All Im saying is this doesn't seem like that big of a deal. The kid didn't spit on the C or "STOMP" at midcourt. I don't think he was trying to disrespect CovCath. I would guess he does this at home games also. I've seen a lot worse in this generation but you guys are right, there is a huge huge huge difference and someone will say something to him I'm sure. And I agree someone should say something, it should stop after tonight. If no one does, then I'm sure your right. Things will take care of themselves.

If this is the case, sounds like were kinda blowing up about nothing. Kids are kids, how can you not laugh at that???? Its not like he's pulling a Randy Moss and wiping his "you know what" with a CovCath T Shirt. I've been around CovCath basektball for some time now, and I've seen and heard a lot worse come out of that student sections at times.

I agree about Brossart. I think they could do some damage and play spoiler this year in the 10th. Possibly a ALL A Regional title also. As for CovCath though. I think they have a lot to prove. I don't think this team finishes in the top 10 this year. They really don't have the scorers on this team to take them places they've been in the past. Add a tough schedule and a tough district, this team has lots of work to do. They will rely on tough defense and rebounding. Alot of offensive rebounding if you get my drift.

Ok thats what was called, but one more question What if the kid air balled due to the violation??? The defensive player steps in the lane and distracts the shooter. The shooter then shoots an air ball....same call?? This was not the case, but just interested.

Yes this is the 7th Grade Knights team. This team is very good. I believe the Knights (old Wolfpack) have been one of the best teams in the state for the past 2 or 3yrs. They can compete with almost any 8th Grade team in the league and are showing it this year. They haven't lost to an 8th Grade team yet. The talent and size they have is just as good as any of the 8th Grade teams. I'd put them against a few Freshman Teams in this area and would think they'd still win.

I have a question. In our game the other day I had a player at the free throw line shooting the bonus. He shot an air ball. But one official had called a lane violation on the non shooting team. Whats the call?

This game was a very good match up. I think Knights went on to win by about 10 or so, but it was very tight through out the game. Just got away from the Rockets at the end. I think the Rockets were missing a couple guys.

Fredricks is a nice player, but he's nowhere near where Nesto was as a freshman. He's got talent and could be very very good, but Nesto is one of the top 5 point guards I've seen in NKY since I started watching. With that said I've only been watching HS BBALL around here since 1997 or so.

I've been coaching against watching Cameron for a few years. He has an outstanding jump shot and is very good going to the rim. I might be wrong here, but I think its his size that will keep him on the Freshman level. But this kid will be a very nice player.

Congrats to St. Henry alumni Jordan Griffin, who walked on at Coastal Carolina this year. After two summers of hard work and personal training Jordan was informed before this season by head coach Cliff Ellis that he would be kept as a walk on at Coastal Carolina. Tonight he got to see a minute of scrap time at Cameron Indoor Arena vs Duke. Very cool to see a former Crusader playing vs Dukies. Jordan hasn't always been the most talented player on his teams, but he was always one of hardest working kids. Never complaining and giving extra effort at everything he did. Congrats J Bird!!!

Bir does play basketball and is a very nice inside/outside threat. Murphy/Ward/Fredrick/Egbers will most likely be the 3 guard rotation. This doesn't even mention the talent they are getting from St. Joe's Crecent Springs. They were one of the best 8th Grade Teams in the area last year. I believe they had a kid named Sawyer with decent size. Im not sure on all kids from St. Joe's. I do know the biggest kid from St. Joe's went to Holy Cross. He had been a beast the past few years. But I don't know how much bigger he will get.

The best CovCath team this year will be the freshman team. LOADS of talent coming in this year.

I really don't see the big deal. I understand it adds up, but wait till you get to High School and you paying $5 a person or $10 for district and regional tournaments. Its a business and truthfully it sounds like they are doing there best to keep it competitive with other facilities. Would you rather be going to SOAS every weekend and playing or would you rather be traveling all across the state of Kentucky playing at any gym they can find. When I played AAU about about 10yrs ago, I believe we would play anywhere. From Whites Tower, Simon Kenton (new and old gyms), Dixie (new and old gyms), Ryland Heights, Summit View, I think we even played at a rehab center in Ft Wright. We traveled everywhere. And then the state tournament was held anywhere from Clark Co to Scott Co to old Lex Cath to Lafayette. I think its pretty nice and pretty well run facility. Im quite jealous. I think some parents need to just suck it up. Also I've coached for years at SOAS and I've seen a lot worse refs. Heck sometimes, I see worse refs in High School ball. They guys are out there to help out and make a few extra bucks. They aren't college and NBA refs and never will be. They understand that.

There are 8 teams in the 8th grade division: WARRIORS TRI STATE WARRIORS NKY ROCKETS KY KNIGHTS (8th) KY KNIGHTS (7th) NKY JETS GATORS CELTICS The KY KNIGHTS used to be the Wolfpack. I think the only 7th Grade team is the KY KNIGHTS team.

You have no idea what your talking about. Holmes always has a good team in the area and usually one of the best in the state. Look at history.

7th Woflpack beat 8th Wolfpack by 10 or so. Jets lost to Rockets 33-36 I believe.

Im sure he's referring to schools that have football. Its an untrue statement about schools hinting to play 1 sport. In the past there was more truth to that than now, especially at Boone and CovCath. I think each varsity coach no matter what sport, believes his sport comes first when in season. Thats where those untrue rumors fly about coaches telling kids to only play bball or football. Its also an untrue statement on why Anderson, Hils, and Bessler are at St. Henry. I know the families very well and the reason they are there is because they want the kids to get a good education at a good school. The 3 boys we talk about all wanted to go to St. Henry for many reasons (educations, good coaches, good people). Not because they can play more than 1 sport. Thats not a reason at all. Yes I believe St. Henry started the male volleyball team last year. They play in the spring vs many OHIO teams I believe. Bessler is quite the athlete. I can't imagine how good he'd be on the football field, especially at a WR slot position. The kid can fly.
