Notable Streaks in Ky HS Football

Featured Replies

Reflecting on Belfry's senior class accomplishments got me to thinking about streaks. There have been some dynasties in KY HS Football over the years. What are some of the notable streaks either current or historical?

The most obvious is Trinity's win streak of 50. Bowling Green won 48 consecutive and Breathitt Co won 47.

Ashland also went 6 consecutive seasons without a loss. From 1926-1931 the Tomcats were 57-0-4

Highlands won 6 straight championships from 2007-2012.

Boyle Co won 5 straight championships from 1999-2003

Must recognize mayfield as well from 2009-2015 so far with 5 titles and 2 runner ups. They are also on a 4 peat and will be 5 if they win it this year.

Bowling Green is currently on an 81-3 run.

Conveniently without playing Trinity.

That doesn't sound like a streak for this thread. That sounds like an arrogant fan who doesn't care if he makes his school look petty.

hmmmmmm. I was only replying to the "bragging" of an 81-3 record (didn't know that was a "streak" either). I would love to see Trinity and BG play again.

Its a thread about accomplishments. Read the title. I don't know why Trinity is dodging, BG has week 10 open next year I have seen it advertised, have Beatty call them up.

Side note... if Trinity doesnt get on board...

I have heard Belfry is thinking of moving their game with Johnson Central to earlier in the season. Although BG would probably wipe the floor with Belfry next year in a transition year for the Pirates..this could potentially be an awesome game as a two year Series on a neutral field. Belfry should still be at a Championship contending level (just not on BG's level next year), but the 2018 game might have the potential to be a classic with both teams loaded in their underclassman ranks.

The title says streaks....... Trinity will have openings next year but like to leave week 10 open before the playoffs.

BG has the state best 23 game win streak btw. Why is Trinity even a factor in this thread in your mind? Missing the finals in 13 and 15 to me seems like BG should be talking about playing someone else. I hear they will scrimmage Male next year. If Trinity can step up their game and win this year maybe BG will be interested.

HHS 8 straight final appearances, 7 titles.

Trinity has made the playoffs every year from 1972 to present.
