Go to any game in this day and age and you have parents/fans that will complain no matter what. It can really take the fun out of high school sports for players and coaches.

I have heard very little talk about how good Russell would be this year. No outlandish expectations from Devil Land. Devils will go 7-3 6-4 and be playing no worse than second round of playoffs. You guys lost the best class in your history. It is not easy to replace your entire backfield and two stud lineman.

Raceland will be fine. They are the victims of unreal expectations by their fans. They lost arguably their best senior class EVER. Some on here were saying LCA and Blazer were their only possible losses. Very unfair to this team. The coaches will continue to work hard and right the ship in the coming weeks.

I saw Lawrence County tear their goal posts down after a huge playoff win over Breathitt County one year.

I was not saying anything bad at all. Everybody compares scores on here. Legit question. Ashland is obviously an overwhelming favorite in this game, just wondered if it will be as bad as their game with Raceland.

Will the Devils be able to keep it closer than 31-0?

It looked like in the first quarter it may be a game. Russell had Ironton pinned inside the 10 with less than a minute left in the quarter with the score 0-0. Then the Devils were introduced to Mr Wilks, a backup to the starter who got hurt. 92 yards later the game had changed. Throw in two more punt returns for TDs by Wilks and a bad snap on a punt and the Devils were out of it. The defense played halfway decent but gets tired quickly due to long stays on the field.. The Devils offense needs to get clicking to help out the defense. Ironton will go deep in the playoffs. Very good football team. It does get any easier next week with the Tomcats coming to town next week. These games will help these Devils down the road.

Russell plays in the district assigned by the KHSAA. If you go by sheer numbers 5A Ashland should never lose to 3A Russell or 1A Raceland yet they are 5-6 last 11 years vs Russell and 1-3 vs Racleand the last four. I guess playing a big, bad schedule does not mean a whole lot.

Russell will show up and play hard. It is all about timing in some years past this game would have been a war. Like Ryan said, it seems some on here are hoping Ironton can name the score. You would think people would pull for a team from this side of the river.

Ryan research some stats for Graybeard. I beleive Russell has a winning record over Blazer in the past eleven years. I would also like to know if not Russell who is the team of the decade?

Sometimes it is hard for others to take that the Devils have been the dominant program of this decade on this side of the Ohio River. Back-to-back title games speaks volumes.

It is just Year 1 of a four-year contract. Tomcats have been real successful the past 17 years with the Tigers.:jump::banana::laugh::sssh:

I think the Wing T and the belly are much different. I do agree both offenses should make for a fast football game.

Ole Ivan has won a lot of games with such a simple offense Doc. Maybe a few teams in the area may want to simplify things.
