From what I've seen, both of these young men are great athletes, fierce competitors and team leaders. If they don't get fired up and show some emotion, how can they expect their teams to? I'm sure both know what lines shouldn't be crossed and don't go there. From where I was, It looked like both teams played clean and hard on every snap. But, that's no surprise. They are both well coached.

No arguments here on the importance of the game (District games are more important). But as far as talent levels year in and year out, and competitiveness, The Ashland-Russell series is more of a rivalry game than Ashland-BC. Even though on paper the games count for very little, these two programs want to whip each other.

Great competition year in and year out make a rivalry. That (IMO) make the Cats-Devils rivalry the better one.

As for the question about moving the game to tonight..... Why wouldn't you? Shouldn't have helped one team more than the other. IMO it was a good move. WOW! Anyone else SHOCKED that Brewdog is the only person on here with a negative remark??? Great HS game. Both teams will get better as the year goes on. Belfry had some timing problems early, but got better as the game went on. May is a horse. Nobody will want any part of them in a couple of weeks. Probably next week. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way!

Any word on injuries? We had a couple of kids banged up at the end.

I agree with Frances on this..... post your opinions, we enjoy reading other points of view. But dogging a kids perceived flaws in a public forum is not what this site is about. That is MY opinion. Is it a fact? Decide for yourself.

Frances, I actually got a call from Jay a couple of months ago. I didn't recognize him at first. He is in pretty bad shape. He was in the hospital at the time. Mrs. Catdaddy checked in on his condition and he was released shortly after we talked. I haven't heard from him since.

I believe that it's the newspapers role to report news NOT try to create it. Sounds like someone at the paper has an axe to grind. JMO

I believe it could be because they played alot of good young players. I think they will turn the corner next year.

I can't speak for Ironhead, but I think he was probably referring to Prestonsburg.
