  1. 4th and 15 after the blitz. Russell punt Newport ball at their own 10.....6:44 left in the 1st QT.
  2. 2nd and 5 for Russell. Clark for the 1st down, and is down on the field (injured?) 9:44 left in the 1st QT.
  3. Fumble after the Newport pass...Newport recovers short of the first. Punt Russell takes over at their own 29.
  4. Russell to kick..... 1st and Newport at their own 26
  5. Red Devils are only giving up 17.9 points a game and are putting up 40+ per game.
  6. I've got my "Maroon" on and here pulling for the Devils, did I just type that????
  7. Kickoff in 2 hours :jump: By the way Birdsfan this is a GREAT idea!!!
  8. Your obviously kidding :irked: Both of the players mentioned have strengths but, I can guarantee that the coaching staff will put the best players on the field. To be honest it would be great to have another 2 year starter at QB for the Tomcats, but those are some pretty lofty expectations T7. Especially since the other QB has already started as the Ashland QB in 2004. Don't get me wrong Ashland should be happy that Darrel is here, but he'll have to earn his playing time. :thumb:
  9. Ashland's Coach Hart gives the kids college letters as soon as he gets them.
  10. I was in attendance at that game and I would have to say that Mason County's receivers caught the ball well, but just ran out of time against the Birds. I guess that bodes well for a running team again this time, if they can control the football the way they did 2 years ago. I still can't figure out why the jet sweep is sooo special :irked:
  11. What some people do not understand here is that Hart's offense can adjust to the skill level of his players. IMO it will make little difference which QB has the better arm....It will matter which "football player" makes the better decisions. The offense that is place can utilize either the run (option and formation checks) or the pass with pre and post snap reads. Both are equally hard and like some have said we "will" see.
  12. Guys, Football is a TOTALLY different animal than basketball. Very good football teams, with big numbers, will platoon as much as possible and play those edge players on special teams. Offense and Defense for a fully platooned team means 22 "athletes", basketball 5. When you throw in special teams to football you have a potential for 77 starting positions on the team! (KO, KOR, Punt, Punt Return, EP/FG) I certainly understand that most if not all high school teams will overlap kids on these "special" teams, but the potential is there to put 77 "starters" on the field on any given Friday night. In basketball and team is very deep if they go 4 or 5 into the bench. 7-10 good round ball players will have a good chance at a successful season. I am by no means sold on the 6 class system for football but we're comparing apples and oranges with football having classes and Basketball not
  13. Rose Hill Christian bused kids from Huntington WV to Ashland and back in 2000-2002. WOW??!!! Its not right PERIOD!!!
  14. I think that the words used here are more than harsh.....What if the publics don't play??? The privates lose money..... I honestly think there needs to be a happy median here. Bashing the publics that feel they are on the wrong side on the stick is NO WAY going to help this situation!! Why don't you guys on the other side of the fence tell us HOW KHSAA play can be fair with the rules the way they are??
  15. The full moon coming up over Putnam Stadium in September and October. I wish I had that picture, but there is no better sight!!!!
  16. Russell by 10+....If they control the football....
  17. You missed Davis, but you also missed Gallaher. Travis started at least 3 games a sophomore and I honestly believe it might be more. T. Gallaher had to play behind Brandon Pennington and Joey Pierce, but Travis did get the nod in more than a couple games.
  18. I think he is referring to Russell, Boyd County, and Greenup County??? Those 3 and Portsmouth OH are the missing links to the old OKAC.
  19. To be honest I hope he did :madman: I don't want over estimate the posts on this site, but I read in the Ashland Rockcastle thread that some of the posts inspired the Rockets??? And if they did so be it. I hope some of our fans will get the message too. Good Luck to both teams :ylsuper:
  20. 10 of 22 possitions so the other 12 will return next season. Plus I believe that a few of those 12 will be 3 year starters
  21. Let me get this right???? Shocking because I-Town should have blown WW out???
