Madison Central 63 Lincoln County 50

Recommended Posts

Final from Richmond.

Lincoln County led after 3 quarters but Central exploded in the 4th to win going away.

That wasn't the score I was thinking I would see! I thought Lincoln would come back stronger after the Garrard loss.

This would of been a nice bounce back victory. Sounds like the Pats just couldn't put four quarters together. They did play with much more effort and pride tonight...

You knew they would. I don't enjoy the thought of a return trip to Lincoln; will be a tough matchup.

I think Spurlin is a really nice player but would be even better if they got the ball to him in the post and not let him try to create on his own so much out top. He looks like he can score at will at the block.

Very true...

He is a good at creating too, it's just hard to do when they don't clear out and give him operating room.

RICHMOND — After more than a month away from home, the Indians definitely looked road-weary in the opening three quarters Friday against Lincoln County.

Stifled by a stubborn zone, Madison Central struggled to find the basket and headed into the final period facing a one-point deficit.

“We didn’t really panic,” Central senior Keshawn Simpson said. “We just kept working.”

The Indians bounced back, starting the fourth quarter on a 13-4 run that allowed them to pull away for a 63-50 win. Simpson had 17 points and 11 rebounds and JaQuentin Jenkins added 15 points and 11 rebounds as Central (14-6) snapped a three-game skid.
