As I am sure it isn't the first time for many coaches = coaches sometimes getting carried away has been part of the game since naismith and the peachbasket.

Pretty Sure Perry Co. Central won the Varsity B division.

Pretty Sure he was working hard and trying to make his kids better. If the referees get imtimidated that easily they need to find a different way to supplement their income. Part of refereeing is dealing with coaches just like coaching is knowing how to handle kids. Young Referees need to learn how to handle situations like that just like young coaches need to learn how to handle players. If summer is for learning then officials can learn to handle coaches too. I'm sure it was never personal and I can guarantee profanity was never used. Besides, Refs have the ultimate equalizer a quick T is good medicine for many an irate coach- especially in a close game. From what I saw, he wasn't the only one that was displeased at times with the referees (many showed their displeasure just as bad or worse) - I just think he is pointed out more often because of his size and booming voice. Let's make sure we know the power of words when we decide to post that a coach was acting out of line. I'm sure he would have been open to your criticism if you would have found him at the camp and let him know what you thought.

Estill County Finished 11-3 in the Varsity B Division. They were second seed in the Tourney Sunday (With Perry County Central being the #1 seed). Lincoln WV beat them in the Semifinals of the Tourney. They finished in fourth place out of 20 teams.

The other 3 coaches in his district were present and he averaged about 23 ppg on them - they were voted on by the coaches of the respective districts - would be nice if coaches in the 14th would quit scratching each other's backs and reward the kids for their accomplishments.

What makes him so impressive is he is so athletic jumping off of one foot. Most jumpers these days jump off two feet. He flies high off of one. He puts me in the mind of Former All-American and Japanese Pro player from Georgetown College Jason Woodard. That is a super compliment because Woodard was a spectacular player.

Knowles is a definite high flyer - One of the most athletic in the state - no doubt.

I hope you mean they play well at home, because they NEVER have an advantage in the officials department. In the Breathitt game there were two or three questionable calls late, but to be fair they missed two late free throws and missed about 5 lay ups over the course of the game so it wasn't a factor.

With one senior and starting 3 sophomores, Estill can win any game on their schedule and lose any game on their schedule. That makes them an unpredictable and dangerous opponent. Just a note - Estill only made 3 3point shots in this game, so maybe they don't live and die by the 3 every game.

Taking nothing away from Lee County. Didn't see the game but it is always impressive for a mountain school to compete with the superior atleticism of the Lexington schools. Lee County is a good team, congratulations and good luck in districts.

High School Basketball is all about matchups. Henry Clay has a hard time playing against sagging man and zone defenses because their strength is athleticism and getting to the basket. When you take away driving lanes and deny the ball to Moses in the post, then HC struggles. When teams like trinity play them straight up, then they get to play to their strengths and athleticism. When teams like Lee and Estill play zone and sagging man and force them to beat you from the outside, then the complexion of the games change and less athletically talented players can compete with athletically superior players.

Grade 2 ankle sprain is what his mother told me.

Berryman was about 80% he had reduced lateral movement and was a step slow. Christopher had 14 points and 6 assists. Estill got good play from Napier with 10 points and a new addition 8th grader Roberts provided a spark off the bench.

Very good person and the injury doesn't look good.

New Gym at Montgomery = Rison Center - IMO really needs to be considered

They lost 7 seniors and Start 3 sophomores. They are very young and as with all teenagers - you never know what they are going to be like on a day to day basis. They have competed well this year despite losing 30 points and 20 rebounds a night to graduation. Their sophomores are talented but inexperienced.

I agree they are well coached and a very good and experienced team. Thank you for being one of the only ones to admit that the Estill County team will have some say in who plays in the 56th district finals. It will be a war in the first round for sure.

Bobcat hate to disagree with you but I think the score dictated just how close it was. It wasn't a two possession ball game because Berryman was fouled badly on the "wild" 3 pointer he hit at the end - it just wasn't called. Don't agree that the Bobcats were flat I think they were confused a little by the 2 or 3 different defenses they hadn't seen from Estill before. It was a great ballgame and Kenny Brandenburg is a warrior that in my mind kept the Bobcats together in the first half with 3 longer than NBA 3's. Fetters carried them in the second half when Estill focused on Kenny B. The game was hardfought and congratulations are in order for both teams. Congrats to the Bobcats for the #1 seed.

Estill shot poorly again and were rubbery legged after feeling the effects of a few "tough" practices. But they battled through and gutted out a win. Josh Napier stepped up big with 17 points. Looking forward to Friday night in Estill vs. the Bobcats.

Estill was 4 for 21 from 3point range - hardly shooting the lights out. Poor showing by the Engineers.

Believe he had 12. He was big in the 1st half.
