North Oldham 48 South Oldham 38 (29th District Championship)

Featured Replies

Here we are with the rematch.  These same two teams met about a month ago, with North winning 61/28.

What can we expect tonight (2/27/26)?

I'm actually thinking South can win this game.

Losing Green will hurt North. This is a very even game IMO.

North wins by 10- 48-38… close for a stretch, just too many answers/big time plays from Gregg, Rondo and their role players. Unreal what they are doing without Sears and Green.

Wow - low scoring game, especially for South Oldham who loves to shoot the 3.

Game was tight until the 4th quarter, North was up 4 after 3 quarters.  The tide turned starting the 4th quarter, North ran out to a 17 point lead, South was able to get it back to 10.  South again was just unable to hit the three.

It’s almost like North doesn’t give up the 3 because of their length, athleticism and ability to just guard.

Not much athleticism there other than Rondo who is small, they do have length, and they do a good job on defense.  South seems to be getting some good looks on the three, but it just wasn't dropping.  If we can figure this out, I'm guessing Coach Simpson would be very interested, LOL

North bigs pinned multiple shots on the backboard, sent shots going flying… but not much athleticism lol. It is amazing how after two relatively not close finishes we have revisionist history 12 hours after the game. These teams aren’t that close.

THIRD time is the charm???

One way or the other. I guessing Woodford County will break up the 3 peat.

How was this such a low scoring game? South Oldham is by no means a good defensive team. Does North just play the keep away style like Anderson when they play South?

They don't get in a big hurry.  North had several turnovers and they like South, really didn't shoot that well.

I know North isn’t as athletic as St X top 2-3 athletes but to say there isn’t much athleticism there other than Rondo is absurd. South is fairly athletic themselves. Here are some pictures from the game that were posted on twitter. Pictures credits from jmichaudphoto
