  1. I would guess they would tell you it is because decisions to play regular season contests would be optional.
  2. I didn't say that. You complaining about numbers is the battle cry of most every 4A public school when they have to compete with X and T.
  3. Exactly who doesn't understand what? I think the public schools would tell you that you are getting a taste of life in their shoes.
  4. It would be the best TV since the Campbell County board of education fired Sullivan on live TV.
  5. That is why Male and Manuel are the bigger winners if proposal #1 passes.
  6. I don't know the facts of the case to judge who is right and who is wrong, but my question would be: Which is the KHSAA more concerned about, doing what is right for this kid or preserving athletic equity? To me this is a step back and look at the big picture argument.
  7. Me thinks you might be underestimating the unhappiness and jealousy of the masses.
  8. How many kids do Male and Manual pull from outside of Jefferson County?
  9. Exactly what is Male and Manual giving up in this compromise? Personally I don't know how much of a compromise it is for anyone.
  10. As I stated in another thread. There is no guarantee it will be 20 miles. That can be ammended the day of the vote to a much lower number.
  11. There is no guarantee it will be 20 miles. It could end up being much less.
  12. Lawsuits against vountary orgainizations are difficult birds as we have all witnessed in the past year.
  13. BTW, Male and Manual would have all of Jefferson County to pull from under the proposal.
  14. I think you would be amazed at how hard it is to function outside of the KHSAA.
  15. Alright I admit I missed this on my read through last week, but did anyone catch the fact that kids at public schools who live outside the geographic boundaries of your district are ineligible for 1 year of high schools sports. This has nothing to do with transfers, but just strictly is a matter of residency. Just for perspective I have two children whose best friends just happen to live outside of Ft. Thomas. The parents of these two children are wealthy and have a VERY nice home, however, they did not like the school district in which their home is located. Therefore, since kindergarten they have attended Ft. Thomas schools. However, once they get to 9th grade they will be ineligible for 1 year because of this rule.
  16. As far as I know I can only think of 2 kids that ever crossed the border to play for Highlands. He is still on the team and is a solid player, but not a super star. The other kid stayed for one year, played little to no varsity and transferred to Moeller. In NKY, kids coming from Cincy is very uncommon just because Ohio football is so good. Out of state kids isn't a NKY issue.
  17. When the KHSAA comes up with a rule to address a situation the year after the horse got out of the barn, what exactly does that say?
  18. They would not sell out or come close. I am not sure you can do a "back of the envelope" calculation to determine if there is a model for how this would work for non-public schools. There would be a lot of factors I am sure.
  19. I was wrong when I questioned that as others have pointed out. When I said that I guess I was thinking just about football. However, Scott County unlike Male and Manual does have a defined district.
  20. Exactly. Just because your school stinks in a sport doesn't mean someone else is doing something wrong.
  21. I think that if the KHSAA tries to split the state into two tourneys then the privates will come up with some other model. They certainly won't let all the money that would be generated from an X / T postseason matchup flow to the KHSAA. I think that if the split happens the privates take their ball and go home and find something else that will allow them to survive.
  22. I hope they kick off of the private schools out of the state chess tourney. Those things are dominated by private schools, most of which I had never heard of (ie The Lexington School).
