  1. I was confused by him subbing out Reaves in that moment as well.
  2. Who would've thought before the season started that several of us would've thought/said, "We miss Thiero". His toughness might not have won us the game but I miss it.
  3. Physicality sums it up perfectly. Some of UK players really struggled with it, looking like a pretty soft team ovwrall. Sheppard looked extremely bad and almost like a deer in headlights. I think Big Z got welcomed to the SEC tonight. Wagner really struggled with how physical SC was too. Just a frustrating game. Cats always struggle there.
  4. I don't see how they can do that. Go for it every time it's 4th and short and if you aren't going to score a TD, fumble on purpose through the endzone. That would be asinine if they did that.
  5. I'm glad that I've got that feeling back of being really excited to watch the Cats on game days vs. how I've felt in more recent years of feeling obligated to watch them on game days haha!
  6. Kentucky's defense is definitely awful at times. I think it's probably going to bite us when it matters most too. I do think teams will almost always consistently score more than their average again us because of the faster pace and more possessions. I keep hoping, especially now that we have our three 7 footers, that we will get better at guarding on the perimeter since we have some shot blockers to help protect things around the rim more. Fingers crossed but either way, they'll never be great defensively. Just need to be good enough.
  7. Did LaPorta reaggrevate his knee? Saw the Lions are signing Zach Ertz to their practice squad and will be elevating him.
  8. Incredible talent on the field, but I just can't stand listening to him anymore. That Quarterback show was not good for him, in my opinion. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but even listening to his post-game interview drove me nuts. I don't even know what he says, but he threw in "man" about five times, while talking to a female. Stuff like that just irritates me.
  9. I'm with you on not wanting to platoon. I do like that we can swap in Dilly and Sheppard for Wagner and Edwards. Or swap in Big Z and Onyenso for Mitchell and Bradshaw but I'm not wanting wholesale line changes like platooning. Was fun in 2015 but not an experiment I'm willing to start doing again, especially 50% of the way through the season. Use our depth. Keep legs fresh and if you aren't playing, smart or hard, there is a replacement waiting to get more minutes, just like last night when Dilly wasn't making great decisions, thus less minutes.
  10. He rebounded well for the few minutes he got yesterday, because of foul trouble. Everyone wanting to write off Edwards is a mistake. We need him to find it and have a breakout to add even another massive element to this team with his size and rebounding ability on the wing.
  11. Wagner looked real good attacking the basket again yesterday. Also had 10 assists! Can tell that he's really coming into his game. Even shooting 42% from 3 over the last 5 games.
  12. Haven't gotten to watch the game yet but saw a highlight of his debut. Bet it would've been a lot of fun to be at Rupp foe that today. BBN shouldve put up that billboard a month ago haha!
  13. So we need to start betting the UL's 2nd Half spread lol
  14. Yeah, I don't care how they start if they are winning games consistently, as they have been and overall they look good. I think they need Edwards to find that next gear or his role on this team for them to be truly special in March/April. I don't think that happens by benching him. But maybe a healthy Thiero fits that need, cause he seemed to be pretty tough before his injury that we don't seem to know anything about. I don't care at all about the first 3-4 mins of the first half or second half if when looking at the whole game, they are winning and they seemed to have great chemistry with each other. Start messing with the starting lineup and egos and things can definitely go haywire, thus I say, it's not currently broke.
  15. There's nothing better than attending a game at Rupp. I'm not ashamed to say that it makes me emotional and I tear up during the pregame video when it goes through the history. Whenever I go again next, I think it will hit even a little harder after my die-hard father passed away about a year ago.
  16. FWIW. Wagner currently averages 1.5 turnovers. Reed Sheppard averages 1.4 turnovers. Dillingham currently averages 1.9 turnovers. So the guy consistently attacking the basket the hardest, is averaging just .1 turnovers more than Sheppard. If you want assists, Wagner is currently averaging 3.4 assists, Sheppard 4.2 assists, and Dillingham 4.1 assists.
  17. I don't want the ball in his hands late, which it usually isn't. Agree completely there. With his style of attacking the basket, it is definitely going to lead to a few more turnovers than other guys. Anyone who attacks the rim like him with strength will, but you have to have that component for them to be considered a well balanced team and able to attack you from different fronts. Limiting his minutes would be detrimental. For me, I'd much rather have that style of player early in halves than coming in at the 12 min mark just because we want Shepherd in the starting lineup. It's currently working great. Wagner is a crucial piece for this team being successful in March/April. He brings something to the table that others really just don't. And he's been playing so much better in the past month.
  18. I think you are doing Wagner quite the disservice here. He's been playing much better, attacking the basket and finishing really well. The opening minutes of the second half were rough for him and Edwards, but he's our best player at attacking all the way to the basket and finishing. As teams start collapsing on him more, its only going to open up even more great looks for our 3, maybe 4 if you count Mitchell, sharp shooters. He's bringing that attack mode, which this team needs so they can't crowd the three point line. I think there is a lot of value to the overall team in bringing in Dilly and Shep when Cal does. The change of pace and attack has done wonders for this team. If he changes it, people will just complain when he subs them out and brings in Edwards/Wagner later in the half. Feels like people are suggesting they fix something that isn't current broke.
  19. I think it would be a big mistake to mess with his current rotation. It's working. But many will continue to ignore that and push the narrative that you are.
  20. I keep waiting for him to show some explosion when he drives but its like his legs died on him twice last night when he attacked and got near the rim. I keep waiting to his him flush one on someone, but maybe I should stop expecting it. It's like he's stuck in 2nd gear.
  21. Handled their business tonight. Nice all around team win. Onyenso continues to provide some nice mins. I've been impressed with how he's done, my expectations were pretty low.
  22. UC's opponent's points, while playing at home, in the first half has been one of the safest bets of the season so far. Big time win. Be nice to get another on Saturday!
