Exactly my point! I don't see where these inflated predictions are coming from. Even some Trinity fans are predicting we will beat them badly. I just don't see it that way.

Not to be overly cautious but I am really concerned heading into this game. We barely beat Elder on our home field last year with much the same team. How in the world are people predicting blowouts on Elder's notoriously tough home field? There is a cognitive disconnect in that logic from my perspective. I know that things change from year to year, but unless Elder lost a ton of players from last years squad I don't expect to see a blowout in our favor.

That was a bunch of kids, and yes I remember that. I sat near the student section and was disgusted by that. In fact I don't think you will find a single Trinity fan that would ever condone it or defend the actions of those students. I also seem to remember some teachers in attendance who came down to the student section to get that under control. Those are not the values that we teach at Trinity and to this day I still am ashamed of what those students did in that situation.

You will not find many Libertarians that will even come close to agreeing with President Obama on much of anything. I think your comment to that should be retracted.

Manual may well be #2 in the district this season. So far there have been some lackluster performances though.

If the planets are in alignment and there are lots of turnovers maybe. Just because they gave Male fits doesn't crown them a contender this season. No offense to Male but losing to a Southern Indiana squad and Western doesn't give them much to talk about right now. Western is a tough team, but there is no reason a tough 6A program should lose to them.

Despite the schedule I still have a hard time believing X won't have a winning record this season.

Not much I would suspect.

Maybe in NKY. Although Louisville 6A outside of Trinity isn't doing itself any favors right now with losses to 4A and 5A squads.

That was who came to mind for me. No one else since then has even been in the same time zone (metaphorically speaking).

I'll be even more surprised since I am pretty sure we have a bye this week.

The Ohio schools do give me pause. I don't think we will dominate them by any stretch of the imagination. Last season with much the same team we squeaked by Elder and home and lost to Cincy X at home. With the games on their turf I can't imagine them being any easier this time around. In the case of this particular question though I think we will be fine in our class. St. X could sneak up on us, Male and Manual could beat us on an off night, but I really don't look at either team as much of a threat comparatively.

Louisville St.X is the only stumbling block I see.

Pretty close distance wise, but if we are talking score then I would say not very.

I think that part of the problem for many of us is that we remember 2003 and how that season started. We had just come off of one of the best seasons in school history(if not the best at the time) with the epic wins over Male and Elder the year before we came into the season with a #4 ranking in the USAToday poll. We then proceeded for start out 0-4 with a team that had a ton of returning starters. I was captain cocky going into the 2003 season but ever since then no matter how good we are supposed to be I am hesitant to declare our awesomeness until after the fact.

All joking aside from my end, I do think that X has effectively diversified their offense more so than any time except maybe 2004 or 2005. I think this experience against Riverdale will definitely toughen up the Tigers and make them a much harder opponent down the road.

Exactly my thought. They still managed to burn our secondary on a number of occasions.
