  1. BG's offense makes enough key first downs to win the game. Purples - 17 Knights - 13
  2. It sounds like Bryan Station has the offense to pull off an upset, but do they have the ability to stop St. X from scoring? Will special teams be factor?
  3. I remember when the X defensive line all did belly flops to draw the Bryan Station offensive linemen to move. That moment sticks out every time I think about that game. It was really a great game!
  4. Looking at Bryan Stations schedule from last year they put up a bunch of points, but when they played quality opponent it looks like they had difficulty getting stops on defense.
  5. St. X is no Harlan Co., so can Bryan Stations put up the offense against the caliber of team such as St. X? Will St. X be looking past Bryan Station in favor of the next week against Bowling Green? Who wins and why?
  6. Recap: St. X 17 Ballard 0 The first week of the regular season for the St. X Tigers saw the Ballard Bruins come to Br. Thomas Moore Stadium, and as expected, the Tigers took care of business. In heat shortened game the Tigers defeated the Bruins 17-0. Noah Houk lead the Tiger offense by completing 8 of 15 passes for 141 yards and 1 TD; more importantly 0 turnovers. St. X finished with 199 yards of total offense with the leading rusher, TaiJon Smith, rushing for 36 yards on 10 carries. The Tiger defense was just as effective as the offense, allowing Ballard only 89 yards of total offense in one half of play and forcing a fumble. Logan Butler lead the defense with 2 tackles, but he some help from his friends in stopping Ballard’s wing t, and having a very productive half of football. As a Tiger fan I would be pleased with the result of the Ballard game. The team was effective and did exactly what they needed to do in this game, take care of business. Recap: St. Xavier 17, Ballard 0 | WSTX Sports Next Up: Bluegrass Bowl: vs Bryan Station Last meeting: (1999 4A State Championship) St. X 34 Bryan Station 31 Last Week Results: Bryan Station beat Harlan Co. 56-22.
  7. Rock, I'm not sure when they changed their program but the Tigers used to have individual pictures of each varsity player with their grade school/middle school affiliation. If St. X took that out of their program then that is unfortunate. But I do know they have always included all fall sports in their program. Also, in years past the program usually always included a roster of the opponent.
  8. Unfortunate the kids don't get to play an entire game, but a win is a win!
  9. 38-7. Tigers roll in this one. The wing t will have difficutly, unless Ballard has some big bodies upfront. What helped Ballard in years past was their ability to get their play makers in space, their new offense eliminates that element a bit.
  10. Can't believe it's already time for another season under the lights!! :dancingpa
  11. This Tiger team is being overlooked, but this is a good group of kids. Consistency on both sides of the ball will be key.
  12. St. Xavier Reloading in Wolford's 2nd Year. By: Jason Frakes He’ll have to do it with just three returning starters, but Will Wolford is hoping his second year as St. Xavier High School’s football coach will go better than his first. “The learning curve from Year One to Year Two as a coach or a player can be night and day, and it’s been that for me as well,” Wolford said. “With the number of kids involved here, it’s so much nicer to know more than just their names now. … It’s a whole lot more fun, and I’m certainly more comfortable.” St. Xavier reloading in Wolford?s 2nd year | USA Today High School Sports

  14. Oh no. Unless Ballard runs the wing T like Auburn, they will have problems this year on offense.
  15. I have not. Just trying to talk to people who have and read as many articles as I can find.
  16. Week 1 for Tigers from Poplar Level Rd. starts off with a familiar foe in the Ballard Bruins. These two teams meet last year in week 1 with St. X winning 32-14, but it was a much closer game than the final score indicates. Will this be the year that Ballard can beat the Tigers or will St. X be a bit too much again for the Bruins. Coach Jackson and Co. have been close in the past, but just cannot seem to get over the hump. What does Ballard have to do to beat St. X? If St. X is just "St. X" and controls the game with their running game will the game be as close as it was last year?
  17. Manual has been solid the last few scrimmages, but BG was just that much better. It's hard for any team to replace the type of talent and experience that BG has to replace. Coach Wallace and staff will study the film and figure out how to adjust what they are doing to get their kids in position to be a very good team. Those in Warren Co., I wouldn't get too excited about this game because I will be shocked if BG is not the best team in the area. It's a process and the Purples know what it takes to be a great team.
  18. Jaylon Hibbs scores on a 78 yard pass from Noah Houk to put X up 6-0. There are no extra points.

  20. I have seen a few updates that he has been performing very well! He will be a very good slot reciever for UK.
  21. It's unfortunate that whoever started the "Louisville Purge" talk has caused those in power to take away from the entertainment of a Friday night. It's a tough decision to make, and ultimately the safety of the students, coaches, and fans is more important than a scrimmage.
