I agree with you. Why do they announce frontrunners for the award if the prior years don't matter. Do you think the level of competition the candidates played against should be taken in consideration?

The 3 best seniors I've seen are Dunaway.Slaughter and Buckner. This award does not always go to the best player. If you remember Curtis Pulley had the best stats last year and Tilford won which was a surprise to me. All 3 of the above had similar stats with imo Dunaway played the hardest competition night in and night out. All 3 are deserving in my opinion. We will see in a couple of weeks. That won't matter. Rick Jones won it at Scott Co. averaging 18 points a game. Walt Allen will probably win it this year and his numbers are not that great. Personally I like Pettigrew as the top pick but I'm not figuring the politics in.
