Good Luck to the Dragons this week!

Sometimes things like that happen. LCA and Hazard last year. LCA destroyed the Bulldogs in the regular season and then the Bulldogs repaid them in kind about 3 weeks later. Who knows what changes?:idunno:

OK. I think the talent level is still close, JMHO. Lynn Camp won last year against the Dragons with many of these same kids from this year on the field then, too. Tyrone was the only running back we had to play consistently by that time of the year. Steele was gone, Wagner (our other back) was out and we were a physical wreck all of last year. Most of the kids on the field against Harlan last year were either young, broken or both. It was a bad year. Many of those same kids are back and healthy. Both teams had the same attrition rates, for the most part, to graduation. We have two of our missing running backs back, many of the same linemen, same center and most of the same kids back on defense. I just can't see why Harlan should have just mopped the earth with kids they did not mop the earth with last year. I still say they are near equal.

This has became a toss up game. KC is really in a "must win" situation now from a confidence perspective. They had a good win over Middlesboro, won a tough one over a beat up Williamsburg team, lost a couple of rough ones to Clay and Somerset and then came up short against NL. They need a assertive win, but I can't see them blowing out MCC. 8756, both of these teams have been traditionaly down in football and both are learning to win. KC has the better tradition, but tradition gets tossed out the window on a lot of fridays. This is a game of who wants it the most. Whoever wins will probably do so by 6 or less. Can KC slow/stop Watts? Will MCC have an answer for Canady/Merida? Right now, MCC has the more consistent Offense and KC has a better Defense.

5 starters out. Various injuries. I hope you were not basing your view of LC on the first 3 weeks of the season, lungbuster. That was a brutal stretch and AC or Harlan would have been in the same position as LC afterwards, IMO. LC is playing to potential right now. Defense was the name of the game friday. I think this was a toss up game, lb, and LC played a little better/smarter friday. I think that if these two played each other every week of the season, they would split. LC has around 9 or 10 Seniors on the roster and a few Juniors. The underlasses have a lot of good athletes and contribute. I've said it before, Harlan and LC are mirror images of each other. I would not have been suprised with friday either way it would have went.

I don't know what happened after the half, but the Dragons had Big Mo with them going into the half. Right calls and players were on the field then.

This is usually a war. First District game for both, I think. I have not heard much about the Eagles this year, but I know they are athletic and usually bring a tough mentality to the game. Any thoughts?:confused:

WCHS is the best one win team around. The schedule has been brutal. The Colonels have the talent to win their district and make some playoff noise, but the schedule has been against them.

What is going on in Barbourville? I watched the last part of the game when I got home and KC does not even look like the team that started the season now. What were the stats on Merida and Canady for last night?

1968isacc, it was a pleasure to meet you, too. I thought this might be a 6-0 ball game the way the teams got after each other. I agree with you on the drive to end the half. I thought we were in serious trouble at that point. That was one of the best "hurry up" drives I have ever seen. Did you ever hear how the kid's leg was doing? I talked to some of the assistants while they were waiting on the kids to get on the bus and they told me and my wife that they thought it was just a bad ding and not a break. Any confirmation?

This was a really good high school football game. It had the look and feel of the old Harlan/LC games. LC had a lead for the whole game, but Harlan fought back and threatened with a late TD and on-side kick. Link is an excellent back for Harlan. The Wildcats are starting to click a little on offense, but this was BY FAR their best defensive effort of the year. Meddlin, Ammon and Steele had great games on D. Hats off to LC's defensive front, also. We had 5 starters out due to various ailments/injuries, so there were quite a few kids playing out of position last night. These kids are starting to toughen up. Steele, Persons and Smith all had great nights offensively. LC even had it's passing game going last night. Anyone know how the Dragons' player with the injured leg is doing?

When LCA got a hold on us and beat us (Lynn Camp) like this a couple of weeks ago, I was not suprised because it had happened last year. THIS score suprised me. I agree, LCA is the 1A team to beat for the title.

Root could be a good fit running the ball.

From all I have heard, Root will have to be healthy to strengthen W'burg's defense. They'll need him against Hazard.

Lynn Camp is at home with a lot to prove. They are much more effective defensively against running teams. They are fairly healthy. Calpreps picks LC by 1 at a neutral site. Harlan still scares me.:scared: This will be a good game. isaac, I am going to say: Lynn Camp Wildcats 27 Harlan Green Dragons 24 LC has yet to play to potential. No better time than friday night.

I retired from the army and am VERY familiar with "Oorah/"Hooah" variations. The "Hoo-Rah" they (LC) uses sounds different from the Marine usage, though. There are some fans in the stands that use it that sound like wounded cattle when it gets going loud!:lol::ohbrother:

I think this one is close, too. Napier is also starting to move the ball well for LC. LC can win this game if they play smart ball. Right now I feel Harlan has a small edge, but LC has something to prove, also. I'll pick a score later.

America is a wonderful place!!!!!!:lol: This will be one of those games for this year that I will wish I could have seen. Sounds like it was a fight the whole way through. I still don't buy the favoratism calling accusation. IF it was really going on in a close game, the team they were supposedly calling for would win. Period. Who wants officials that are calling a game for them to call it so they have a close loss???? Just bad officiating and some late finger pointing.... It sounds like this one was just blunder after blunder on calls and the one that mattered is the one that decided the game. JMO. No smoking gun or government cover ups.

But, if they were going to take the game, they would have found a way to take it, if your theory holds water. IF the refs were as dirty as you insinuate above, they would have found a way to give the Jackets a win and the call in the endzone would never have held. IF they were calling completely biased (because of the WC/W'burg connections), why did they not just say "fumble" and give the game to the Jackets?:confused: Jackets had the win without that non-fumble standing. I'm not buying it and I'm a Camper and have seen many, many games up there....:idunno: WHO were the refs? What are their names? You seem to know a lot about them and that would be great info to have for future use....:ohbrother:
