You should never agree with me. I am going to read this book though,I am interested in what the thoughts are. I didn't like church because I knew of the guilt that I would feel after accepting Christ I enjoy church because of the peace that I feel. I am not in the audience as was mentioned, I an there to worship.

Was Jesus expecting too much from his disciples in the Garden when he went to pray alone. I believe that he prayed longer that 12 minutes. If the preacher is being led by the Spirit then I should honor the Spirit and worship God by pay attention. I belong to a church with a preacher who has on more than one occasion flipped the side on a 90 minute tape. Our church has grown 40%-50% in the last 3 years.

All good points, you must have seen both play quite a bit. I can say that I have seen both only on the field together as opponenets. Different styles and different personalities but great results from both. If you were to let me have either to build a team around I wouldn't complain. Comparing these two is like apples to oranges. If I were starting a team I would want them both.

I think that the are still a ways from playing their best. It will be interesting to see how they pull together or split in a pressure situation. One defining moment could be significant.

I happen to be at Putnam on Sunday for the better part of the afternoon and watch the players who work at the JFL games. I notice a difference in the way they interact now vs. two or three weeks ago. They seem to be much more relaxed around each other, much more playful. I think that the chemistry is getting better and once everyone is one the same page then the focus can be on limiting mistakes. I believe this team has grown and it is evident not just in W's.

That is one of the little yaks. He is giving his well wishes to the ball carrier on the opposing team. Funny thing is that ball carrier is one of his best friends. If the Lord allows maybe someday I will get to watch him on Friday nights.

I believe that Coach Evans will do what he feels is best for the team. He will be right sometimes and he will be wrong sometimes. He will always be a good role model for these young men and will always expect them to give all. It will be 3 or 4 years before you realize fully the impact that he will have. Until then we should all support him.

Donald gave me a hat once and I hope to wear it someday. It will only be worn for one day then retired. I believe this East team will get considerably better as the season goes on and the pups get experience.

The results belong to God and not the church. We can't get caught up in "look at what we've done" If we do what is asked of us God will take care of the rest. Absolutely we should minister out in our communities. If we do that and people see Christ in us they will be drawn. Were you not drawn to God before you accepted the gift of salvation. We must go and serve, if we do God will call and he will receive the glory.

He does this as well as anyone. It isn't easy to be diplomatic and get the reps you need to perform. I would like to see them get tested and face a little adversity. I didn't say lose just grow as a team. While the past two years have been great, each time needs to find its own identity. This character is built when stretched and tested.

We are told to go I agree, we stumble when we lose sight of the purpose. All things can be used for God's glory if we maintain our focus on him.

My church has no gym and in a way I am glad. My kids love youth sports and it takes a lot of our time. I feel good that they can learn that the most important decision in this life is what you do with Jesus and not whether you should go for it on 4th down.

Tough to do and not catch grief. Russell must play the starters to build continuity and at the same time not run up the score. I hope they find the right balance and do well in the playoffs.

Seems like Russell's district is weaker than usual this year. Morgan down, East down, West still down. Will this make a difference come playoff time?

To GOD be the glory. I agree about Saturday. I we take him hunting it will be on the Damascus Road and we will need GOD to intervene. All things are possible.

I agree with that statement as well. We are "in the world, not of the world" If we as church members begin an endeavor as a ministry, we must make sure that the focus remains on GOD. We also need to be careful not to disguise an outing as a ministry when our motives are different. Hey Doc if we took an unsaved turkey hunting and witnessed while being armed he would definitely listen. Remember focus on GOD.

I agree with you RL. The message needs to be the focus. I believe that in Acts when the early church was forming. People were being led by the Spirit and the bible says that God added to the church daily. We need to listen to the Spirit and obey.
