Knott Central's New Coach is.....
Pat Man replied to Pat Dad's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Let DJ enjoy watching Stuart play! DJ has no designs on coaching KCC. Most of the negative stuff comes from people (for whatever reason), who don't care much about DJ! Pat Dad pretty much bashes every coach at KCC except the baseball coach. Go figure! -
LONG BUS RIDE to Cawood!

Why would you not allow a radio broadcast?
Pat Man replied to Xgrad-JAGdad's topic in KY Football (High School)
Does the radio station call the school and ask permission? I've been broadcasting for years and I always call the school in question for permission, only been turned down twice. I've seen other stations just show up and expect to be given a spot. I don't think you would not be allowed to broadcast because of favortism to any given team. I think radio station management needs to do some PR with the other schools. -

Can anyone say who was denied the opportunity to move up?
Pat Man replied to Oldbird's topic in KY Football (High School)
Knott is roughly 2hrs. and 30 minutes from both Corbin and Middlesboro. KCC asked to move to 3A in the district with Breathitt,Estill,Powell, and Magoffin, and Cawood, but were denied. Fleming County asked and was palced in this district. Knott will play where ever they place the Patriots.Long trip when Fleming and Cawood play next season at least 4 hours.Map quest says 192 miles ... 3hours 53 minutes so add another 45 minutes to a bus ride. Will they play on Saturday? -
Haven't heard anything on the Hornets...Anyone?

Bobby Owens Knott Central 303 yards rushing on 17 carries, 4 TDs had 93 more yards and a TD wiped out on penalties. He only played thru mid 3rd quarter -
[ If Owens breaks loose for 200 yards against Sheldon Clark and Clay County it will be much more impressive than his performance against Jenkins, especially if he leads his team to wins. Last season Bobby had 212 against Sheldon Clark and 384 against Clay County. His season low last year was 161 against Middlesboro and he only played the first half due to injury.

Bobby Owens, Knott Central had 303 yards rushing in 2.5 quarters Friday night, had 93 more yards ,and a TD wiped out in penalties, scored 4 TDs and this Kid never even got a mention in state previews and, Oh by the way he averaged 212 yds a game last season!

Paris 55 Knott County Central 6 (scrimmage)
Pat Man replied to Option Right's topic in KY Football (High School)
The Varsity score was 28- 6 , Knott really hurt themselves with red zone penaties, costing them 1 score, and a chance at another, also an inadvretant whistle:rolleyes: wiped out a long pass down to to the Paris 4 yard line. Paris is a very solid team. -
Like I said before, WKCB has been doing exactly this for 2 years and yes I always call and get permission from the host school to broadcast from their School, and yes I have been denied broadcast rights from some high schools.I also know of other radio staions doing the same thing. Maybe being in the mountains doesn't count!

Knott Central's New Coach is.....
Pat Man replied to Pat Dad's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
KCC wiil be fine with Coach Amburgey...If the Knott County people on here would change the negativity to positive support things would be a lot better in Hindman.Justin brings a lot of energy to the program and believe me the KIDS are feeding off of it. Will Patriots be in the hunt for the 14th? That is yet to be seen, but don't count them out..This will be a solid ballclub! Their biggest task will be getting out of 53rd district which is loaded with Cordia, JBS, LCC, and Jenkins all with SOLID clubs! -
Knott Central will be at East Ridge and Paris at home.
