Good points--AWNP!! Trying to compare Moeller, Elder and the like to a Brossart is absolutely laughable, given the disparages in resources?? St. Henry or NCC would fair comparisons, except St. Henry got their new school in right before the "hold" you refer to, and of course is yet to go the football route. I doubt many schools, small or large, start football programs by building a "complex"; and most use existing facilities until their programs mature and prosper. I know Moeller is somewhat landlocked, but I would have thought they had their own field by now--At least Brossart has one of those??

Where do I start?? Stating that the team that pushed for BBHS football had thought about where they would play is a far cry from "Brossart building their own complex"? What is the following about--"not undercut or nasty comment or garbage about paying taxes"?? Are you responding to others' posts or just venting some frustration?? Brossart does have pleasure of using CC's track and very much appreciates that fact, and has represented the facility well with multiple state championships (boys and girls) over the years!! They have also used Pendry Park as their home soccer field for the last several years, but the last I checked Pendry is a Campbell County public park (like it or not, paid for in part by Brossart parents' tax dollars) and has nothing to do with the Campbell County School System?? They have as much right to that field as anyone!! Everyone out in Alexandria has heard about the disagreements with St. Marys and St. Joes property being used by Brossart[/b [/u] Mark me as apparently the only Alexandria resident who hasn't heard these legendary feuds???? "It is time for Brossart to get serious about its programs." Given the success of the Brossart athletic programs, especially versus their "big brother" down the road; this statement is laughable!! As much as everyone in the Brossart community would like to wave a magic wand and build a new school, complete with a state of the art athletic complex (your word); reality is that takes money, and lots of it!! What you and your compatriots in the CC community fail to forget is BBHS is still a small school, one quarter the size of Campbell, with no public funding. (I forgive you if looking at the athletic contest results between the two has clouded your memory ) When they want something they actually have to PAY for it, and not summon on some reserve of public cash; and this results in the need to get very creative when spending money on athletic endeavors and facilities!! I think if you look around NKY and other areas you will find similar schools facing similar problems/challenges. Given the circumstances I'd say contend that Brossart does as good a job as most in producing athletic success using the limited budgets they've got to work with!! Again, I think the cooperation between Campbell and Brossart's leadership over the years has been a study in good community relations; unfortunately some Camel fans seem to not feel the same sense of cooperation as their elected leaders--Now that's unfortunate!!!!

Actually very much a football fan thanks, and I was at one of the BC victories last year. Please READ the "s" on Boone County School(S) and maybe you'll get my drift--Or maybe I better spell it out for you as in Ryle and Conner along with Boone and Dixie; who you'll have to beat to move on in the new playoff alignment!! It's been great to see the resurgence of Camel football, as I always felt that the biggest question mark in NKY football, was why they didn't win more?? Also for the record, the folks involved with initiating the Brossart football program spent considerable time researching options on where to play, and whether or not to build a field/stadium before starting a program. As with all BBHS endeavors, it was well thought out and throughly planned. It may not have looked so to the outside critics, but remember this was a largely volunteer effort started from scratch; without the benefit of the reams of dollars you often see thrown at similar public school projects!! Doubtful the CC administration will be asking either of us about using the field, so I'm about done with this "discussion". Brossart will undoubtedly abide by whatever decision they come to, and schedule their home games accordingly. Here's hoping both teams have successful seasons!! :thumb: :thumb:

Can't say I can lend any accurate answers to UK Fan 59's eloquent, obviously well-informed response?? I've no idea where the team plans to practice this year, but since all but one (the original) of the soccer fields were new and just growing in last year, I'd not use last year as a measuring stick. You'll have to get someone more informed on the politics of the parish to comment on this one, but I've always found great cooperation between St. Mary's and BBHS; and between Campbell and BB for that matter. I think that truth be known this is ALL just rumor at this point, and some of the CC fans who obviously don't want to see Brossart's five games destroy their field (????) may be getting upset over nothing?? Time will tell, but if I was a Campbell fan, I'd be more worried about how to beat Dixie and the Boone County schools; than where Brossart will be playing their home games, unless of course they're just interesting in attending the games and need to plan ahead??

Another "popular rumor" out CC way, and one that should be considered seriously, especially with Brossart's football program available as a tenant; along with the CC junior programs, the band program, soccer, etc. who could use the field. Might be a good investment!!

They've joined distrcit play and are in a district with Beechwood, Bellevue, Ludlow and Dayton. Not sure about the participation issue, but he is working very hard at that matter and was very visable during basketball and baseball this past year. I've got a feeling they will be very young again, but their is some athleticism in the younger and incoming grades!!

If and I emphasize "IF" this rumor is true, it is indeed the business of the CC school board to make this decision, and not the fans who don't want BBHS playing on the CC middle school field!! "IF" they do decide to let the fellow taxpayers of Campbell County rent this County School System owned facility; I'd assume they've done their homework and feel it makes economic sense!!

Something about those initials (Campbell County, Calvary Christian, Clinton County, Covington Catholic, etc.) that seemed to bring out the best in Jimmy over the years?? Look out Centre College, Campbellsville College, etc. as he moves to the next level!!

I think you guys are missing the point of this thread?? I wasn't trying to discuss which class had the most D-1 hoop's players, or even college prospects/signees; just overall athletically talented kids!! It particularly struck me when I looked back at the '07 BBHS basketball seniors, and the kids I've watched them compete with and against over the years. My intent was to identify how ATHLETIC LY TALENTED this class was, not just in basketball, but overall. I was thinking of kids like CCH's Kurt Bovard or Brandon Brown, Duran Jefferson at Holmes, etc.--Very good HS basketball players that were also standouts in other sports. A kid like Holy Cross's Jimmy Ryan who will be playing baseball at the next level, but could certainly have found a home in hoops!! It just seemed to me that following this group across the state for the last 9-10 years, that they may rank right up there athletically, even though many have chosen to pursue another sport in college????

I've long thought that the class of 2007 might turn out to be one of the most talented classes in recent memory, especially in NKY!! I know this is the basketball forum, so I'll keep this to a quasi-hoops discussion. Who in the state has the most basketball kids going on to play a sport at the college level?? In NKY I'll nominate Bishop Brossart's All "A" State Championship team's eight seniors, who will compete at the next level as follows: Troy Cooper--University of Cincinnati--Track & Field Nathan Mutsch--Xavier University--Baseball Jimmy Uebel--Thomas More--Basketball Josh Kidney--Thomas More--Soccer (Hoops?) Kyle Kramer--Thomas More--Baseball Matt Lloyd--Thomas More--Soccer Bryan Niemeyer--Thomas More--Golf Interesting that although most of these kids certainly had/could have had basketball opportunities, all but one will compete in another sport!! And the only senior who won't be playing a college sport is Luke Rebholtz, and he has a full ride to any Kentucky school as a Governor's Scholar; and will be attending the University of Louisville to study engineering. How about some others--I know there's a lot out there??

Have to agree SirMix--Hated to see Ricky miss most of his senior year due to injury!! Hopefully he'll catch on with a nice college and get to continue his career!!

Looks like CovCath should be very strong the next couple years with all these juniors to be!!

No doubt concentrating on one sport will help his game as well. I have it on good report he's not much of a golfer though!!

Quite a few basketball coaches "assumed" so as well!!

Word is Jimmy will be joining CCH's Todd Jacobs and Kurt Bovard at TMC this year to round out a pretty good hoops' class for the Saints. Jimmy had been considering Centre among other options, but congrats to him on deciding to keep his career going at the next level. I look forward to watching them this season; they should be quite entertaining!!

For what it's worth, I think Andy was actually the assistant AD at LexCath; but still an interesting move, unless he just wanted to get back to the Greater Cincy area?? Sorry I checked and he is/was the AD!!
