In basketball, Madison Central beating Model by 51 points in a warm, dry climate controlled gym where each team likely dressed the same number of players and none of the Model players were physically battered and completely overwhelmed at every position on the court is a bit different from football where Frederick Douglass or Boyle County or CAL or Trinity beat a 1st round playoff opponent by 51 points by physically hammering and often injuring the opposing players (not intentionally) when the weather could be cold rain and 38 degrees. I see those two scenarios very differently.

Yes. 1. They would lose the catastrophic insurance coverage provided by their membership within the KHSAA. 2. The football programs within the private schools would likely not have an issue scheduling 10 football games, but how about scheduling 30 + baseball and basketball games, 20 + soccer and lacrosse games, all other sports, Frosh and JV levels, etc 3. The private schools would lose the opportunity to play for a “meaningful” state championship. It’s one thing to be called “state champion” atop 150 to 250 other schools. But “state champion” atop 15 to 20 schools.

Correct. Trinity will host a District runner up on Tuesday evening in Steinhauser Gym for a region Quarterfinal game. The 7th Region tournament draw will take place on Saturday morning. The Rocks will know their opponent after that draw.

The FHSAA Board of Directors has voted 10-0 to approve changing to using straight up MaxPreps Rankings (the ones everyone sees directly on MaxPreps.com) to rank and seed football playoff teams.

The 6th and 7th Region Tournament draw meeting is Saturday morning. Stay tuned. All match ups, dates, times and venues will be shared coming out of that meeting.

My vote would be for the 2011 schedule because the District opponents then (X, Male, Manual) are much tougher than the District opponents now (Ballard, Eastern, Oldham County). The out of state opponents for either 2011 or 2026 are top notch. Rocks picking up some momentum as Jayden Johnson has played about 10 games post his return and he is clicking with Garrison Gilvin. Trinity closes out their regular season at home on Saturday afternoon vs Cincinnati Moeller.

Rocks go on the road and win. The Colts small, loud gym is always a tough place to play for a visiting team. Trinity will host Montgomery County on Thursday and Moeller on Saturday to close out regular season play.

Rocks go 3-0 in District play and wrap up the #1 seed. On the road at Henderson County on Saturday evening.

They are really good. Finished 2025 12-0 and ranked #1 in Tennessee. The least points they scored in a game all season was 28 in a win over Brentwood Academy.

In their last 5 games the Rocks are 4-1 and are learning how they want to play with getting J Johnson back and losing 6’6” senior T Hornek for the season. They have a chance to capture the District #1 seed on Friday as they host Waggener and then a tough road game on Saturday at Henderson County.
