Notre Dame Academy 3 St. Henry 0 (Region 9 Semi-final)

25-11, 25-10, 25-21. I think the gap between NDA and the rest of Region 9 is a lot bigger than people are willing to admit. NDA will play Cooper in Final on Friday.

1st time seeing Notre Dame play EVER.............it's just stupid how good they are.

How's this comparison.....this is my take.

In a 100 story NKY building

Notre Dame is in the Penthouse

two teams occupy the 50th floor

two teams reside on the 35th floor

everybody else is in the gift shop at ground level or in the mailroom in the basement.

Sorry if my above comment offends anyone, but that's just how I see it.

Thats a strong statement but an accurate analogy that those who haven't seen them play can relate to.

If you are used to seeing team x play team y all the time, and they are all around the same skill level, you tend to think all High School Volleyball is that way, and you don't even know there's a whole nother level at the top. and it makes quite a difference in the watchability of the games.

Looks like 1 last chance to see them in NKY on Friday before they either go to State or Cooper ends their season.

No offense to Cooper, but I've been telling people long before this season started, NDA wins the 9th and everyone else was playing for second place. Congrats to Cooper on winning in spite of your circumstance. What an awesome accomplishment. I look forward to seeing how far NDA can go.

The problem is that there is another building next door from Louisville that keeps overshadowing the NDA penthouse. I think you know who occupies the top 3 stories there.

It's time for NDA to break out the wrecking ball this year!

That actually may be an even better analogy. And what people may not know is the Louisville building is the tallest in the country.

Congrats to Cooper. Enjoy the experience of playing in the championship.

Won't there be a former Panda sitting on the Cooper bench?

Yes....Jenna Schreiver.

Just curious, but what did you mean by "in spite of your circunstance"?

It's been well documented on here the issues the players and parents have had with the coaches at Cooper. Having friends inside that program I've heard even more I suppose. Basically from what I've gathered the kids are the ones driving that ship now, determined to win in spite of whatever is placed in front of them. Somewhere inside Cooper their are some very good leaders for that team to turn around the way they did. They should be congratulated. Earlier in the season most people would have looked for them to lose in Districts.

Exhibit A - I was told by a parent from Cooper that their coach told them they all need to play club if they want to make varsity next season, and they all need to play at Crush. Nowhere else.

And No, neither I, nor the parent who told me this are trying to be funny. The coach actually said she wants them all to play at Crush and nowhere else.

I don't know the Cooper coaching staff from Adam but I find all of this hog wash. Cooper looked to have a new setter running the floor and it made all the difference in the world. I guess the other players put the line up sheet in and not the coach? I don't know when the setting change happened but it was a good one.

I would say that if the coach really said that, and the coach has some personal interest with Crush, then you've got serious ethical issues there. I know in the real world this happens, but the coaches are smart enough to not actually verbalize it.

I know in Louisville it's understood that if you go to a certain high school it's also understood that you probably ought to play for a certain club. However, those coaches also are smart enough that if a player is good enough, it matters not where they play club. There have been Mercy and Sacred Heart girls at KIVA and MAVA, while their coaches were at Union. There have been Assumption girls at MAVA in the past. Now if it comes to a choice between two equal players, the coach is going to give the nod to the one at "their" club. That way they can have a hand in year round development.

Again, hog wash...I don't know about Crush but NKYVC, NKJV, Elevation and any other club worth their salt all do invites at 15's and older and don't even have tryouts. It's a little late for the coach to try to tell them where to play and the coach knows this. I know 6 varsity players from Coooer who are committed to clubs since July.

Again...this is another example of parents trying to cause trouble for a coach who basically volunteers her time. Get over yourselves and let the kids play the game.
