Team has had a pretty solid stretch here lately, picking up a lot of Quad 1 wins. Sure, let's just mess up their team chemistry and the mentality of any of their players. Call me crazy, but I don't think Reed Sheppard thought to himself after the game last night, I should be starting.

Do you want us all to just cycle back through the same responses again? They win games with them coming off the bench, they don't win very often when Sheppard starts. Why? I don't know but there has to be some value in having them come off the bench, almost like shock value to the opposing team or something. Maybe Calipari is just innovative in this line of thinking lol jk He's not going to play 40 minutes. So I'd much rather him play his minutes when he's playing him than worrying about the first 3 minutes of the game, which have proven to not remotely matter.

Gutsy win. Miss State went 11/25 for 44% from 3 and out rebounded the Cats.

I was worried when Wagner didn't give him the ball initially. Big Z was getting tossed around like a rag doll most the night. Terrible foul by Ugo. Completely awful turnover by Sheppard but he sure carried the Cats tonight, just wish he'd clean up that really awful TO he tends to have. Clutch on D and Free Throws and of course the winning shot.

I don't know how much college bball players pay attention to these things but I really hope that the Cats feel disrespected tonight and come out with a major edge. +3.5 underdogs and only moving up one spot after beating Bama (not sure they should have moved up much more but I want them mad about it).

You raise a good question. I work UC and NKU basketball games, and I've worked a couple Xavier as well. I believe usually the venue is considered it's own entity, working often alongside the Athletic Department, but not exactly under it.

You just want me to sweat haha! But yeah, closing out the regular season with a with at Tennessee would be great. But the masses will blow up again if they go in and lose at Miss St.

I do think he purposefully pushed the player and kinda came off like a clown in his interview about it. Video wasn't kind to him.

And not just player safety in regards to injury, but also player safety from trying to keep one of the players from doing something stupid in a heated moment after a potential tough loss.

I need them to win 3 out of 4 to get to 12 conference wins to secure my season long SEC bet. This is a must win for me.

I just watched the game. One word...fun. Love seeing the guys celebrating Edwards. Everyone was questioning him even playing a month ago and I'm sl glad Cal stuck with him. He does a lot on D and rebounding that goes unnoticed. If he plays with confidence, along with Thiero, what a duo of weapons on the wing.

I don't think there is an official stat but lots of teams track deflections, which I'd count those as such.

Maybe mediocre by this fake UK golden standard that needs to die off now that NIL and the Transfer Portal have taken over and massively changed the game of college basketball. I'm growing tired of the "But this is Kentucky Basketball". Those people will never consistently be happy following Kentucky Basketball ever again. UK is far from a "mediocre" under Calipari, even currently.

Yeah, I just thought it was some interesting statistics to share. They seem to always be one step forward and one step back this year. I do like being more of an optimistic when it comes to UK basketball thought, because if not, not sure I'd really enjoy following them if I was always a glass half empty.
