  1. That's a pretty tactless thing to say. You know, there are people without legs who may find that offensive! :fight:
  2. He seems a little short and heavy for a #2. But if he's got the legs for it...
  3. Simple question. Who will have the best team in 2007? I've picked two teams from each class, so there's a high probability, that your team isn't one of the 12.
  4. GT's comment was directed at me, because I said I wasn't impressed.
  5. Thanks. I was wondering about that. I wasn't sure who he was running behind.
  6. Qualifying has been cancelled and starting positions will be based upon driver standings. Boris Said will NOT be racing at Watkins Glen. Said is a DNQ.
  7. 30% round sand (masonry sand) mostly medium to coarse in texture 30% manufactured angular sand (DOT crack and seal sand) mostly coarse to very coarse 20% silt 20% clay You can replace 5% of each of the sands with 10% calcined clay/infield conditioner. You also want to finish off with a calcined clay or infield conditioner. Dragging it into the top couple of inches will improve playability and water management. Or you could just go buy Marmix.
  8. I don't think it should be taxed in the state you win it in.
  9. I don't think they suck, but I do think they're terribly overrated.
  10. I plan on doing two things. 1) Ask lots of questions 2) Travel - There's a whole universe to explore!
  11. What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
  12. Everything I've read says he'd be stupid not to. The value of the ball is very unstable and is expected to head down over time.
  13. I was not impressed with either Doug Johnson or the pass defense. Based just on this game, Rowe becomes backup and Johnson moves to #3. The secondary and the DL both had good moments during pass plays, but they never seemed to occur at the same time. At one point the Detroit QB stood back there forever looking for a receiver. Good coverage, lousey pass rush. There also seemed to be a lot of blown coverages. Graham, I'm not worried about. I know it was an inside stadium, but he still looked good on KOs and FGs. The miss at the end of the game was no biggie. Hey, its preseason! I was also impressed with Chris Henry. He caught some passes that he would have dropped in the past. Green did a great job as returner. He seems to make intelligent decisions during his returns.
  14. I'm back. Who gets to pick the appraiser? The IRS or the taxpayer? Personally, I'd pick about 5 of them and take the appraisal that has the lowest amount on it. If the IRS wants to fight my value, they can pay for their own appraiser.
  15. Section 61 deals with the definiton of gross income, it lists 15 specific items: (1) Compensation for services, including fees, commissions, fringe benefits, and similar items; (2) Gross income derived from business; (3) Gains derived from dealings in property; (4) Interest; (5) Rents; (6) Royalties; (7) Dividends; (8) Alimony and separate maintenance payments; (9) Annuities; (10) Income from life insurance and endowment contracts; (11) Pensions; (12) Income from discharge of indebtedness; (13) Distributive share of partnership gross income; (14) Income in respect of a decedent; and (15) Income from an interest in an estate or trust. Prizes and awards are discussed in section 74. Windfalls are only mentioned once in the code, and that having to do with annuities. But since you obviously know more than me about taxes, I'll leave the thread to your expertise.
  16. The actual value of the ball is unknown. And I'm guessing you have never worked with an appraiser. Ask three different experts what the value of something is and you'll get three different answers. That's why they usually ask what you want the value to be before they start. It determines how they come up with their range of values. If I give the ball to charity, when do I get to deduct it? Not until the charity sells the ball. Only then can I fix a price for a charitable deduction. Same should apply for receiving an item of unknown value.
  17. Actually the experts are split on this. IRS refuses comment. If he's smart he gets a very, very good tax attorney to handle this fight.
  18. There are NO taxes to be paid as long as he holds the ball. Once he sells it, the proceeds are taxed. If he holds it for a year, he can get a lower capital gain tax rate.
  19. In other words, "Who's your Daddy!"
