  1. Yes it is on Saturday in their bowl game.
  2. Nothing Trivial here is the official link to Williamsburg discussion...you can find some useful info. there. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=120825
  3. Will Moses...he was a WR last year and missed much of the season with an injury.
  4. No...check the record books...Greer was a great high school QB. He benefited from a good system, but without a solid technique base and brains one can not do well in that system...Those intangibles are what makes a player great, you just can't measure it. No doubt about it Cashen is a solid QB, and from the stats the kid at Clay is, but I wouldn't crown either Mr. Football just yet...it is a long season. But Clint is one heckuva hard worker and a good kid; he will have a very good year.
  5. Belfry has a DL that attended the UK lineman camp...and he is the real deal...I can't remember his name...He was a big red haired kid that could really move...can someone let me know who he is...I am going to follow him this season because he has tons of potential.
  6. We have certainly lost one of the good guys in Ian. I never saw him without a smile, nor did I ever hear a cross word from him during the worst times. On the hardest days he was at his best and always up-beat... God bless his family; I will be praying for them.
  7. An assistant from last year's staff was able to return when it was thought he would not...thus the move. I think it was a class move for the coaches to remain loyal in this situation. Also what good would it do Coach Jewell to have another OL/DL coach just standing around when there are 3 others already? Coach Herron saw fit to hire me back around the first of March. He has shown a lot of confidence in my abilities, and has turned the OL over to me completely and I will be helping another coach with the DL. So yes it was a better position for me as well. I wish the Hounds all the luck in the world...I really got attached to some of those players and for the most part they work hard and have good attitudes. The timing was just not right for me to return to Corbin. But the opportunity Coach Jewell extended back in the winter was still invaluable as I got my feet wet in a great program.
  8. Any info. on arrangements etc. for Charlie??
  9. I really hate to hear this. When I was a player Charlie way always around, and he always had a good one-liner to chear you up on a bad day and enhance the good ones. It is always hard losing someone that has been such a part of the support structure of your program...he will be missed and my prayers are with the family. God blessed the Redhounds with one of the "Good Guys" and he will be missed.
  10. 6 Months & 9 days 190 Days 4560 hours 273,600 minutes 16,416,000 seconds Can't wait!!!
  11. Thanks for the kind words Hound82. I have indeed been added to the coaching staff; as of now my primary duties are in the weight-room, but I would think Coach Jewell will see fit for me to work with the OL/DL when the time comes. This will of course limit/end my posting on Corbin Football for the most part as it may constitute a conflict of interest. I will say we are excited with our kids' work ethic thus far in the weight room. I am so thankful that God saw fit to lead me back to the program that I love so much...I hope I can make a positive difference in these young men's spiritual, academic, and football lives. My hope is my services will be beneficial to the program that was so good to me, that we may have continued success on the field, and that I may be a positive influence in the lives of these fine players. GO REDHOUNDS!!!
  12. Coach Jewell sets a high standard for his players, and he does not tolerate falling short of that. With that said he is not nearly as demanding of these young men as he was say 5-6 years ago...he has lightened up quite a bit. I do not see what their problem is...a little discipline never hurt anyone. And respect...I personally never felt disrespected by any coach, but I can certainly see how attempts at motivation can be mistaken for disrespect by a coach...especially by young 16-17 year old boys.
  13. The petition is true...it was in the paper a few days ago. I do not know the result but it did go before the board last week, I believe.
  14. I think it ads something a little special to KY Basketball...when you talk to someone from another state they look at you with a look of awe. I like the All A classic etc. but leave it as is...a true state champ.
  15. Well I will say this...the last couple classes were small when they were freshmen and small as seniors. Those that leave, quit, etc. imo put themselves and their own glory above that of the team and its achievement/success. It takes a special player to subject his own ambissions teenage ego etc. for the good of the team. If that means you are not the allstar so be it. Not many people care how many yards a team's back or receiver had in a certain year; all they look back on is the W/L's. For kids to leave for such "personal" reasons as this I for one will not miss their view of 'team'. That is why Knute Rockne said he would put his best eleven on the field...not necessarily his eleven best. A team is something larger than any player, and those that think they are above the whole need to be shown the door. Would that hurt the team in the short term...probably, the long term will not suffer. I will say we do not need to lose too many parts of the whole though.
  16. Well if he reads this thread I would like to thank Steve Jewell at Corbin. He has a very good career record, and had a roller-coaster ride of a season last year. I know he works very hard to keep the Redhounds on track...So thank you coach as a former player and now as a fan/spectator.
  17. The whole situation baffles the heck out of me...They have the chance to be on a good team next year with a little work and determination. I hope it is all rumor.
  18. It looks a lot like UT's 1998 or 1999 SEC ring.
  19. Hound82 are you going to Log Mt. Thurs. I may saddle up for this one...haven't seen the Hounds yet this year so I need to get out to one.
  20. There is a ton of work to be done between now and August before anyone needs to be getting too excited. The Hounds have emense potential coming up, but it is still raw potential i.e. the roller-coaster ride this season...with some hard work in the weight-room, and athletic improvement this team could be special to watch, but without it things may not go as hoped/anticipated with such a difficult schedule.
  21. The special tems need a lot of work...I saw them in the Corbin game, and for such a good program with good coaches; I was less than impressed with the special teams...There must be emphasis placed on them...Russell gives up way too much field position because of them.
  22. I believe that is exactly what I said in my rather lengthy post, but others chose to single out comments to argue. Regarding that pic that has become a hot topic...I am being objective here...it is not like the game will be any different if we can agree that a call was missed etc.
