  1. A typical high school game last 1.5 hours, so they are making $40 an hour. That's nothing to laugh about!
  2. I was calling him out, and the other three as well. If a kid makes a turnover or missing a shot, or does something else to cost his team the game his name appears in the paper and these are 15-18 year old kids. Bo is a grown man, and he and the other 3 should be held accountable when they screw up as well. These guys go crazy if you say something about a member of their crew during a game, so to say if one screws up it should be only him who is punished is ludicrous.
  3. I am not saying they should be banned for life or anything like that, but there should be consequences for mistakes. Every other profession has some sort of accountability for mistakes. Again, the BBA claims to be the best every year. When I walked into the girl's regional final and see Clayton Brooks, Gary Wilson and Kevin Letcher calling the game, you have to wonder . . . If those are the best 3 officials we can put on a floor for a regional championship, then there is no one that can argue with me that the BBA is the best group of officials. Mediocre at best!!
  4. I dont' want to beat a dead horse. Everyone has seen the video from the Henry Clay vs. Franklin County game, and know the refs screwed up. However, as the very next game in the 11th region tournament was set to tip off, I was astonished to see Bo Queen on the floor to call the Scott County vs. Tates Creek game. Is there no accountability for these officials at all? No ref from the HC vs. FC game should have been allowed to call any game the rest of the post-season. Franklin County was sure had liked to have another game, and I bet those 7 seniors and 3 senior managers would like to have had a chance to move on in the tournament, but they were denied that. There season was over, and at the very least the 3 officials responsible should have had there season concluded as well. Not to mention that Bo had the best angle of the player and the shot as time expired, and the fact that he did nothing to right the call should be enough to keep him off any of the rest of the post-season games. Every year, I hear how great the officials are in the BBA, and that they are the best in the state. Every year I say they are terrible, and with the latest round of poor judgments and a definite lack of accountability, I think it is time for the 11th region to go out of region for the tournament. The rest of the state can't possibly be any worse that this, and at least they would call without bias and without the large chip on their shoulders!
  5. That blown call was made by a BBA official as well!
  6. Kevin Walters made the call. Bo Queen and Dustin Music were the other crew members.
  7. http://www.ihigh.com/school23602/broadcast_115190.html You can watch the refs blow it with this link. Embarassing! If this had been a college game, the refs would be banned from the rest of the postseason.
  8. Kevin Walters should be ashamed of himself. Last shot was in easily. No one in the gym could believe the call. Embarassing!
  9. Really????? Apparently you know more than all the coaches in the 11th region. Congrats!
  10. Actually the 25th consecutive district win. . .played Hills in their tournament this year as well. 2007-8 8-0 2008-9 8-0 2009-10 9-0
  11. Yeah, They will have to play EXTREMELY well. I thought going into the tournament that there were 7 teams that could win the 11th on a given night. 2 are now gone in LCA and LexCath. I still believe Scott County, Lafayette, Tates Creek, Franklin County or Madison Southern could win it on a given night. Scott County has the most talented starting 5, but there bench has left much to be desired this year. I don't think the 11th is a talented as the last few years, but it is still the 2nd strongest region in the state, behind the 7th in my opinion.
  12. Everyone's pick to win the 11th, won't even make the tournament! Wow!
  13. I was told after the game that Anderson County's seniors had never lost a home varsity game on their floor. 31 consecutive victories snapped by FC Friday night. Nice momentum win heading into the tournament. Great Atmosphere!
  14. The game tonight has been cancelled. Clark County would like to play it tomorrow night(Wednesday) as part of a boy-girl doubleheader. FC cannot commit to that yet, because of the probability that school will be cancelled on Wednesday in Franklin County. The superintendent's policy has been no school, no road trips. They are trying to get her to make a decision either way today, so Clark can schedule another game if they want to do that. It sounds like there will be a basketball game on Wednesday night at Clark County, whether Franklin County can play or not.
  15. Franklin County @ Clark County is cancelled today.
  16. That may have been what they told you, but FC never said that. They were highly disappointed the game was not played. If for no other reason, they were upset their kids didn't get a shot to play the #1 team in the state. I know the administration at the Board of Education know how upset the FC staff was about this game, and the silliness of their policy, since all the roads were fine the day of the game.
  17. Again, I will use the term 'misinformed'! There were many attempts made to make-up the Scott County game. The schedules for the two teams were on opposite tracks. Scott County over the last few weeks of the season since they were supposed to have played have played an unusual schedule. They have had games on every different night of the week. Some were make-up games, but many were there regularly scheduled games. SC had games scheduled on Monday and Saturday the rest of the way. While FC had games schedule on Tuesdays and Fridays the rest of the way. This made scheduling the games very difficult. Not to mention, Franklin County hasn't been in school the last 8 days, so no road games were allowed to be played by the Board of Education. The two teams have played each other the last few years. The last two game were tight games, won in the final minute by Scott County. If they weren't afraid to play them the past two seasons, when I believe Scott County was a much deeper and more feared team than they are now, then I highly doubt they are avoiding them now.
  18. That is an interesting and misinformed quote. Why would you think that? They tried several times to reschedule both the Scott County and Tates Creek game. Tates Creek was moved 3 times before they ran out of options. I don't they play one of the toughest schedules in the state because they are dodging teams. I also know they already have options on the table if the game Tuesday is cancelled. The superintendent is the one who keeps cancelling games for Franklin County. They were ready to come to Scott County when the superintendent pulled the plug. If school is out, she has not let anyone travel. Don't just make-up statements about things which you obviously know nothing about!
  19. 43rd at Tates Creek Feb. 22: Tates Creek vs. LCA, 8:00pm Feb. 23: Lafayette vs. Lexington Catholic, 8:00pm Feb. 24: Paul Dunbar vs. TC-LCA winner, 8:00pm Feb. 26: Finals, 8:00pm
  20. Franklin County takes separate buses to every boy-girl doubleheader. Usually whichever team plays first(6:30pm) has a JV game before the varsity game(5:00). The second varsity game is at 8:15pm.
  21. Franklin County @ Tates Creek is cancelled tonight. The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 11th.
  22. I would scratch the 4 in bold from the list without hesitation. The only one I would add is Kevin Walters. I have been extremely disappointed with the BBA this year. They haven't been very consistent in how they call games in my opionion. Once again, I wish they would go out of region for officials for the 11th region tourney.
  23. FC is now 14-5 and just whipped the #1 teams in the 5th & 8th. They must not be too bad.
  24. That's a pretty good week for the Flyers . . . whipping the #1 team in the 8th and the #1 team in the 5th!
  25. Vance Hall scored his 1000th point for his career at Franklin County today vs. North Hardin. He needed 16 points to reach the milestone, and had that by halftime. He finished with 32 points, as Franklin County won easily. Congrats!
