  1. Yea. I felt the same way the first time I went to Rupp 2 years ago to see Holmes face your Dragons of WC.
  2. Henderson has really broke out of his shell in the district and region tourney. He is playing like a senior playing his last games which is what the Dawgs are going to need out of all of their players tonight and the rest of the week. There was a nice article today in the paper about the Dawgs.... http://news.kypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070321/SPT0402/703210315/1026/NEWS02
  3. :sssh: Hope to see you in full effect at Rupp tonight. I'll be wearing a Holmes basketball shirt so if you see me make sure you stop by and say hey.
  4. I'm going to take Fairdale in a tight one. Fairdale is a lot better than some think. All in all, this is one of the better first round match ups. Whether SL or Fairdale wins, the margin won't be more than 5. Good luck to both schools.
  5. The sweet 16 will be in full effect today. Good luck to every team, fan, parents, and communities that will be participating this week at Rupp. May all of your highest aspirations come true, but for those who don't, just remember only one team can be state champ, so keep your heads up. To all the seniors, you've all obviously been through a lot throughout your careers so play each game with all your heart, sweat and blood and leave everything out on the floor.
  6. It's game day...good luck to both teams tonight.
  7. That's a good question. But how would they seed? Like the NCAA's and go from a computer and SOS?
  8. From the KYpost today about this match up... Scouting reports have given Paducah Tilghman coach Brad Stieg a good idea of what his team will be up against when it plays Holmes in the first round of the boys' state basketball tournament at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Arena. 9. Or there was just some better talent out there?? JD and Ryle Brockman and SK Neltner and Highlands Jefferson and crew- Holmes CCh has had some outstanding teams which is why they're in the regional championship year in and year out...there is just one or two teams who are better than them each year. IMO I thought CCH would win region in 05 but Conner upset them. This is the first year since 00 that I think CCH didn't have the more superior team. Holmes was just that good this year.
  10. This is why Austin hasn't made his decision yet. He wants to see if any other offers come in assuming he shines at the state tournament. A & M is the likely choice simply because of reputation but Winthrop would be a better fit IMO. Austin will make a wise decision though. He will weigh all of his decisions and find out what's best for not only him, but also his family. I know Celeste Hill, his aunt, as well as his mother will both play huge roles in helping him decide where he ends up going.
  11. Maybe you're right but Henderson didn't guard him the whole game so we'll never know. I think you better be a little worried about how he's going to do OFFENSIVELY against Tighlman. Not how he did as a soph on defense against a future NBA'er.
  12. Austin's grades are fine. I think he'll end up at A & M but I wouldn't mind seeing him go to WInthrop. I think them and A &M play more of the offense he's accustomed to. I doubt very seriously he'll go to Xavier now that I'm thinking about it a little more.
  13. 1st Round Winners Lincoln Co Scott Co Fairdale Holmes Ballard GRC Shelby Valley Warren Central 2nd Round Scott CO Holmes Ballard Warren Central Semi's Scott Co Ballard Sweet 16 Winner Ballard Tiebreaker: 154 ^^Forgot to put the tb in there
  14. Yes. Texas A&M, Winthrop, and Xavier have all offered but he doesn't want to make his decision until the end of the year. I know Western, UC, Purdue, and a couple other schools have also been recruiting him as well but those are his final three. IMO he's going to end up at A&M just because it's a bigger name but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to X.
  15. CCH opened OT in a zone and Holmes threw an alley oop on the first possession. When Holmes sees the zone they look for the over the top pass as you stated.
  16. For the second straight year, Holmes' Austin Hill was names 9th region Player of the Year. Here's the article: After the Holmes boys' basketball team won the 9th Region championship game last week, coach David Henley told the players to take a couple of days off before they started practicing for the state tournament. The next day, however, Henley found senior guard Austin Hill in the gym working out by himself. Hill's relentless drive to improve his skills was rewarded Sunday when he was named 9th Region Player of the Year at the Northern Kentucky Basketball Coaches Association awards banquet More: http://news.kypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070319/SPT0402/703190318/1026/NEWS02
  17. Just having a little fun  But we'd love to have you guys down there cheering us on.
  18. Was this at the end of the game? How much time was left? IMO if this CHILDISH play happens in college, he'll find himself riding the pine.
  19. How many times have you seen Holmes play? Against CCH they only made 3 treys the whole game in the regional championship. Holmes is very good at getting to the basket with Jefferson or Hill and dumping it off to Rice or Henderson. If Henley knows a team has weak guards against pressure, he'll press the whole game, and throw waves of players at the opposition to wear them down.
  20. Walker only had 8 points in the first qtr. Henderson guarded him in the first qtr and this is when he got his 5 blocks and 1 of his 2 dunks. Hill took over qtrs 2 through 4 and rotated that position with Nelson because Henderson moved over to guard the other big man.
  21. I think a lot of you are going to be just as impressed with Holmes front court. Rice is probably going to be the best player on the floor. Henderson guarded Walker last year when they played NCh and held his own with 5 blocks and 2 dunks, so I doubt Mcclure or Jones are going to be too much for him to handle. Guard play, once again, is where this game will be won. Jefferson and Hill are both all state caliber players. If Holmes comes out with their press from the get go, or even drops back in a zone, I think Tighlman is going to struggle. (from what I've saw on film.)
  22. This is a ridiculous score for a state title game. I wonder how they'd do playing against Ballard?? That would be an interesting match up
  23. Scruggs and Gifford came off the bench. Grimes was the only other player who consistently started.
  24. Awesome post. I couldn't agree anymore!! :thumb: :thumb: I know last year when CCH went to Rupp I went to support them, so it's good to see you all are doing the same. Also, if any of you plan on going to the game and want a Holmes shirt to wear, I know this Monday and Tues, the athletic office at Holmes will be selling regional championship t shirts for people to wear. i'm sure a lot of you CCH and nky faithful would look good in Red and White
