... The biggest potential I forsee would be the rain. It could possibly take away the glitter of it all. Hypothetically, the rain could turn Clark Field into a mud bath with the newly reconditioned field. A wet and muddy field could change the game plan for a running team and really slow down the game for fleet-footed receivers and challenge the game for a passing attack. Man I certainly am not wishing for rain. It would change everyone's "A game". Of course rain and a muddy field will certainly help the lessor of the teams. A good "mudder" team would certainly have the advantage. How is the new turf looking?...

All 3 Pulaski teams strap on the gear for the annual epic battle of Pulaski County teams Aug. 24th at the Ray Correll Bowl @ Somerset. With the addition of powerhouse Rockcastle County rounding out the foursome. This event is expected to draw fans from miles around. You can bet that there will be many, many scouts there from all the other schools that do not begin their season until the 25th(Mercer, Danville, Lincoln, ect.). The Ray Correll always has a packed house for these games and this year will be no exception I foresee the stands full of fans and the Track lined with many, many more. All three of our Pulaski County teams do have great support, as does the Rock coming from the next County over. See ya' on the field. Good luck to all...:thumb:

Jumper 1, you are a little biased. Of course, so am I. The best team in this County is by far Southwestern. Even with Cole, SHS needs to show me that they are a complete team. A great receiver is not going to win the games by himself. SWHS is a well balanced team with alot of individual very good athletes. Give us a little credit please. We did beat both the other schools last year, PC twice. We all lost seniors and what it boils down to who can reload the best. I think we have the best Junior class that SWHS has ever had and alot of those Kids have really stepped it up. The proof is in the pudding...:thumb:

Its going to be a real barnburner(s) on Aug. 24th. It is always tough when our local Kids butt heads. I do think that Somerset should not take PC for granted as a walk in the park. Their final two games of last season were against SWHS and they were a hard-nosed team. Winston Hines and Ronnie Claiborne, along with other PC players have got my respect same as the awesome John Cole. It will be a classic battle. The first game features another underdog (according to some posters) SWHS will open up a few eyes even though they will be playing powerhouse Rockcastle County. The residents of the area will be in for a treat. The place will be a rocking...:thumb:

How is the grass looking at Clark Field? Somerset posters have been quite. Pulaski County posters are almost non-existing, and Rockcastle County faithful have never been so quite. Doesn't everyone know that we got the big Ray Correll Bowl coming up? The 4 top teams in this area need some support, but everybody is hush-hush. It is time to start hyping things up. Help me out there a little. I'll start with saying that the SWHS Warriors will be ready to play. The heat index has not slowed our program down at all. We have worked around it. We have several Kids that have been injured but should be ready to go Aug. 24th at the Great Ray Correll Bowl @ Somerst...:thumb:

... Those players that were out for injury were not injured as a result of the Scrimmage, but were injured in practice the last couple weeks...Also this game was played under game conditions with punts and kickoffs were not live. Refs, scoreboard,camera, and action...:thumb:

Keemo jost arrived home after a good Friday Football game at the Reservation. SWHS 21.... Russell CO. 0...The young Warriors looked as I expected. We gained good experience playing as a unit. Our Seniors showed good leadership and our Jrs. and Sophs stepped up. We will improve on a daily basis. Our Coaching Staff is outstanding and our group of Kids are very coachable. I expect a fun filled season. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that we did have several players out due to injury.:thumb:

The Players that are driving would be no problem, but the ones that do not drive could have a problem where the parents have to be at work or have other small children at home to tend to. Going at it earley is good. Unfortunitely here in southern Ky. school started last week...:thumb:

Prepnut, 49 is not old. We all find ourselves busier during football season, and loving it. If I made you to go as far as "dang" me over my last post, then you are going to " double dang " me over what I got to say next. Those Kids need you there for more than equipment repair. They need you there for stability. If I am not badly mistaken, you all have a new Head Coach and probably new assistants. If you are going to be in the bleachers, then you should put your hiney right back down ther on the field. You and the Kids all need that...:cry: :thumb: :walk:

Prepnut, somehow I just can't imagine you being in the stands and not wanting to be out there helping your Kids out. I know that over 9 years you have created a dependency upon helping your program. Unless your health is the reason for your leaving, I see you missing the Kids, friends, alumni, ect...Good luck...:thumb:

Has anyone heard of any special guests, ceremony, or festivities that will be involved with the Ray Correll Bowl on Aug. 24th. A suggestion would to have a delegation of the Somernite Cruise to display some of their beautiful cars...:thumb:

...I Remember the 1st round of the Play-offs in 2003. We visited Louisville Central. They jumped up on us 20-0 before we could turn around. The sound effects were much like an echo chamber, eery :creepy: . The Warriors started a comeback and did so with such authority it hushed the LC crowd and the tide started to turn. They were highly ranked that year and we barely made the play-offs. Nevertheless we went on to win the game with a blocked pass and interception in the endzone 21-20. Wow, what a game in a very tough place to play also. Thanks "swforever" for the memory...:ylsuper:

With company coming (SWHS & ROCK) in the first game on the new turf, it will need to be ready or it could be damaged severely which I do not think would be good for the field for the remainder of the season"s Home games... Just curious 'cause I never get out that way. Will Meece be using the field also?...:thumb:

Any school that has a good 12th man(fans) is usually a tough place to play, win or lose...The Rock definitely has that going on. A non-homer said that...:thumb:
