  1. I'm getting more and more annoyed with each dumb excuse that comes out and I think Manfred has only made it worse. I'm glad the Astros are in the AL. Keep as much distance from that nonsense as the Reds can. Tell Bauer that he's said his piece, now let's focus on you.
  2. Heck yeah, me too. They can't come out much colder than they have the past couple of seasons. Outside of the opening series with the Cardinals, I'm not sure the teams that are coming to GABP through most of April and May will bring a lot of opposing fans. April might be tough with 12 games against teams projected to win their divisions (6 vs Cardinals, 3 vs Yankees, and 3 vs Braves). Hopefully they can go .500 in April.
  3. Just saw that this was the first SEC home loss for LSU.
  4. Told my buddies at halftime that they were going to need a big three ball or two from Juzang and/or Sestina. Glad I spoke that one into existence. Big win on the road. Got another big game on Saturday!
  5. What do we think his ceiling and floor will be for this season?
  6. That's sort of how I was. I started it once and got halfway through the first season and then got side tracked. Glad I went back to it. I wouldn't say it's my favorite but it's a solid show.
  7. I am using Chrome as well and I have had the locks for as long as I can remember when using my laptop. If a thread is actually locked, the lock is pulled over more to the left:
  8. Just wrapped up The Wire last night. I really enjoyed it. Enjoyed the different "themes" for each season. McNulty and Freeman pulling all that in the fifth season was crazy.
  9. They always have locks for me, when on my laptop:
  10. Just watched the game this morning. So many wide open looks, especially in the first half, from deep and they just couldn't hit them. Good job not turning the ball over though. That's a big positive. I can only afford one more loss on my over/under bet. Hopefully they play real well on Tuesday.
  11. I'd love to see Ethan win, but man. How do you you let that guy sit next to you at the end? I hate to use his cancer/story against him but you have to vote him out before he gets there or you aren't getting the money. I don't like seeing Amber go. But I'd rather her be sent to Extinction over Tyson or Kim. I want Rob to go far!
  12. Could it be Amazon? This line makes me wonder, "a global employer with a significant presence in the county."
  13. He posts a lot of things on his Twitter, which is just @DaltonRoss. Here is the article I was referring to: Survivor: Winners at War season premiere recap: 'Greatest of the Greats' | EW.com
  14. I'd imagine that with everything that happened in Season 39, they thought it would be best to keep their distance from Richard Hatch right now. I mean, during All-Stars he did sort of grind his junk (while naked) on Sue in the middle of a challenge. The next day (I think) Sue quit the game because she was so upset emtionally that she was violated. As for Tina, I was listening to Rob C's podcast this morning and she was the guest. She said that she did receive a call, asking if she would be interested in playing. She said that casting didn't tell her the theme, but that they were considering 3 different themes for season 40 and they were considering her for one of the themes. I can't imagine what theme they would have wanted her for besides All Winners. I think Tina's age may have kept her out. She turns 60 this year. Oldest on Season 40 is Denise at 48 (and she might be one of the most physically fit ones out there) and the average is probably more around 35ish. Maybe they are planning some pretty physical challenges, or maybe with Edge of Extinction they were weary of her age.
  15. You guys are killing me. I will talk to myself all season if I have to haha!
  16. If you listen to podcasts and even if you don't, I highly recommend finding Jim Day's podcast and listening to the most recent episode with Joey Votto. Even if you don't want to listen to the whole thing, go to about the hour mark. The two start talking about their expectations for the season.
  17. I read Dalton Ross' recap last night and I think I'm going to try to every week. A few tidbits that didn't make the show that I found interesting: The champagne toast took forever because many players were extremely skeptical and thought it was some trick to start the game. The first challenge with the ring was actually a best of five. However, to save time, they actually cut two of the rounds because they were so quick and so dominate by one of the tribes that it wasn't worth showing. I thought it was strange that the same players were right back in the water in the rounds that we saw, but that's why. Both Ben & Rob spent time in the voting booth looking for clues under the urn, relics on the shelves and etc. Love it. Apparently Sarah had some type of moment where she went off on her own upset about something on the 2nd day. They weren't sure if it was game related or just the emotion of being out there hit her early. Apparently Tony went off quite a bit in Tribal after some things Amber said, which included something about not liking how Tony plays. And Sandra came to Tony's defense. I am interested to see how long Sandra and Tony work together.
  18. A few thoughts: I love that Rob and Parvati started the game working together and both easily dodged the first boot. Them joking about it on the beach was great. I obviously don't have all the information but I think Rob and Parvati would have been better off going after Adam instead of Natalie. Maybe part of that is because I'm just not an Adam fan, but I feel like I'd have taken him out if I'm them, I'd want to keep Jeremy with them, but they also alienated Michelle. If they vote for Adam, the only person upset is Denise and it seems like she would have seen it coming. Ben is out of his league haha! Watching Rob work his magic on him was great. So glad Rob came back and he at least made it past the first week. Danni handled all that really well in my opinion. I hope she works with Rob and Parvati and the three of them stay safe for a while. Had me worried a little bit when the 2nd tribe started talking about Tyson and then Kim. I didn't want to lose either of them that early. I'm glad it wound up being Amber. Yul coming in hot the first night and it was great to see. As for the producers, that was the first time in 40 seasons that they showed footage of something between contestants that happened outside of the game and I felt like it was a great choice by them. I think I like Yul and Sohpie as a pair. I swung and missed big time on Natalie. A little worried about Jeremy now, but maybe he will be better off without being viewed as a "Power Couple". I think the producers did the two of them a disservice by putting them on the same tribe. I'm intrigued by the fire tokens. I'm waiting for a player that is still in the game to use them as a bargaining chip to "buy" favor/loyalty with an alliance or what not before a tribal. Obviously that's not the intent the producers had but I feel like its bound to happen, unless there is some rule I don't know about.
  19. Natalie isn't remotely a perceived weak target. Outside of Rob and Amber, she had the second strongest partnership entering the game and you could probably argue that since they were on the same tribe, she had the strongest once the game started. Combine that with the fact that she is easily the strongest female and has shown to be a good strategist, calling her a weak target just isn't true. If you broke down the 20 players as far as target goes, she couldn't have been in the bottom half.
  20. Not surprising, but easily the best premiere in as long as I can remember. Probably since Heroes vs. Villains.
  21. Talk about a swing and a miss with my Natalie pick in my draft. Sheesh.
