  1. Congrats to Rockcastle County on the win. They came into to the contest with a great game plan and the offensive line to make it happen. How do you beat speed? Make the blocks and run it between the tackles!!! And then Rockcastle found the soft spots in the secondary, of course the QB had just about as long as he wanted to find those spots. If #74 is 6'4" I'm 6'2" That kid is huge.... As for our Tomcat senior guys.....Its been an awesome ride in 2005!!!! Many of you have showed the class and actions of Chamipions and that's what we expect, but this class is SPECIAL!!! My heart is heavy too but, just remember that nobody can take that '05 off the score board and you ALL are now apart of the family now. Good luck to you all, and you know that All of us in Tomcat Nation will be there for you if and when you need us. Good Luck to this Senior Class: Brant Briggs Austin Brislin Jonathan Burke Adam Cannoy Aaron Cordial Brett France Angel Gurule Ian Holbrook Tim Patterson Tyler Reliford Randy Riggs Tyler Rowland Blake Runnels Joe Serey Joe Smith Trace Stafford Thank You all for you effort and and love of the program!!
  2. True!!!! I thought about that today as my team practiced and many others had already turned in the equipment. In a 2 year span of reaching the finals a team could be another year experienced with the young kids  To be honest I'd like to go back to the 11 game regular season.
  3. Ashland has a VERY good tradition in football prior to the KHSAA, But as I look at the win/loss record against Ft. Thomas Highlands it stands Ashland 5 Highlands 17 and 1 tie... I guess I'll say that's pretty solid tradition for the Birds.
  4. We don't think so over here in the East..... But Highland's has been stellar in the past 30 years, so I guess I would say they would have be top dog since the KHSAA.
  5. Cannoy's learning curve is off the charts on both sides of the ball, but Angel is challenging Adam every day now. You have to LOVE competition between team mates
  6. The flag was thrown on the play but he did come down with the catch. Great catch by a GREAT player. Adam has been a God send to the 2005 Tomcats. :ylsuper: By the way Adam is a senior and this is his first year playing at the high school level. Thanks Adam :thumb:
  7. Okay....I guess its time for me to address this Rockcastle "vote" once and for all. When I voted early last Saturday morning the poll results were very lopsided in Ashland's favor. In my mind I KNEW that the Tomcats could not go into this game with the big head so I "clicked" Rock. I had absolutely NO clue that those results were public. Anyone who knows me can vouch for the FACT that I bleed maroon. I NEVER have and never will go in to a contest thinking the Tomcats are going to lose. If anyone thinks other wise PLEASE look me up  As far as the game this week goes we HAD better lace and buckle 'em up tight because those guys with "Rock" on the side of their helmets are coming to Ashland with a point to prove :fight:
  8. And before this gets BLOWN way out of reality... Rockcastle County scouts have been nothing but good scouts this year!
  9. The Boyd County Staff KNOWS that Rock was video tapping the Ashland/BC game last year and so do we :thumb: We also know that Rock was video tapping the Ashland/Perry County Central game last year :thumb: And the Buck stops HERE. I challege anyone on the other side of the fence to give their HONEST depiction of why people where caught in Putnam Stadium with video cameras from Rockcastle County twice?, Well I guess that should be almost twice the third that was party filming PCC could not be found And YES he was there.
  10. Madison SOUTHERN, to clear up in misrepresentation, is a solid well-balanced Football team. I doubted this team at the begining of the season but not NOW. Madison Southern IS for real!!!!
  11. :sssh: :sssh: Do we need to call the Mafia back in RickyP??? :jump:
  12. How did that happen  Somebody obviously has my password. I would never do that for motivation :sssh: This will be the toughest game Ashland has played yet. There will be no lack in motivation for Rockcastle come next Friday after lossing in double overtime last year. The Cats had better prepared to play or that vote, how ever it got there , will become true.
  13. NO! Good players do not always make good coaches, but that's not to take away from the coaches that have had distingished playing careers who are also great coaches.
  14. To answer the orignal question. NO! So every public school would be forced to have swimming, tennis, golf.........There is an exception by the KHSAA made for student athletes that want to play a sport that is not offered at their school.
  15. If there is no agreement the school system is crazy if they do not charge the amount of money they would receive from the State for that child. I'll look for some information on tuition rates at Ashland, but I'm pretty sure its not exactly cheap;)
  16. Just like your "so called" public schools or County Schools, Independent Schools draw their money from state and federal taxes. As a matter of fact all "public" school employees, including independent systems are considered State Employees with the same benefits, retirement, ect...... The ONLY thing that INDEPENDENT means is that the school system is seperate from the county system in which they would other wise be a part of. EX: Boyd County/Ashland Independent and Fairview Independent, Greenup County/Russell Independent and Raceland Independent, Pike County/Pikeville Independent. As far as your question at the top of this post. Money will only follow a student across district lines if there is a reciprocal agreement between the systems. In other words the student can live in another district but their money from the state will follow them to the other district. This is true with both County and Independent Districts there is NO difference! There is one exception that I can think of Busses CAN NOT cross district lines to transport out-of-district students to a school. Out-of-state students WILL always be required to pay tuition since States are not going to swap money back and forth for public education.
  17. You've got to kidding me:laugh:     If Independent Schools aren't Public Public Schools what are they? 98NCC I think your a little, well a whole lot off here:rolleyes: Who funds these schools?
  18. I agree...why would you do this in the first place???? But even if someone was to change names, so to would the user name on their posts from before;)
  19. :scared: I feel soooo violated:lol:   Actually I think its halarious:lol:
  20. Oh my:sssh: I can't help but think things are not good on Roberts Dr. right now:eek:
  21. To add to what Nets said, and I could be wrong, but wouldn't there be eligibility questions if Walker does return?
  22. "In any case, the personal lives and desisions of Rose Hill's students and parents in no way effect it's mission to accept and to teach any child." Careful old buddy these 2 statements contridict each other;) I think this whole thing is petty to begin with. Rose Hill did the right thing. I'm sure that they are upset to lose the young man, BUT you never know what "parents" are going to do, and in this case the parent is wrong!!!!! Besides where do they hang those AAU National banners:rolleyes: I honest think a Kentucky State Basketball Championship is worth its weight in gold. What happens to the AAU trophey, or what ever they give out:confused: I guess they hang it up or put it on the mantle at the coaches house.:sssh: My question is what about the kid??? As far as I'm concerned this AAU coach has nothing but HIMSELF in mind:rolleyes:
  23. As long as the Golden Calf is still at Rose Hill I seriously doubt you will hear many Rose Hill faithful being too upset. Just my opinion. Things happen, and I'm sure that this is a big loss for the Royal team, but they still will be the favorite going in to District play, whether I agree with the public/private debate or NOT;)
