  1. I'm not following: who are the Spartans? I said nothing of the sort of who we want NEXT GAME. We are at the point where we play the 5 playoff games one at a time.
  2. Great win again over the Birds-I will sign off with that.
  3. I really don't care because that is subjective. The Colonels still had a good Frosh season and all I care about is if any of those kids will play next year. I will say their QB is a stud.
  4. I showed up. That was domination, and they made Mercy look like a team that would be borderline NKY Top 10 Team. Everyone who follows girls volleyball knew this was the CRU's year. Been talking about these Seniors since they were Frosh. They made it look easy in the Finals.
  5. There were a few Birds fans on this board predicting a Birds win after a win against a Cooper team that obviously declined dramatically at the end of the year-some even predicted a multiple score win while we remained quiet. My only prediction in the prediction thread was "CCH wins." I appreciate the enthusiasm and banter, but this score doesn't surprise me at all and the game never felt as close as the score. After the 1st TD on the 1st Drive, and then watching the Birds first couple of drives I knew this game was over. Our D played like a bunch of crazed dogs out there, and our O-Line dominated the smaller Bluebirds. It's a 9 game winning streak over 7 years, but would be 14 if the Birds made it far enough in the playoffs for CCH to beat them twice because lets be honest....only a couple of these games have been close. The only 2 I can think of both at Highlands were the rainy game a few years ago, and the one this year the day after Eddie's brother passed away. I just don't see anything changing, and the game next year is at CCH where CCH has been just blowing the doors off Highlands. Reminds me of CCH showing up to Highlands a decade ago. Last thing: I don't know what the majority of the Highlands faithful think about the new coaching staff other than what I have read on here, but it optically looked like Highlands just tapped out half way through the 3rd and called it a season knowing they were overmatched by a way more physical team who played with a ton more energy after coming off a very physical win against Ryle in a quagmire. They were just beat into submission. I was just surprised to see that-thought the new coach with bring a little more inspiration to the team this year. Again-with the talent Highlands has returning (and CCH has quite a bit too they just don't peak until this time of year because most of them are 1st time Senior starters after Eddie and staff have developed them), I think the Birds are still a mystery on where they go from here because they are so up and down week to week, and to me that is where the coaches make the difference.
  6. It wasn't as full as I thought, but there were a ton of CCH fans on the track, and it was probably hard to see during the broadcast.
  7. And the CCH underclassmen will do the same with a better coach.
  8. Same with the CCH Soph class that beat the Birds last year as Frosh when Giesler was still on the Birds and he did nothing in that game....before he transferred to CCH....and then transferred back to HHS. As long as Eviston is at the helm, and the classes are even in talent I will take CCH every day of the week.
  9. I was waiting for someone from the Highlands faithful to say that, and it did not take long.
  10. I think by the end of the year, you could probably make a case for CCH as #2. They had so many key injuries, but got a little bit healthier after the Beechwood game which was Beechwood's closest game of the year. They also beat Ryle solidly in the last game who barely lost to Highlands a couple weeks before, and also pounded Campbell County. I know it's hypotheticals to say they would have beaten CC, and HHS fully healthy but they certainly finished the season strong with a few more of their key players who will be a big part of their varsity success the next 3 years.
  11. He is still a good friend. I wish circumstances didn't preclude him from coming back to CCH.
  12. You are right-26 years ago. Again, in the playoffs it was 3-0. You just can't make that stuff up.
  13. Also-get your facts straight. Yes, in the 95' regular season Highlands blew up CCH to get a rebound win from that 42-7 regular season win. But CCH's 7-3 win in the 94' playoffs, was merely matched by a 3-0 win by HHS in the playoffs in 95'. That scorecard is not completely populated.
  14. For the most part that is accurate, but Jones and Sullivan when on the same field together at LB punish their opponents.
  15. Great hard fought win to close out the regular season in a physical game. The Colonels were more physical and played with as much intensity as I have seen all season. Should propel them to a nice playoff run.
  16. They didn't clear the gym. St. Henry and NDA made short work of Cooper and Ryle. Finals tomorrow: NDA will try to avenge their loss in 4 sets to the CRU at The Playing For a Purpose game. Real shocker that these two teams are in the Finals considering it seems that way every year other than last year when they played in the 1st Rd.
  17. No way-Jones and Sullivan are as good as CCH has had in years at LB. Next year it will be Jones and Jones.
