Congratulations on 2 things, Coach Yeagle... (1) Being the best HS head coach I have ever witnessed on a regular basis. (2) Ruining my dreams of winning state my senior year of HS at NewCath, lol. Although I can't say I'll miss you (finally, Coach Schneider can get over the hump!), it will be weird not having the old NewCath/Beechwood Schneider/Yeagle rivalry.

We won't, that's for sure, lol.

My NewCath boys will take advantage of their opporunity to win in this position without Beechwood there. Also, they know a new tradition will start with Coach Schneider's kryptonite (Yeagle) leaving. NewCath 24 LCA 14

NewCath by 2+ TD's. I really hope Bellevue tries to come out passing... it would be a good laugh.

Last time I checked, Yeagle is almost always the reason Beechwood beats NewCath. Also, LCA's coach is nothing compared to Yeagle - he is one of, if not the best coach in the state.

Who all will be at this game? I know tbred and I will be there...

Yes and no. I think 'Ru is overestimating the 2nd round a little bit... but not completely. As I have never once picked the Beechies over my 'Breds, I'll take NewCath in a close game (that I will hopefully be able to attend) that is no more than a field goal to a TD apart. This, of course, is all banking on my (probably foolish) hope that coaching, be it superb amounts as usual on the other side or the lack thereof on our side, doesn't hurt us. Who else? Beechwood. Do we want to beat Newport? Yes. Is it an issue? No.

This is HUGE loss for Highlands. In what was already going to be a tight 3A game, I will say this almost ruins the Birds' chances of winning. Unless something can happen fast to get Mitchell on the field, it looks like Boyle has 6 in a row. Of course, one player doesn't make a team, and Highlands has a lot of other weapons - but Mitchell has been almost everything to their offense recently and a big part of their dominating D. I definitely believe Highlands still has a chance, they always do, but without Mitchell, it's a small chance.
