Phil was an outstanding player who graduated in 79 and then Mark Elmer took over in 80 on the state semi-final team.

Mike and Dwayne graduated in 76 so I don't believe Dicky was on that team. He played varsity from 77-80

Dicky brought Holmes back in the 1978 district semi-final game against Holy Cross. We actually lost that game to Bryan Station I believe 109-104 in OT in the 1979-80 season.

When Dicky played for Covington Junior High he wasn't even the best guard on the floor, that was a young man named Steve Briscoe. Steve moved to Ohio and played in Cincinnati. Imagine how good Holmes would have been if Briscoe stays in Covington? Wow is right!!!

They didn't draw people like Dicky did. Not even close!

I get it if there is a pattern of past bad behavior, I just didn't feel it was right that a person could make a decision to keep someone out without some history to back it up. Thanks for info.

If going by most regional tities: Holmes in a runaway. I believe CovCath has the most regional titles in a row. 5 in late 60's early 70's. Best run in the state tournament: Holmes made it to three straight semi finals in 07, 08, 09, two straight state championship games in 08 & 09 winning the state championship in 09. CovCath two regional titles in 4 straight regional championship game appearances (13,14,15, and 16) and state title in 2014. You tell me

I'm not sure they could keep him out because there is no such rule that a person that gets tossed out of a game can be restricted from going to the next game.

If you go by just points then Ohmer is the best, but overall wise I can name some from Brad's past teams that are just as good. I will agree this year's region is more wide open and doesn't have the elite teams that Scott had to face back in 2007(GRC) and 2010 (GRC).

I agree with you. CovCath or NewCath is good but neither one would beat Christian County. Christian Co has upper level talent over either 9th region teams.

You are correct. 2007 makes it to Semi's and loses to eventual Champion Scott Co 2008 makes it to the finals and loses to Mason Co 2009 wins State Championship over Louisville Central 2010 loses to Newport in regional championship
