  1. Holy Cross will play Hancock County in the Ray Adams Classic. So now Hancock County has 11 games???
  2. I heard today that X has over 125 kids and T in the high 80s? Is that true because I don't think X had that many last year did they? Just curious.
  3. More love...you have to scroll down two entries... http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html
  4. All I can say to this column is whatever. There's no way you can look at a map in 6-A and put St. X and Trinity in the same district when there are 13 schools in the Louisville-area in 6-A. There are too many schools between Shelbyville Road and Poplar Level Road.
  5. Class A is a joke. I would be shocked if Louisville Holy Cross didn't play up. In that district, they may never lose but not much competition to get them ready for the playoff run. And speaking of road trips, how about the 6-A one for Shelby County to travel to Harlan County Central (or whatever the consolidated school in Harlan County is going to be called).
  6. Wow, was actually fun to look at and mighty interesting. St. X and Male still in the same district but Manual moved into another district I would think it a HUGE boost for the Crimson program. Looks like it's going to make teams schedule a lot more but doesn't look too bad to me right off the bat. http://www.khsaa.org/football/realignment/6classdraftalignment.pdf
  7. I confess to never seeing this kid play and have not really heard a lot about him. Anybody know anything about him? He's 6-7, 275 so that sounds like he can put some weight on his frame. They were talking about him on 84-WHAS tonight as the best OL player in the state this year? Sounds like UK got a good one http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060714/SPORTS03/60714029
  8. Honestly, though I see good points from a lot of people. At Trinity, I bet anything less than a title this year won't satisfy. But hey at Atherton I would assume two wins - maybe even one - would be cause for celebration. So there's different views for every program!
  9. Well folks, I have a totally different outlook. In my opinion, the only way you can have a successful season is for at least one game that year to have the Guru on your sidelines! :dancingpa
  10. I just looked back on that Louisville football website and that's from 1959 until now. Still pretty darn impressive. Anyone know prior to 1959???
  11. Should be a very good opener but I think Vic and Deuce will prove to be too much for the Purple folks! X wins by 2 TDs
  12. Some Tiger fan correct me if I am wrong. But the losing streak thread got me thinking about who might have the losing streak that is the fewest games of all-time. St. X's longest losing streak is 4 in 1988. That's pretty impressive!
  13. Moore lost 28 straight in the mid-1990s Atherton's longest losing streak is 23 in the early 1990s and one of those teams scored just 38 points. Yes, 3.8 a game!
  14. Michael Bush and Brian Brohm....oh no that's next year! :thumb: What about Dennis Johnson? I don't think he ever played much but is he still trying out there anywhere? I saw where Tim Couch had another surgery and heard Chris Redman on the TV the other night saying his career is pretty much over.
  15. Well guru, from everything I have heard the new coach didn't want to go against a bigger Holy Cross team. But hey, Western beat Harrison County in the same bowl game last year with like 30 kids. Oh well, a big loss for those kids. Sombeody could get a nice start to the season, playing in Papa John's!
  16. Even without Greg Oden, Indiana outrebounded Kentucky 65-35! Ouch!
  17. Just heard it's final in five innings. I thought PRP would win, but surprised by the margin if Adcock pitched
  18. Hate to tell you RP but all the five and six class alignments I heard from a BOC member and another advisory member have that there will be one district from hell with teams from Louisville. Butler, Male, Manual, PRP, St. X and Trinity (there was one other Louisville school...can't remember if it was Southern or maybe Seneca???) Now under a change that counts only boys in the school...Male would likely drop to 4-A and Butler also....
  19. There was four games last year! And I think four again this year. Holy Cross vs. Western is one for sure. Boyle County was supposed to play in it again this year but I don't think they are!
  20. Yes, it's happening. Not sure of a schedule this year but have heard Scott County, Boone County and Bardstown will be in '07 event.
  21. I agree westsider.....i know the travel and expenses would be tough for a 1 to go to an 8...but doesn't seem fair you tell four districts they play the same teams they always have and then the other four you draw...
  22. Well, that can't be true leather....there won't be a region two winner in 4-A since one district of region two will play one district of region three in the third round......
