How does Males loss to St. X make the road to Bowling Green easier for Trinity?

Obviously the Rocks will play either Male or X in the semifinals, but is the title there's to lose?

Could the Tigers or Dawgs still have a shot at knocking off Trinity? Or does this open the door wider?

Trinity is a clear favorite, but either of those two are capable of taking it. The Shamrocks need to stay humble and keep up the hard work. Nobody will give up a chance at the title without a fight.

I always felt that Male's close game with T, was an anomaly, because basically 4 plays was the reason Male made that game close. Maybe X proved last night, by stopping Male's long passing game, the 6A powers can beat them.

I will tend to agree with you. Male had one long drive that resulted in TD, and 4 long passes for TDs. Once Trinity shut down the air, Male stalled. St X may have learned from that.

Actually, Trinity didn't shut down the long pass, Male never attempted another after the fourth one. The reason I was told is Male's qb whacked his hand on someone's helmet during a pass and was there after limited to shorter passes. Had he been able to continue the long bombs for TDs, Trinity really would have had its work cut out for them in the second half stopping them. Not saying they couldn't, just would have been difficult.

 

Saying that, I am not sure which I would rather face again.

Male has the best shot of knocking off T in the playoffs. Don't think X has enough weapons to consistently threaten T'a defense.

I'll check my memory when I get a chance, but I believe that under Beatty, Trinity has never lost the second game in a season when they won the first. They have lost twice to the same team three times. Male twice and X once.
