From the sound of things, Dixie needs to make Badin 1-dimensional. Stop the ground game and force them to pass the ball. Easier said than done.

Jamir is a very young reclass, so for him, it made sense to go that route based on his date of birth and his size. However, I can see him lasting less than a year at CCH and then go somewhere else if things don't go their way. He went to 3 different middle schools bouncing around between Turkeyfoot, Holy Cross, and Holmes.

If I’m not mistaken, they have 2 good sophomore qb’s. I believe Courtney was getting looks as potential varsity starter if they moved Harney to a receiver.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that. They have some young guys on varsity, and there will be guys on JV that will compete on varsity in a year or two. With their numbers, they should be fine,

Dixie played mostly sophomores, a handful of freshmen, and a couple juniors. SK also played mostly sophomores with a handful of juniors. If you want to make the age argument, Dixie was a lot younger today. Dixie is also playing with a converted sophomore WR at QB while SK played a junior and sophomore QB with the latter being Dixie’s freshman QB last year.

Nice win for the Colonels. The defense played very well.

Nothing too discouraging for Dixie. The offensive line played well and kept Fields clean as I think he only took a couple hits. They have a couple sophomores at the tackle positions, so the line should get better as the season progresses. The defensive line held their own against a much bigger SK oline. The penalties and big plays can be corrected. The same goes for all the cramping.

SK was not set on that TD play

This game will be decided in the trenches as SK will have the size advantage. Can Dixie keep Fields clean? Can Dixie's defensive line get a push and keep their linebackers clean to make plays.

I talked to Messiah the other night. Kid has the potential to be really good.

Dixie has a solid freshman team this year. I know they were without one of their top lineman, and I thought their starting RB was going to be out, or at least limited, last night due to injuries.

Offensively, if they can keep Mason clean, they'll be ok. They're deep at WR, and they've got multiple kids they can put in the backfield, and all bring something different. Defensively, they're small, and that will be a factor in some of their games.

I hate them, but I know they're a necessity. I always prefer fundraisers where the donor gets something in return or can possibly get something in return (discount cards, mulch, raffles, etc). However, those don't always yield the most. I just hate asking people for money (granted, I hate asking for anything). Having a multi-sport athlete makes things even harder as you're hitting up the same people within a couple months for donations as both teams do the same fundraiser. Fundraiser U has been a popular one lately, but I don't think it brings in as much as it used to. That just solicits people for money. Discount cards used to be an easy sell, but that has become more difficult. I ran and have been helping run youth organization for years. It seemed like if I did the same fundraiser in back-to-back years, the second year was always way lower. You almost had to rotate each year.

That's one way to try to smooth things over.

I wouldn't say Dixie Youth has no problem getting the field. PlayFanatics likely pays a pretty penny to use the field, so that money is going to trump all on a Sunday. It was going to cost me $1250 to host 3 softball games there years ago, so I can only imagine what PlayFanatics is paying to use the place. There are 2 issues that likely still causes TF to not have games at Dixie. #1 is the AD at TF. If it is the same AD from the past few years, he doesn't want to be there and doesn't put effort into doing anything leaving the coaches trying to scramble to get things done. Prior to him was the administration as a whole. #2 is PlayFanatics. Without them, Dixie Youth can host games on Sundays leaving the few available Saturdays to TF to host games. I do know Dixie Youth and TF has tried to work out running games together on Saturdays where TF plays right after Dixie Youth, or Dixie Youth plays right after TF, but they couldn't find officials to cover the later games.

6 soccer teams and 3 football teams utilizing it for games. 4 soccer teams, 2 football teams, and band utilizing it for practice as varsity/jv soccer and football practice together. I know the soccer team has had to utilize the baseball field for practices, and the freshman football team usually practices on the small practice field between the baseball and football fields. It definitely makes scheduling for those outside of Dixie hard.

They have a new playing field, that's it.

The field is offset away from the stands. To center up the field with the goal posts in their current location, they would have to shift the field towards the stands.

Completely forgot about Summitview. I've heard TF will have one next year, but for reasons that cannot be discussed on here, many school projects are in limbo right now. I was told TF has 1 game at Dixie this year. I know they've had very few the past 3 years, and my understanding it falls back on the administration at TF. Dixie Youth can get about 3 Saturdays to work with, and that's it as they've hosted home games at other locations. Dixie hosting PlayFanatics on Sundays really impacts the lower levels. If not for that, Turkeyfoot could play on Saturdays and Dixie Youth could play on Sundays.

In NKY, there are very few that have their own field, and all are grass. Twenhofel, Campbell County, and Grant have their own. Campbell and Grant have one because the middle school is the old high school. Woodland has one, but they only use it for practice.

I haven't seen a list of teams yet, but I've heard there are over 60 teams. They have 18 fields setup.

Pool play games are from 10-12, and then bracket play starts at 1.

Word on the street is the man who hit Brad posted bail and was back at the local bar the very next day. His family posted a recent status on him. He had surgery to insert rods and plates to fix his broken arm. He has multiple broken ribs, broken pelvis, and skull fractures. There doesn't appear to be any substantial brain bleed. He is intubated and sedated in the ICU.
