Bullitt East 46 Valley 20
Yeah, that could happen. Nothing is set in stone yet, that's for sure. BE needs to take care of business so they don't have to worry about all that other stuff.

Bullitt East 46 Valley 20
BE is now in 2nd place in the district behind Central.
-
Bullitt East vs. Valley
BE is a very young team this year. 3 Seniors start on offense ( 5 juniors and 3 sophomores) and only 2 on defense ( 4 juniors and 5 sophomores).

JV score Bullitt East 21 Louis. HC 0
Maybe not. That is the closest anyone has played the Bullitt East JV team this year.

Class AAA Region 2 District 3
This is probably the most exciting race in the state this year. These are the current standings: 1. Central 6-1, 5-0 at Jeffersontown 2. Valley 6-1, 4-1 at Doss 3. Doss 4-3, 4-1 vs Valley 4. Bullitt East 5-3, 4-2 Open 5. Fairdale 4-4, 3-3 vs North Bullitt 6. North Bullitt 4-3, 2-3 at Fairdale 7. Waggener 3-4, 1-4 at Atherton 8. Jeffersontown 2-6, 1-5 vs Central 9. Atherton 0-7, 0-5 vs Waggener Currently 6 teams are in the playoff hunt. No one is guaranteed a spot yet, Central can with a win Friday. It may take until week 10 to decide the other three spots.

Weather Report Friday Oct 13th
I'm glad we have an open week!

Bullitt East 36 Waggener 20
Same goes for North Bullitt hanging with Central. BE laid an egg that night, if those 2 meet again I would expect a much closer game. But BE needs to worry about Valley and not playoff scenarios.

Bullitt East 36 Waggener 20
Doss/Valley is a very interesting matchup. Doss could be anywhere from a #1 seed to missing the playoffs. Valley could wind up #2 to missing the playoffs. This has to be the most exciting district race in the state.

Bullitt East 36 Waggener 20
BE recovered form last week's letdown with a solid win. The playoff picture in the district is still a long way from being decided.
-
Doss 21 North Bullitt 20
Strange how that works.

Doss 21 North Bullitt 20
I agree that Waggener is better than their record indicates, that is going to be a tough game. North has to win out in order to make the playoffs. The district race has been very interesting so far. Things could get more interesting tonight.

Doss 21 North Bullitt 20
"We feel we are now starting to play to the level we expected in the preseason," Newton said. "If we continue to perform the way we are capable of playing, we feel we should get another shot at Central in the second round of the playoffs." Statement from North Bullitt's coach in the Courier Journal on Thursday. You say that, then your team loses. OUCH! North Bullitt plays at Fairdale next week. The loser of that game will not make the playoffs. Doss plays Valley at home. The winner of that game will make the playoffs, probably as the #2 seed depending on what happens the last 2 weeks. The loser will still probably make the playoffs, but could wind up on the outside looking in.

Doss 21 North Bullitt 20
Doss is quietly making some noise this year. North continues to disappoint.

Buy or Sell: 3A Contenders
Someone has to win region 2. Central has been by far the strongest team so far. I'll buy them, sell the rest.

Marion County @ Southwestern
Marion County's record is misleading. Their 4 wins have come against: Campbellsville (1-6, A); Casey Co. (1-5, AA); Washington Co. (4-2, AA); and Russell Co. who is 4-3, but beat 4 very bad teams. Marion lost to single A Bethlehem and a very bad Bullitt Central team (North Bullitt beat them 56-0, Bullitt East beat them 55-6). If SW takes care of the football, this game will not be close.
-
Warren East @ Bowling Green
Easily.
-
Southwestern At Boyle Co.
SW struggles to defend the pass and they make too many turnovers, not a good combination against Boyle County. If SW wants to win this year, they need to jump out to an early lead. If Boyle gets up by a couple scores early, those seeds of doubt will start to rise. I just can't see SW winning this game.

Bullitt East - Doss
I agree, but before BE can think about that, they need to win the rest of their games.
-
Bullitt East - Doss
Yeah, the return game has been strong this year. The coaches really stress the importance of special teams. Your right about the sophomores at Doss, that is a really good group. 7 of those kids start on varsity already.
-
Bullitt East - Doss
I hope so, but I think it will be closer than that.
-
Central 29 North Bullitt 20
Actually, I picked Central to win the district. BE should expect to contend for the district, they do every year. North, well that's another story.
-
Valley 32 Fairdale 12
Doss is certainly in the thick of things right now. I think Central has pretty much locked up the 1 seed. 5 teams are fighting for the last 3 spots. I would say 6, but Waggener has to dig themselves out of a big hole.
-
Central 29 North Bullitt 20
Upset? North Bullitt thought they were the best team in the district at the beginning of the year.
-
Valley 32 Fairdale 12
This thread is about Valley, not North Bullitt.
-
Valley 32 Fairdale 12
Well, that kind of depends on some other things. Valley still has to play Doss. Doss is 2-0 in the district. J-town who surprised Waggener Friday, and Waggener. I'm not sure what to think about Waggener, they nearly beat North Bullitt, then lose to J-town. With a 9 team district it is too early to tell, but Valley is off to a good start, but they could stumble against any of those teams and end up the odd man out. Right now, Central is the only guarantee.
