  1. Trinity has a shooting guard with incredible shooting accuracy, didn't catch his name, talking to my nephew most of the game. And a forward #31 with incredible athleticism. Good team this year.
  2. Not possible, even with 15 win seasons he could not coach long enough to reach that high. Had St. X not booted Mike Glaser, with enough 12/13 win seasons he could maybe make it interesting but I doubt it.
  3. Until the State championship
  4. Many ha e accused the Lafayette coaching staff of not inforcing discipline. The only example I am aware of was when playing Trinity last season, when meeting at mid field for the coin toss, their players who have signed with UK chose to forego wearing team helmets and instead wore UK hats to show attention to themselves. Not a big deal in itself but supposedly there was a pattern of me before team and the coaching staff not doing anything about it.

  6. Beatty doesn't make the schedule, the Athletic Director Rob Saxton does and per some staff, the call has been made.

Trinity (10-0) – Trinity finished the regular season with a perfect record and enters the playoffs as the 6A favorite so will rightly retain the number 1 rank. Next week is Ohio Co. 2. St. Xavier (7-3) – Louisville St. X received a reminder of why Southern Ohio football is held in such regard after taking a 28-3 loss. Due to the loss being from a national powerhouse, X will retain the #2 position. Next week is Muhlenberg Co. 3. – Male (8-2) – No surprise in Male’s 41-6 win over Western. Next week is Daviess Co.. 4. Dupont Manual (8-2) – Manual finishes off their successful regular season with a win over Eastern 34-13. Next week is Henderson Co.. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (9-1) – Another CAL game, another victory over another over matched opponent in Franklin Co. 44-7. Next week versus Greene County should be about the same. 6. St. Francis DeSales (8-2) – DeSales defeats over matched Southern 41-0. They open the playoffs versus Monroe Co. which DeSales should handle easily. 7. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-4) – While their record doesn’t show it, this was a great season for PRP, especially with such a convincing 42-3 win over Central. The Panthers take on McCracken County next week. 8. Bardstown (9-1) – Bardstown defeats Allen Co – Scottsville 46-22 and looks forward to Western Hills to open up the playoffs. 9. Ballard (7-3) – Ballard finishes the regular season with a victory versus Doss, 31-20. Next week is Meade Co. 10. South Oldham (9-1) – A close one last week and now a loss by the Dragons. Can South regroup in time to match Woodford Co? Honorable Mention - Fern Creek (8-2) – The Tigers had an off week but take on Grant Co. Next week. Teams on the Rise – PRP end the regular season with great improvement over last season. Teams on the Decline – South Oldham was playing great football till the past two weeks. Featured Game of the Week – Honestly, none of the first round match ups garner a lot of interest outside of the fan bases of the teams involved.
  8. Thanks to our Sponsor WBKI TV Louisville The CW. Get in the game with Game On WBKI Saturdays @ 8p. Tv station: WBKI TV Twitter: @ItsGame_On 1. Trinity (10-0) – Ballard was Trinity’s best competition in the district and Trinity steam rolled them 55-0. Next week is a bye week for the Rocks. 2. St. Xavier (7-2) – The Tigers keep playing strong over powering Butler 35-6. Next week will be one of X’s strongest opponents of the season as they face Cincy St. Xavier in the featured game of the week. Everyone on BGP should be supporting the Tigers as they cross the Ohio River into Cincinnati. 3. – Male (7-2) – The Bulldogs recovered from their loss to X with a win over their very strong arch rival, Manual 27-14. Next week should be an easy win against Western. 4. Dupont Manual (7-2) – While always disappointing to lose to your arch rival, Manual’s 27-14 loss to Mighty Male was not a bad loss and will result in Manual not driopping. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (8-1) – Another CAL game, another victory over another over matched opponent. The rest of the season should be the same against Franklin Co. and Greene County. 6. South Oldham (9-0) – A close one against North Bullitt 35-34. Next week against Shelby County wont’ be easy either. 7. St. Francis DeSales (7-2) – DeSales defeats over matched Shawnee 33-0. The rest of the season versus Southern and Monroe County should be similar stories. 8. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-4) – PRP had the week off. Next week is yet another difficult game against Central. 9. Bardstown (8-1) – Bardstown recovers from the sole loss to Central with a win over Thomas Nelson 46-16. Next week is Allen Co – Scottsville which should not be a difficult win. 10. Ballard (6-3) – Ballard drops two spots with the pounding it received from #1 Trinity. Their next game should be an easy victory versus Doss. Honorable Mention - Fern Creek (8-2) – Another win for Fern Creek with a victory over Atherton 47-12 Central (5-4) – Central knocks Henry Co hard, 41-3. Their remaining game is a strong PRP. Teams on the Rise – no one really jumps out so the award is withheld this week. Teams on the Decline – no one this week. Featured Game of the Week – The border battle between the two St. X’s.
  9. Based upon what? Both are good teams but not considerably better than the years past when Ryle and Simon went deep in the play offs and had lopsided losses to one of the mentioned three. I'm not saying T, X or Male could name the score on either but the outcome of the games would be determined going into the 4th quarter.
  10. Correct, especially the margin against Trinity, I should have been more specific.
  11. Thanks to our Sponsor WBKI TV Louisville The CW. Get in the game with Game On WBKI Saturdays @ 8p. Tv station: WBKI TV Twitter: @ItsGame_On 1. Trinity (9-0) – Nothing surprising in Trinity’s 58-0 win over Seneca. Next week is bitter rival Ballard. Should be a better matchup but Trinity will clearly be the favorite 2. St. Xavier (6-2) – After bad losses to Bowling Green and Trinity, The Tigers righted the ship with a solid victory over Manual and a huge win over Male. X has momentum on their side as leap frog Male’s #2 spot and they take on Butler this Friday 3. – Male (6-2) – Male entered last Friday’s game as a solid favorite but someone forgot to tell St. X as the Bulldogs fell 21-31. Due to Male’s otherwise strong season, they only fall one spot by switching spots with St. X. Next week they face arch rival Manual in the Featured Game of the Week. 4. Dupont Manual (7-1) – Manual recovers from last week’s loss to X with a solid win over a very good PRP. Can Manual continue it strong play with a victory over arch rival Male? 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (7-1) – Nothing shocking with CAL’s victory over Shawnee 65-6. Washington Co. won’t give the Centurions a much better game. 6. South Oldham (8-0) – Another easy win for South. Next week versus North Bullitt should be the same story. 7. St. Francis DeSales (6-2) – DeSales recovers from their CAL loss by thumping Washington Co. 55-0. Next week against Shawnee should be the same story. 8. Ballard (6-2) – Poor Jeffersontown, Ballard mowed them down 71-0. Unfortunately for Ballard, they may be the one getting mowed down next week as they visit #1 Trinity. 9. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-4) – Another hard fought loss against and strong opponent will drop the Panthers one spot. Next week PRP has an of week then faces Central in a great matchup. 10. Bardstown (7-1) – The number 10 ranking must be cursed, several weeks in a row, that team loses. Due to Central being a strong opponent, Bardstown will hang on to #10. Next week against Thomas Nelson should put Btown back to winning. Honorable Mention - North Hardin (6-2) – Meade had the week off. This Friday they face Central Hardin in a great matchup. Could a win get them back into the rankings? We shall see. Fern Creek (7-2) – No surprise with Fern Creek beating Iroquois. Next week is Atherton which should be a win also. Central (4-4) – Central reenters the Honorable Mention category with a victory over then unbeaten Bardstown. Their remaining games are Henry County and strong PRP. Teams on the Rise – St. Xavier without question, X is playing their best football with wins over Manual and Male. Teams on the Decline – This “award” almost went to Male but because X seems to be firing on all cylinders now, maybe that wasn’t such a bad loss. So this week, this “award” will sit on the shelf. Featured Game of the Week - Manual vs. Male
  12. Actually, Trinity didn't shut down the long pass, Male never attempted another after the fourth one. The reason I was told is Male's qb whacked his hand on someone's helmet during a pass and was there after limited to shorter passes. Had he been able to continue the long bombs for TDs, Trinity really would have had its work cut out for them in the second half stopping them. Not saying they couldn't, just would have been difficult. Saying that, I am not sure which I would rather face again.
  13. How is that different than a team who plays wide open passing offense changing what they do when up big and switching to a running offense to run out the clock and not run up the score?
  14. A school the size of Ballard has to have someone who can kick, even if they have to use a soccer player. Even if you don't have a decent kicker, when you are up that big, just kick it and who cares if it is an awful kick? I have a feeling payback is coming in St. Matthews.
  15. I really don't know enough about McCracken to give an educated prediction. Has PRP taken any long road trips? If not, that is obviously not in PRPs favor. Bowling Green playing PRP and Male (scrimmage but still) interests me quite a bit. May have to go to PRP or Male to watch the Purples and maybe even ride down to Bowling Green to hit a game, visit the Corvette Museum and WKU and whatever else BGP members in the area recommend. I believe you said you live somewhere near Louisville now, if you go to either, let me know, we will meet up.
  16. I understand the theory of playing the best to get better but almost wonder if PRP goes too far to the point of harming morale. I know some of those tough opponents are district opponents so they are stuck with them, the none district opponents may be where they want to ease up.
  17. Feel bad for PRP, they are a good team just facing monster opponents. Next week is Central which is no easy game either.
  18. Can we get another hint?
  19. Well, since there were no comments on the power ranking this week, does that mean everyone was in agreement with it?
  20. If they treat these as real games, I will be at the one at Male an may consider going to Bowling Green for the other, would be outstanding games. Where is next year's?
  21. Thanks to our Sponsor WBKI TV Louisville The CW. Get in the game with Game On WBKI Saturdays @ 8p. Tv station: WBKI TV Twitter: @ItsGame_On 1. Trinity (8-0) – The game against Eastern wasn’t much as expected. Next week against Seneca won’t be much better. 2. Male (6-1) – Male had the week off but still stays at #2. This weekend will be the featured game of the week versus St. Xavier. As mentioned last week, X and Male somewhat look at each other as their runner up archrivals. The emotion going into this game will come second only to the quality of these two teams. 3. St. Xavier (5-2) – For weeks I have been second guessing myself ranking Manual ahead of X but kept telling myself due to Manual being undefeated and beating some quality teams, they deserved and if X wanted the #3 position, they have a chance to earn. Well, the Tigers did just that 28 to 14 over the Crimsons. After the bad loss to Trinity, X really needed this win. Next week gets really interesting as X goes to Male. 4. Dupont Manual (6-1) – Manual's stellar season took a bit of a hiccup with its loss to X. Things don’t get a whole lot easier next week against PRP where Manual hopes to be able to puff their chests out again. 5. Christian Academy of Louisville (7-1) – CAL takes the regular season battle of the Mighty Mini Privates again beating DeSales 12-7. The last three games of the regular season should be a little easier for the Centurions as they will face Shawnee, Washington Co. and Franklin Co.. 6. South Oldham (7-0) – Beating Bullitt East and staying undefeated bumped South Oldham one spot to number six. The rest of the season looks ripe for South to finish the year undefeated. 7. St. Francis DeSales (6-2) – DeSales just can’t seem to get over the CAL hump during the regular season and again this year fell to the Centurions 12-7. Can the Colts regroup again the triumph over CAL in the playoffs? We shall see. 8. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-3) – Last year the Panthers lost every game in the second half of their brutal season but this year PRP let loose on Butler 42-6. Such a great win makes the upcoming game against Manual look less daunting. Manual will obviously be favored but a PRP victory would not be a huge upset. 9. Ballard (5-2) – Ballard got the week off and this upcoming game should be pretty much decided in the second quarter as the Bruins welcome Jtown to their campus. 10. Bardstown (7-0) – Welcome to the rankings Bardstown. Seven straight victories earns the Tigers a spot in the rankings. Next week is Central which will be a very tough game. Honorable Mention - North Hardin (6-2) – After losing to DeSales, North gets back to winning ways beating a respectable Meade County. Fern Creek (6-2) – Another win for Fern Creek against a decent team in Doss. Teams on the Rise – St. Xavier losing to Trinity the way X did had to take quite a bit of steam out of the Tigers but a statement win over undefeated Manual puts X back among the Big Three. Teams on the Decline – Spencer County Figures after propping up Spencer County last week they would go and lose to a team with a losing record. For that they fall out of the rankings and skid past Honorable Mention.
  22. I appreciate the comments everyone. Is there a team out there I am completely forgetting anyone can think of?
  23. Oh, I agree, X should win. I just think Manual is playing their best ball in years and this year's X is definitely in the middle of the X teams of the past 20 years so the "gap" between the two is the smallest I can remember so this may be their best shot.
  24. Would you agree this is one of Manuals best opportunities to beat X? Manual is playing as good as I recall and this looks to be one of X's more average teams.
