According to some Letcher Central people both teams in last week's scrimmage will have some players set out this weeks game but the Breathitt people that I've mentioned this to are saying that the Breathitt coaching staff are telling them that they don't have to. I don't know who to believe. Surely if one team has to set some players the other guilty party would have to. Does anyone know for sure?

I'm not hanging my hat this season on what happened in a scrimmage. I just didn't like the comment that the Johnson Central team was playing last Friday's scrimmage like it was a state championship game. We play the same whether it's a scrimmage or a regular game.

I agree with you scrimmages don't mean nothing but I do take offense to the phrase playing games like it's a state championship. To me it sounds like a crutch for a team that got outplayed no matter what team it is and it's a knock on the team that came out and played the game they way it should be played. I agree we've beat this one to death and let's move on. Best of luck to Bell County this year.

Well let me explain this to you again. I must not have been to clear in my last post. If you would read in my previous post I said that Coach Greer from BELL COUNTY gave the stat to the JC coaches.

No that's how we do things at JC. We play with the same intensity whether it's a game or a scrimmage. If by saying that you thought we were playing for a state championship last Friday night makes you feel any better then go ahead a say it but I would say that it's just a crutch/excuse to make you fell better. I guess giving up almost 400 rushing yards on defense would do that to you. Oh and by the way before you say that stat that I gave you was bogus I just wanted to tell you that it came from Coach Greer himself. The game must of been important to the Bell County coaching staff to be keeping stats in a scrimmage game. We don't even do that.

Yes he played but didn't do to well. He looked great on kickoff's but missed a extra point and a field goal. I was told after the game that he injured his foot. Does anyone know anything about this? I hope everything is all right with the kid.

Well believe what you want it's obvious that know matter what I say some of the Bell County faithful are going to say the opposite. I know who Coach Matney had on the field and I know when he put them there. I'm going to say this one last time the jv played the entire 4th quarter if you don't believe me ask Dudley or Tommy Greer. Coach called for the jv at the start of the fourth quarter and Dudley stated that his varsity needed more work so he left his varsity defense in against the Central jv. Let me ask you this how many times did you see the little tailback that ran through Bell's defense in the fourth carry the ball before the fourth quarter? The answer is none.

Well you're wrong the junior varsity played the whole fourth quarter for Johnson Central. Dudley kept his first team defense out there but Johnson Central used their junior varsity. I know this for a fact.

Johnson Central played their junior varsity the entire 4th quarter. When JC pulled their varsity the score was 29-22 in favor of Central.

Chase is practicing with the team and as a matter of fact I saw his dad in town last night also. I don't know where you heard the second one but that's the first I've heard of that one. The majority of people at the high school were thrilled to see him go. If enrollment dropped and I've not heard that it did but if it did, I can assure you it wasn't because Whitaker left. I think someone's telling you some bogus info.

This would be a great idea and would help with a lot of high travel costs that schools have.

No it's not. This game was originally with Conner and they decided not to play. There never was a return trip to Central because last years game was on a one year contract.
