You're kidding yourself if you don't think it was calling attention to himself. I too was shocked by it, probably the thing I've always admired most about X was the program discipline and attention to detail. I absolutely agree that if this were a different player, he doesn't step foot on the field with bright yellow shoes.

Until Manual lost their first string QB on the first drive of the second half, they were rolling there, too. I'm not saying the Rams would have won, but that game stays competitive if Harness doesn't go down. The air went out of that team after the top two signal callers were injured in the same series.

Uh, wrong. They were NOT supposed to beat Warren Central or PRP this year. Some said they weren't supposed to beat PRP last year. And they certainly weren't supposed to beat Male a couple of years before the Trinity game you mentioned. As to this game, this is a young squad with better seasons probably in front of it, but at this point they can knock any team off on the right night. They have to put it ALL together to do it, but they're capable of it. I say X should win, but I won't say they WILL win. We'll just have to see tomorrow. One thing to keep in mind- to X players, PJCS is old hat. To Manual players, it's going to be a special night.

The rain and field condition, along with Male's overtime slugfest with X last week, is coming close to setting up an upset. That doesn't mean it will happen, but this feels like an underdog's night. No Fangman doesn't hurt, either. Manual- somewhere between 12 and 28 Male- somewhere between 17 and 35

Well, you weren't being specific about what you were confused about!:lol: Don't act like I try and patronize you on this subject, I'm well aware that you're up to snuff... but, in my experience, even coaches get confused about the tiebreaker.

I looked it up, and you're correct. I thought they resolved the first tie and then started over, like most systems, but for a three way tie where all three teams are 1-1 against the other two, it stays in the points system all the way.

If Manual beats Male, X would be first in the points for the three way tiebreaker. If Manual is ALSO ahead of Male (at the moment, I believe they're tied or projected to be tied) then Manual would get a home game in the first round, and Manual stadium would be unavailable for X to use, no matter what their records would be. The district record is all that counts in all this, and if Manual beats Male (and X doesn't crap out to Butler) all three end up at 5-1.

If Manual beats H and causes a three way tie, X gets first place in the district on points because of their wins over the top 3A teams, and Manual gets second by virtue of head to head over Male.

Homefield in for any number of rounds would be pretty fine. I only meant for round one.

Or, you could say that if Manual wins, they get homefield in the playoffs... that's a nice thing to be playing for. Especially in a year when your team was written off for dead.

I bet you can think it through. Here's a hint... X would be thrilled if the field wasn't available for their use.

I believe Redman has has been quoted in the past as saying that the game is more important to Manual players than to Male players. Something along the lines of 'Manual's Superbowl.' Of course, when he wins a close one, it's always talk about 'what a great rivalry...'

When going with one letter abberviations, Male is NEVER M. Male is always H. Just look at their field.

Since there is never a time when that's the case, I guess that makes this a non sequitur.

The first factor for seeding is district record. It doesn't matter who beat who. Out of district record in and of itself is a non-factor. For a 3 way tie, you look at the points you accumulate from wins of defeated opponents to determine who is number one. Then you look at who beat who between the two remaining teams. X lost ground on the first place tiebraker with the 10 minute loss to Trinity, even though they played those top 3A teams. I haven't looked at it, but I would guess that those missing points would put Male ahead. It isn't inconceivable that X would actually stand above Male in those points, in which case X could be the 1st seed. Surely, someone reading this is up on the current point standings for R2D4 threeway tiebrakers.
