Final from North Laurel High School. Very close game throughout. North led most of the game, Lincoln finally took the lead with about 6 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, and never looked back. LC was led in scoring by Jessica Upchurch (18pts). The win improves Lincoln's record to 16-4.

This was preseason 1-2, according to most. Neither has lived up to their preseason expectations. However, both teams are very dangerous, and capable of beating anyone in the 12th region. I've been looking forward to this game all year, I love to watch Watts play. This game matches the two best players in the region, IMHO, should be a classic.

3 more to go. It's a home and home setup.

Garrard trailed by 6 to begin the fourth quarter. They tied it with 6 seconds left. Garrard inbounded the ball and drew a foul with 3 to go. Ray connected on two free throws to give GC the lead, 45-43. BC was unable to get off a last second shot. This game was much closer than I expected. Just more evidence of how wide open the 12th region and 45th district is. Garrard blew out Lincoln, Lincoln blew out Boyle. Garrard and Boyle play a close one down to the wire.... Very true... He is a good at creating too, it's just hard to do when they don't clear out and give him operating room.

This score doesn't surprise me a lot. WC and BC are very similar teams. Both have good front line players, and both teams weakness, IMO, is their guard play. Both teams struggle to handle pressure defense. Good win for the Rebs though...

This would of been a nice bounce back victory. Sounds like the Pats just couldn't put four quarters together. They did play with much more effort and pride tonight...

Garrard is emerging as the favorite in the 12th region. Another quality win. They are playing the best ball in the region right now. Glad to hear there was a crowd there tonight too...

This brings up a good point, that I mentioned after the game the other night. GC doesn't seem to get a lot of support from the community. I can't remember the last time I was at a game there, and they had a big crowd. I would say LC easily had twice the crowd there (on the road) the other night. This GC team is fun to watch, and are having very successful year. I'd like to see them get some more support from the community over there.

LC is usually a different team at home. It is a very hard place to win. They have only lost five games there since the 2006 season.

I don't think people from LC feel the same way... Boyle County is our biggest basketball rival. I just pointed it out, regarding the quotes in the article, because I really thought those emotions showed on the court for Garrard. Interesting stuff...

Good read about the game. LC's lowest total since 2006. I knew it was a poor shooting night. Some was good defense, but a lot of it was poor shooting. LC missed a lot of wide open jumpers they usually connect on. Garrard wanted this game more and they took it. It's obvious by some of the quotes in the article. I think it is a good point that LC views Boyle as their biggest rival. Probably true, in basketball, for LC and BC. However, the kid from Garrard views LC as their biggest.
