  1. Not only that, but many textbook publications geared to home school programs really need to be called out.
  2. I am sure the attention is strong. However, it is very questionable and frankly, not proved to be better.
  3. Simple, tell me the textbook publisher being used in your point of view for home schooling. Do you really want to get on this track? Oh, by the way, you want test scores, your from Nor. KY - go and check out the NKYChamber of Commerce website for scores of schools. NOW, tell me where home school specific scores exist.:sssh:
  4. Oh, OK! purely subjective observation. No testing or analytical analysis. Very good! No peer comparision, nothing! And this is better than ANY public school?!
  5. I would love to see what supporting information you could show to make your claim.
  6. I suggest, with the options for education that are clearly available now, you would be the one punishing your kid.
  7. So if a kid who home schools or attends a private school and elects to play at a public school - do not hurt the kid. What about the student who goes to that school, supports that school, is involved in that school - I suggest THAT public school student has more than earned the right to be the one to represent the school not one displaced because someone wants to come in when it is convenient. Those who elect to home school should not have the option to cherry pick what their choice of schooling limits. If the school is good enough to participate in a few of the school programs then all the programs should be good enough. If one feels that strong about it, get involved with the school and make it better.
  8. Congrats to Newport and Coach Schlarman. I think it is just another sign of good things becoming very good to great! It will make a difference.
  9. Harder to do is name a bad baseball movie.
  10. Correction, joker phillips via hal mumme made that point.
  11. Seeing the Camels and Coach Reitz having some fun was a good time. Got to wear my new xmas gift to the game! :ylsuper:
  12. Speaking of transfers, when you won your only state championship your best player lived in Harlan County.
  13. Great, when will the private schools start publishing their test scores?
  14. So a parish pays taxes - real estate? Income taxes? Are you kidding? You make everything sound like a total, one way street. As for helping, why are you so bound and determined to NOT simply provide to a program that is open to all who apply to a private school? It is clear you wish to have the complete flexibility to cherry pick your chosen students who you exclusively wish to attend a private school. Regardless for reasons, you want that. Fine, except in the case for this and in most, if not all states, it cannot be done for athletic purpose. I would be willing to bet the parish you support would not support your point.
  15. You have no facts to base that on. You are simply operating on hearsay. Thanks for making it easy.
  16. What? Go out and buy whatever you desire without accountability? Sure, go right ahead. Bet you cannot find one organization that would find such independence without accountability in anything. As for no rate of return to public education, the tables can absolutely be turned to the private schools - how much have private schools pay society for all its goods and services from government agencies? Given the fact that all of it is tax exempt means the rest of the for profit world carries the free ride the private schools get. It works both ways. As for approach, you have YET to answer any of the proposed questions of you. Why is that?
  17. I will address your proposal. You have completely failed to address the way in how it would be funded and be held accountable. Now, how about answering the questions being asked of you.
  18. You make a silly presumption a student would be better off at a private school. So I will ask you a fairly simple question. What schools would do a better job than say: Highlands, Beechwood, Holmes IB Program, Louisville Male to name just a few. Oh wait, I have already asked just like so many other questions. Your presumption is based on a basis as if the private school would be qualified to accept any and all students who apply. That is just not true or is the case. You are making great leaps of assumptions the private schools actually educate better. That is simply not true.
  19. As mandated by every constitution in every state of the union. Your point?
  20. It is easy to "knee jerk" in the total void of a valid point. You need to settle down. You are being pointed out by your words and default to character labeling and motive assumptions. Read your words - we do not want your problems. Just keep clicking your heels and saying "there is no place like home" and your dreams may be your reality (in a bubble, perhaps). Anyone can run a program of preselecting the people. That is not education. You have clearly pointed out what others who support private schools in this site have clearly pointed out that private schools DO NOT DO! I am never ceased to be amazed by ignorance to say get rid of the trash and do it as well as us. You really have no clue what it takes for so many kids in the public education. Matter of fact, I bet you think it should be more responsibility on the parents for many issues, except you do not even understand there are many without and/or only one parent. Also, your assumption to have private schools take public schools reeks of sounding like you are doing a student a favor. It is really sad. Oh, by the way, all your supposed property holdings - is it driven in a large part by its location and the quality of the public schools or not?
  21. Your position is extremely flawed and biased to suggest public education is available, yet can do better. Better than Highlands, Beechwood, Holmes IP, Louisville Male to name just a very, very few? Care to clarify?
  22. Sounds like a good solution to several of these issues.
  23. Why not build a private high school in Oldham, Bullitt, or where ever the need may come from. Why not reach out vs. coming to? How large will these current schools in Louisville become? 3,000? 5,000? NorKY has private high schools all over the map. Maybe that is the very reason why this is not a hot issue in NorKY.
  24. Just curious when the dumbing down of academics actually occured vs. what other academic program?
