  1. Clinton was from Arkansas, not Texas. But I digress...
  2. They're predicting a record high of 100 degrees in NKY on Friday.
  3. Let's keep on topic, and that topic is NOT Mormons and Muslims.
  4. I believe that man has an influence on the macro-environment. i read an article that said that agriculture in China and India actually stopped another ice age some 10,000 years ago. Achilles made a comment about farting, but in fact, domestication of animals and the increase in the human population has added significant amounts of methane to the atmosphere. Clear cutting of forests has done additional damage to the environment's ability to process CO2. Farmland actually adds to the problem instead of helping it. But we also need to keep in mind that there are natural cycles going on. Every 125,000 years or so, the Earth heats up significantly, upwards of 8 degrees centigrade. It happens relatively quickly, and from looking at previous cycles, it looks like we're due. In the past, there has been a large amount of ice melt during these upswings. There are other cycles involved too that effect our environment. I agree with Rmom, that we should do what we can to protect our environment. But we should also keep in mind that what we do may have little effect compared to those conditions beyond our control.
  5. Let me start off by saying that me, my kids, my parents, my wife and her family are all from public schools. But I'm so tired of hearing the public schools crying, I'd back the private schools if they chose to leave the KHSAA and form their own league. In NKY alone, you would have Cov Cath, NewCath, St. Henry, Notre Dame, Villa Madonna, Bishop Brossart, Holy Cross, Calvary, Covington Latin and a few others. All future state champions could get an asterisk by their name. Since the new league could drop recruiting rules, they could steal players from public schools all they like. They could also invite teams from outside the state or public schools inside the state to join with them. Or we could just leave things alone and quit whining.
  6. I agree. You don't pay him pro bowl money because of his knee problems. But if it gives us some potential at LB and allows Trotter to continue playing in the NFL, why not make an offer?
  7. JMO, but Reid and Trotter aren't exactly best friends. Plus the Eagles now have Takeo Spikes to play MLB.
  8. We need to ban farting. Methane is very bad for the atmosphere.
  9. 7 NCC 5 LaSalle 3 Boone County 2 Beechwood 1 Campbell County TB - NCC
  10. It's got to be Holmes. They were so fortunate to be moved to the same district as CCH and HHS. (Sorry, I couldn't find a smiley dripping with enough sarcasm.)
  11. Picked in the 5th round. But Vick is still available.
  12. If SOME of you want to discuss Mormons or what it takes to get to heaven please start a new thread. Rookies. :irked:
  13. Why do we want so many teams in the playoffs? I hate the idea of having teams in the playoffs that have sub-par seasons. It also increases the odds of a top ranked team being upset.
  14. But I was looking forward to all those nifty sports celebrity trial sayings: "If the dog don't bite, you cannot indict."
  15. A hegemony led by the U.S. would definitely be on my agenda.
  16. I don't mean this to sound racist, but I did hear one (black) comedian ask, "How many millions of dollars does it take to leave the ghetto?"
  17. Word is that they accepted the deal when they found out that the grand jury was looking at piling on additional charges. The plea agreement effectively quashes that.
  18. I suppose you've noticed that I haven't proposed my own party? Too much work, too little time. In other words, I'd have to think extra hard. :sssh:
  19. That's what I was thinking, although I could also see a suspension for this season and the next in case he gets released early. A Michael Vick who has turned over a new leaf could be good publicity for the NFl.
