 6 games in Bowling Green over two days you will have an entire shutdown of the campus area and plenty of upset people. Sorry Western folks your site is good for many things but the logistics for several games is not an answer and paying customers should not be put into that spot. If this really is a serious debate, try this - Paul Brown Stadium.
  6. Rome wasn't re-built in a day! Actually, Rome was never rebuilt. Saying that, I think it is very unfair to force Brossart to spend its resources and time to go after students who are being sold on NC that live in the area of Brossarts boundaries. I know this fight has gone on forever and I know some at St. Joe who take advantage of it for NC. I do not know for a fact but it seems Brossart's building efforts to improve, paid for by its supporters are always held back by the bishop and maybe others (behind the scenes). Brossart should not have to deal with that kind of lukewarm vision.
  7. I am happy the Brossart faithful believes in its future. Make no mistake the Camels have just as strong faith. The fact is one of the middle teams lost to one of the feeder schools and would not beat the other one. There are two and talk of three middle school teams for each grade level. The JV team, if some of the seniors would have developed would force a few juniors and soph to play jv and that would make a different story. Sad fact is the last coach played politics in keeping parent happy choices on the team last year. The new coach who I don't know clearly has set his expectation level on his first day. The freshman, hands down very good and will show great things. The 8th and 7th grade teams are very good. Add to the mix is the word an elementary school league will be in the mix starting next year and now the Camel pipeline will fill up. Plus having the best facilities, improved support and frankly, what has happened is a sleeping giant woke up. The enrollment is going up while other schools have gone down or stayed flat. The kids from the private schools is growing each year after a decade of decline. Something is going on and the something is for the first time ever, Campbell County is actively making a statement of being in things to win.
  8. Great job Camels! Everyone should note the Camels are young and inexperienced but showing great potential.
  9. There is a rule in place that states it as wrong under the sportsmanship rule. There are examples provided by some who are involved in the game at the high school level. What does this really say about so called professional educators that would stoop to the point of deliberately violating a sports principle. One, is it OK to do it in girls bball because it is not as important or two, it happens in boys bball too. Regardless, a coach who does this, an AD who allows this, a principal who looks the other way and a superitendent who pretends not to know speaks volumes about that school! Great example!
  10. If the players are returning please let it be by the decision of the head coach and not the meddling of parents. Words spoken about this are disappointing, if true. Chemistry is more than elements that are mixed in a classroom.
  11. I find it interesting the Fletcher camp has let this dog go. Interesting to is the comments within the Republican rank and file that finds this stunt to be a joke and waste. That means there is hope for the Republican party. My take on it is with all the matters that need to be addressed, we had a sitting incumbent with his inner circle actually spending time on this. It means they are really stupid, desperate or arrogant. I suspect it is all in equal parts.
  12. That is not correct. It was clearly stated by the Fletcher Administration and Dept. of Education the mandated pay increases would be fully funded. Later it was determined that such distribution would be delivered via the SEEK payment. Due to the local cap growth and the offset growth penalty from the state such funding in full was cut from many districts forcing the use of local funds and forcing the position cuts that occured in many districts. If what you say is true then KEA and the education leadership advocates proves once again how really stupid and shortsighted it can be. Up to even the most recent press releases from the Fletcher Administration was the pay raises were fully funded by his administration.
  13. What part of the mandated pay raise comes from local sources? Do not understand your point. Local district budget percentages from local, state and federal change significantly from district to district. One constant though is NorKY gets little from the state, quite a bit from local and a fraction from federal. Just south of NorKY the districts get more than their fair share from state and federal and not enough from local. Also you do realize local property taxes are capped and growth is deducted from their state share? What is your point?
  14. Not going to argue that but the fact is a mandated pay raise was not fully funded and in no sense of the word should Fletcher be given the credit in total. There were teachers who lost their jobs because of this mandate. The question I pose is how is the increase pay funded in years going forward? Do you know? Guess what, it falls back to the local districts and there will be cuts again. The raise was only funded for one year.
  15. Stating on his report that one male is the spouse of another runs contrary to the law of Kentucky," Keller asserted. When the newspaper pointed out that the report actually had been signed by campaign officials and not by Beshear himself, as the law allows, Keller was unrepentant. "Regardless, the document was signed on his behalf," Keller said. "Without question he violated the constitution. The document is his responsibility." I believe Mr. Shadow is correct. This is not an issue if Fletcher would never have brought it up. Very interesting point SS makes if this couple is married in a state that does allow such unions. Besides, these cards are really a waste of time. I know of contributors who claim some holding company as their employer instead of the engineering firm they work for. I know of spouses who claim housewife who are on the payroll of the husband companies. These are more gray areas than spouse. What is it if they are separated but listed as single or married instead, are they lying? I agree, Fletcher is desperate and this is all his fault. I think it is honorable that Mr. Beshear is defending his donors.
  16. Hopefully this turns out to be a misunderstanding but it does make a valid point. The rule has been proposed once before and nearly passed and that is you must be a resident of the state to participate in athletic and other programs. Many states have that rule and Kentucky should add it as well. After all, these competitions are called "Kentucky" and supported by the same.
  17. It was his slogan to get rid of Waste, Fraud and Abuse. He carried the higher expectation as HIS mandate. The devil is in the details. The sad fact is people in the merit system, without following the law, were taking down. Did these merit employees deserve it? Maybe, maybe not. But, no one likes or accepts a bully and that was the Fletcher administration downfall. The gov is a nice guy. His aides, they are idots that can be spelled in all caps. Sending emails to detail how and who is next for placement and elimination.:lol:
  18. Just listened to Fletcher/Beshear debate. I was simply shocked to hear Gov. Fletcher state he has fully funded preschool and kindergarten in his four years! Outstanding development. Especially since most preschool programs are federal programs and kindergarten continues to receive 1/2 per student funding from the state!
  19. A big part of the fight is the belief the teacher is king of their classroom. The problem is the money now being spent and the expectation level is at a level never experienced before. The taxpayers have a right to demand better results. The challenge is the industry of education has a "core" belief the problems are always elsewhere. Look at many posts on this board. The fact is there is case after case of great results when a different and more focused approach is taken. I know I stand alone on this debate but I think there is nothing wrong with being measured with our efforts. Besides, for so many years we got a free pass of what actually went on in the classroom.
  20. What a display of poor crew work. To remove a score is horrible, to take two is just not acceptable. As to the game, it never really was a game at any time. New qb shows some great potential and the mix in run and pass will make the Camel O come to life going forward.
  21. Interesting. Just curious, who is considered to be the worst school in the country?:sssh:
  22. Does anyone have the stats for the game. My take is Conner really had the personal fouls and Campbell seem to be in response but both had calls against them. There was a sequence where Conner had fouls one after another.
  23. Coach Warner consistently will win and is developing a solid program. The rest in 6A would be well served to learn from him. He is one of the very few coaches that has a good record in post season play in the large school divisions.
