I guess we shall see. It's been my experience that things like this turn a coach off if they get wind of it, and they generally do. Hopefully someone near the situation can report back how the kids faired when they've graduated to sate my curiosity. Also D1 at a Lower Mid-Major University is a bit different than D1 at Penn State, so I'd also be curious to see if they did get a D1 scholly if it was to a powerhouse or an outhouse. In other words did their ultimate destination get reduced after this incident or impacted at all.

Right..... which is why I said D3, because no coach giving out athletic scholarships would want a kid with parents like that anywhere near their program.

Wow, considering this is all true, (and I have no reason to doubt it is not), what do you think the chances are of the kid whose parents got him to resign receiving something other than a scholarship at a D3 institution.

I though he was going to coach collegiately. I believe it was disclosed a while ago. or am I getting him confused with someone else.

I'm pretty certain that having SK's assistant principal on hand that night to witness things, and him assuring our AD that the situation would be handled, pretty much quieted and calmed what could have been a very bad situation. All of our hats were off to the Pioneers for that. At the end of the day we're all from the same school system and wish each other well when we're not facing each other.

Good. I had a first hand experience with her this year that soured me on her tenure. Good deal for the kids too.

Not surprised if its true, I heard that was one of her potential destinations. Glad she's taking a second chance somewhere else.

Plus she played for TEAM USA leading up to the start of the HS season, and since returning hasn't missed a beat. I can't imagine there's any truth to the rumor and it was probably started by a Penn St. fan. lol

Beechwood has their entire team back minus one Senior. They were decent this year, and will be better next year IMO.

If you'd have watched the streaming video of her in the State Semi-Finals you wouldn't ask that. She put on a show that had the announcers spewing praises even when NDA lost the point and eventually the match. LOL But seriously, I have no idea and hadn't heard that. I know she injured a shoulder a few years ago. That's it. She is worth being excited about, and I'm glad to hear that Cardinal fans are looking forward to her arrival. She is a great kid. First Class person in anyone's book.

Now that was kinda harsh..... and though technically right on your timeline a little clarification needs to be added. First, not many kids play as Freshman or Sophomores at major D1 Programs such as Penn State, and just to be on the team for two years, on scholarship, to me says something. Two, Libero's paying for one or two years is common across Division 1. It's also common for outsides and middles and setters to be asked to pay for one of their years too. Not everyone gets four full years paid for. How do you think they keep their rosters so large? Lastly, Ellie coming home is not due to her skill level or playing time, and I expect to see her playing D1 again closer to home. Why she left LSU is her business and I won't air it here. And since when does Murray St, Ohio U, UNCE, Georgetown, Wright State equal Penn State, LSU, and Xavier????

You left one thing out.... after 2013's seniors left Morgan returned in 2014. You don't have another Morgan in the wings. Also, I don't think I said they'd suck. I'm not that stupid. lol Just that the gap isn't as wide as it once was. We shall see. Conventional wisdom says bet on the Panda's, but we'd be doing a disservice to the other programs if you don't recognize them as well. Beechwood will present a serious challenge to NDA in their district next year, and so will several others in the region. Can't wait to see it all shake out. BTW - Who are the D1 players coming up to match the 2013 or 2015 class? Just curious.

NDA next season will not be the shadow of this season... Sorry if that offends people but its true. NKY has only produced one Morgan Hentz and she is a senior this year. Next year NDA will be good, but good is a far cry from where they are now. Cooper will be very talented, probably the most talented overall. Ryle will have a say in things and hopefully people figured out that St. H has several returning studs too. Beechwood should improve. Conner will be ok and though they lose a few they should be able to reload those pieces. Scott will drop off without Jessica Tapp, Simon will drop farther, Boone also... Campbell Co will be about the same. Walton should be about the same if not better. Grant will drop alot due to the huge senior class. Dixie will be below the top tier, Villa will drop off considerably, I'm not sure about Holy Cross.

I would too. I suggest you speak with folks in the program if you want to discredit any of it. I think I've counted four separate voices who have spoken to the truth of this subject alone.

Again, I realize where the kids play.... but the coach said it according to several that spoke to me. That was just one example of issues the parents have had with the coach, which is why I labeled it exhibit A. It makes no sense for a coach to say that, I agree. They have gone to the administration and thus far the administration has turned a blind eye/ear to their complaints. Regardless of what you believe the kids need to be commended for making it to the regional final, which was the intention of my initial post. I'd really rather not be the voice of discontent about another program, especially one that is so successful, but if you've notice the lack of defenders to my statements so far from the Cooper volleyball program I think that shouts (not speaks) volumes. There are plenty of Cooper supporters on this forum.

I'm not sure if your hogwash statement, is for my repeating what a parent in the program told me, or towards the coach for saying it. If it's toward me.... I say you might want to talk to those 6 club players you mentioned before you pound your chest any harder.

Exhibit A - I was told by a parent from Cooper that their coach told them they all need to play club if they want to make varsity next season, and they all need to play at Crush. Nowhere else. And No, neither I, nor the parent who told me this are trying to be funny. The coach actually said she wants them all to play at Crush and nowhere else.

It's been well documented on here the issues the players and parents have had with the coaches at Cooper. Having friends inside that program I've heard even more I suppose. Basically from what I've gathered the kids are the ones driving that ship now, determined to win in spite of whatever is placed in front of them. Somewhere inside Cooper their are some very good leaders for that team to turn around the way they did. They should be congratulated. Earlier in the season most people would have looked for them to lose in Districts.

No offense to Cooper, but I've been telling people long before this season started, NDA wins the 9th and everyone else was playing for second place. Congrats to Cooper on winning in spite of your circumstance. What an awesome accomplishment. I look forward to seeing how far NDA can go.

With all due respect to the rest of the region.... Scott is better than anyone else hands down. If Jessica Tapp falls and breaks a hip the rest of the teams have a chance. If not, look for them to join NDA in the in the next round.

Just a quick observation after last night. St. Henry looks like they're finally jelling into the St. Henry we know and love, so I look for them to face NDA in the regional finals. The younger kids are acclimating very well to the varsity game, and with all the parity in the area I think they will manage to get past a few teams that might be physically more talented in certain areas. Just my two cents.

Injuries were a factor at Campbell this year as well, and I've heard no one bring that up. I know they lost a couple during the year according to what a parent had told me, and were not that deep..

Congrats to all involved. Brossart and Campbell going five sets doesn't surprise me. I thought they were very similar type teams when we faced them at the end of the season, with Brossart's back row being the difference.
