  1. Just to add to your comment, when playing good teams you cannot settle for field goals. At the end of the day against top competition, field goals get you beat.
  2. Which part. That in 2010 while BG was changing and getting ready for the game there were T people standing at the door watching every move they made or the fact they were in a gym and were only given a small section to fit about 70 players. Which part do I have no clue about, please enlighten me then.
  3. I guess it's similar to UL playing Murray St. and UK playing UTM. Murray St. and UTM getting some money for their time and UL and UK in theory get an opportunity to evaluate a large number of kids in a game situation. I'm not a huge fan of X scheduling teams such as Fairdale, but if played correctly by X it allows everyone on the sideline an opportunity to play. Which is good enough reason for me.
  4. T was refused because you treated a "flagship" school like a low class public school. Staying in the gym is great, but just don't walk off the little marked off place within in that gym. As BG players are still in the gym lets have "security" at the doors to make sure they behave themselves. T can say BG refused, but when administration treat a team like they are not worthy of being on your campus then why play them. When BG played X in 2011, there was no section marked off in their gym or people standing at the doors to monitor the team. The administration and staff at X treated the BG team like a first class program that it is. That is why BG doesn't play T. It may sound silly, or childish, but treated teams the way you wanted to be treated and maybe they will want to play you when you call them. Back to the topic at hand...the run BG has been on the past 3+ years is incredible. But to me the word "flagship" is more than just a 3 year span. At the end of the day, T is the flagship program in KY with BG 2nd. But BG is the best team the last 3 years in the state.
  5. After this past Friday I hope they win out, but I just don't think they have enough offensive fire power to knock off McCallie. Last year it took everything they had to win that game. This year their defense will keep it close but I don't think they will be able to put enough offensive scores on the board.
  6. I believe AT is implying with Coach Wolford experience in the NFL as a player that his game management skills would be a bit better than what he is demonstrating.
  7. St. X coming off of a tough loss against Bowling Green will St. X be able to rebound and put together a solid game in all three phases against Fairdale? I don't think the queation is if St. X will win, but how will they perform in this game? Will Houk take care of the football? Will the defense contine to perform at a high level? How will time management improve?
  8. Not good when the emotions of a game carry over to the parking lot. Tough loss for the Tigers, but in the end they missed opportunities to win.
  9. True statement. But typically, X is used to having to replace a number of starters because of their high number of seniors. BG benefited greatly because their seniors from last year had a great deal of experience playing as sophomores and some even as freshmen. It will be interesting to see the new starters play in this type of enviornment.
  10. I believe 790am in Louisville. I believe Bowling Green streams their homes live if I'm not mistaken at purplesnation.com
  11. I just keep thinking about this game... It will be interesting to see how BG responses if X takes an early lead. BG has been a very experienced team the last few years, which helped them last year in pulling out victories over McCallie, Blackman, and John Hardin. But what about this group? Will they have the same resolve with new starters, and a majority of them playing in their most intense game to date? Can't wait and glad to see both teams have agreed to play another 2 years!
  12. Don't have stats, but heard that QB Jack Albers is a player to keep your eyes on over the next few years.
  13. Former Tiger College Football Round Up By: Jacob Hayslip 32 Former Tigers are now playing college football all across the country. Starting now, each week, we will update you on how our favorite Former Tiger Football players are doing at the next level! Good luck to each and every one of these guys as they take the next step in their careers this season. They may be spread out and all over the place at different schools, but they have one common bond… they will always bleed Green and Gold! Former Tiger College Football Round Up | WSTX Sports
  14. I wish I could make it, but I'll be taking in FL football action.
  15. This statement is going to be earth shattering, QB will determine the winner. In 2011 Scooter Hollis made a few more plays than Mattingly which allowed the Purples to capitalize and win the game. In 2012 Gahafer was playing very well in the first half then is injured and doesn't return for the second half. Devin Hayes gathered himself and stepped up in the second half to come back from a half time deficit. Last year it was all Hayes and the Purples rolled. Whatever QB plays the best will lead their team to victory.
  16. A little write up done by WSTX Sports. These young men do a great job of running the site. ?Who Are These Guys??: Bowling Green | WSTX Sports
  17. How long are JV games? 8 or 10 min. quarters?
  18. I think Mr. All is trying to say talent is down, so the game may not be as good. But I think it will be a good game, because both teams will be evenly matched. Neither is dominate, and the play of each teams QB will be vitale in determining the outcome. But I agree with Mr. All, BG has to stay committed to the run; which they have done in the past meetings.
  19. St. X ahead of Trinity is highly debatable. looking at records it makes sense, but that is about it.
  20. Also, part of the move to a more regional/national schedule is because a number of JCPS "chose" not to play Trinity. They had to go somewhere to get in more than 3 games.
  21. I think the "fall" of Male was a big factor in super rise of Trinity. With Male being relevant in Louisville and 6A again more of the non-CSAA kids start looking back at Male again.
  22. I don't think shine comes off the program, but I do think it is looked at a bit differently. From 2010-2012, it was a special time at Trinity, they were playing and winning on a national stage. The difference now is that while they are still playing their national schedule, they are not winning those games which is fine. Many in the area believed Trinity was going to be on a different level than everyone in KY, but that is not the case. They are still very good, but the thought of them being a national power has shifted a bit. They are still thought highly regionally, but just not so much on a national stage any more. It is tough to do in KY.
